Superb Food and Scenery

Review for a North America River Cruise on American Harmony

We have worked and traveled all over the world; we now want to see the USA. We think American Cruise Line (ACL) has a working model of how to do this. Great ships, great itineraries, great on-board entertainment, and young, invigorated American crews. We have been on 4 ACL boats; the food has always been good, but Chef Q's kitchen did wonders this trip. Every meal was a treat, and Chef Q ...

Lots of history and terrain changes

A great chance to learn more about Lewis & Clark's expedition from a knowledgeable historian. He was a fun and interesting presenter with lots of photos. The evening entertainers were, for the most part, not our cup of tea but lots of folks seemed to really enjoy them. We were quite comfortable relaxing in our room or in on of the many lounge areas. The Snake & Columbia Rivers locks were quite ...

I've been on several American Cruise Line cruises and each one is better than the last. I just love these cruises. When I checked into the room it was bright and spotlessly clean. The staterooms are so much bigger than on an ocean cruise. This ship was all balconies, so I was able to sit outside on my balcony. The best part of the cruises is always the crew. Everyone onboard is willing to do ...

We had never been on a river cruise or to the Pacific Northwest before. We had been on 2 or 3 ocean cruises before and wanted to compare with a river cruise. The American Song was very modern and nice with a variety of both large and small lounges. The dining room was large and clean. The staff and personnel were very friendly and efficient. We had a vivacious cruise director (Olivia) and ...

This was our second cruise on the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington with ACL. The views and locks are spectacular and the pace is very relaxing. Each town visited has an interesting history and quaint personality. American Cruise Lines provides a fantastically safe environment for aging guests or for those travelling alone. The small ships ensure that you'll be able to meet and make ...

This was our second river cruise on American Cruise lines, but we had sailed many times before on large cruise ships to the Caribbean and Alaska. None of those ocean cruises could be considered even a close second to this last cruise on the Columbia and Snake Rivers. This ship has a capacity of 150 passengers; so much nicer than dealing with thousands of passengers. Disembarking and returning ...

The most cared for ship ever. Great food, fabulous tours and friendliest staff. A must to experience. The ports were beautiful filled with activities, shopping and friendly people. Transportation was readily available at all times if you wanted to do the loops. This made it very convenient for passengers that didn't go on tours. It was very impressive to see how patient and helpful ...

This was an amazing cruise from every aspect! Great facilities, wonderful suite, excellent food, excellent staff, excellent excursions, etc. And that is just to name a few! The river itself is beautiful and ever changing! There are opportunities for great excursions in every port. (We were in a different port each day.) We also had great opportunities for onboard activities. I was in a ...
