Currently sailing on the recently refurbished American West. Saw previous negative reviews and was hesitant, but cruise line said it was being fully refurbished. It is lovely! Definitely has the charm of an old-fashioned paddle wheel boat. Carpets, furnishings, furniture, linens, shower curtain… are all very nice. Exceeded our expectations! All staff members have gone above and beyond to meet any ...

Columbia Snake River Cruise from Clarkston, WA

We chose this cruise as to imagine what it was like that Lewis and Clark went through. We had a historian on-board who gave 50 minutes discussions each day about the areas we would go to. He would even ride the bus with us at times to explain even more of the area we headed to. Geography/landscape changed along the way. Starting out in canyons to hilly green tree areas as you go west. Go ...

About us - my husband and I are in our early 40s, no children, spending time with my well and healthy but aging parents on this cruise. Initially concerned about the expense, average age of the cruisers (65 and older) and if we would be bored. Parents are not footing the bill so to speak. My husband and I have hectic, stressful jobs from which it is hard to obtain this amount of time off. This is ...

This was the 3rd cruise with American Cruise Lines for my wife and I. It was recommended to us by fellow travellers during our last ACL cruise in Chesapeake Bay. In particular they asked us to make sure that we booked a trip where Todd Weber was the tour guide. This we did, although we had to join a waiting list. Unfortunately the forest fires in California created so much smoke that it ...

We chose this cruise because it offered an opportunity to see parts of the US that we had not visited. We specifically chose this itinerary because it gave us a chance to reunite with old friends in our embarkation city of Portland, OR. This was our second cruise with American Cruise Lines and I have to say that they have improved their service since our first cruise almost 10 years ago. ...

This was a small ship-175 passengers on a USA River. We did not need to fly to or from another country. The trip on the Columbia and Snake Rivers was Wonderful. While we had driven the route through the Gorge, it was totally different taking in the scenery from a ship. We had the experience of going through several of the locks during daylight which was very interesting. The cabins are more than ...
