Super excellent cruise

This was our second river cruise on American Cruise lines, but we had sailed many times before on large cruise ships to the Caribbean and Alaska. None of those ocean cruises could be considered even a close second to this last cruise on the Columbia and Snake Rivers. This ship has a capacity of 150 passengers; so much nicer than dealing with thousands of passengers. Disembarking and returning ...

This was our second cruise on the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington with ACL. The views and locks are spectacular and the pace is very relaxing. Each town visited has an interesting history and quaint personality. American Cruise Lines provides a fantastically safe environment for aging guests or for those travelling alone. The small ships ensure that you'll be able to meet and ...

We did the Mississippi river cruise with ACL the year before and had a great time. We prefer small ship cruises, especially river cruises. We took a couple of walks around the area of our embarkation port, which was in front of the hotel, and it was beautiful. We disembarked in Clarkston, WA and took a shuttle(a little expensive) to Spokane to fly home, which was one of many choices. Since we ...

This was the 3rd cruise with American Cruise Lines for my wife and I. It was recommended to us by fellow travellers during our last ACL cruise in Chesapeake Bay. In particular they asked us to make sure that we booked a trip where Todd Weber was the tour guide. This we did, although we had to join a waiting list. Unfortunately the forest fires in California created so much smoke that it ...

Wanted to experience the Columbia River and snake River. The trip was a huge disappointment. The ship was basic. No riverboat atmosphere. Cabins sparse. Veranda furniture rusty. Windows dirty. Food only fair. Often not warm and had to be sent back to kitchen Service minimal. Many dining room staff were not trained sufficiently. Four of them said that they were new-started the day before ...

This was a small ship-175 passengers on a USA River. We did not need to fly to or from another country. The trip on the Columbia and Snake Rivers was Wonderful. While we had driven the route through the Gorge, it was totally different taking in the scenery from a ship. We had the experience of going through several of the locks during daylight which was very interesting. The cabins are more than ...

Lewis and Clark expedition "Riverlorian" on board was very knowledgeable, and his visual aids and manner of presenting was very engaging. The staff were outstanding in their commitment to providing personal service. Complimentary wine was served at all meals. I asked if they had "14 Hands" wine during the first dinner. They did not have it, but one of the staff bought some at the next port, ...

This cruise line promises small ship cruising "done perfectly", and claims that it stands out from larger, much more affordable lines with personalized service, all-inclusive dining, and meticulous attention to detail. My party of 9 people was by far the youngest and healthiest group there, and possibly the largest with a combined spend of nearly $70,000, yet we were also one of the easiest to ...
