Epic 3/23 Mixed Bag

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Epic

Just got off the 3/23/19 sailing. I have to say I have some mixed feelings about it. The cruise had some difficulties that I'll outline below, but even with those, we had a great time and would consider sailing her again if the right itinerary came up. Quick Summary: Pros: Great Entertainment, Friendly Staff, Clean Ship, Good Service Cons: Delays, Missed Port, Terrible Disembarkation, ...

We sailed on the Epic for Spring Break. This was our first NCL cruise. Have done RCCL, Disney and Carnival. I had read a lot on here about the ship before we cruised. We had a great week and enjoyed everything we did on the ship. Thought the food was good in all places and the service was good with the exception of crowds at pool bars. Kids had a great time and enjoyed the sports court and meeting ...

Not Worth the Money

The only good thing about Norwegian were the excursions, which you can get through other cruises too. Most of my interactions with staff were unhelpful at best and downright rude at worst. There seems to be a very prevalent "not my job" mentality where staff will go out of their way to avoid helping you or answering your questions. The rare few crew members who are actually pleasant are overworked ...

Summary of the bad and the awful

This is the 10th ncl cruise i have taken. Normally, i am very pleased and recommend them to friends. however, the epic, having 18 stories was another matter. 1. They have the same number of dining facilities (open to all) that the smaller ships have (like the dawn) and have the same seating, so getting a seat in the buffet is impossible. The main dining rooms even recommend reservations. This ...

Cruise Was Great--Embarkation/Disembarkation Was Unacceptable

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Epic

I have been on multiple NCL cruises. With this experience, I have my expectations set. The crew on this ship was on par with or better than other NCL cruises I have completed in the past. The ship staff was top notch. The dining was excellent. I dined in the complimentary dining venues exclusively and never once did I feel like I was getting a subpar experience. Embarkation was a ...

Haven a disappointment

First let me say that we booked the Haven on the Epic after my wonderful experience on the NCL Escape. The Haven Epic is substandard both by physical limitations and lack of resources. I felt that the first NCL reservation agent that worked with me (Leo) was more interested in the sale and not in customer service. From room location, flights, and lack of information. After booking and poor ...

We have cruised with Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity. Norwegian did not even come close to comparing. Pros- We had booked a mini suite because we traveled with our 8 month old son, and the room was decent size and had a full size bathtub. The cruise line did provide a pack n play which was nice. Cons- 1. The ship was not set up to accommodate so many people. Other cruises ...

First of all, we let NCL book our flights and I don't think I will do that again. They would not schedule us to come in the day before embarkation. I was so nervous that a snow storm would delay our flights. Luckily we arrived in time. Although some people were very agitated at the airport about the delays in getting on the buses, they seemed to be very organized about the whole process. I was ...

Disappointing cruise on Norwegian Epic

I actually won a free cruise through my local land casino. With that being said, I was given a discounted cruise for me and a guest. This was my first cruise with Norwegian. I have taken several cruises before, but with Royal Caribbean. I have always thought my Royal Caribbean cruises were superb. Their main objective and focus is exceptional customer service. Royal Caribbean goes above and beyond ...

We are 60 something cruisers who enjoy a little time to ourselves. We have been on cruises with many cruise lines and this is our third with Royal. We chose this ship on a whim because we saw a Kelsey Grammer movie which featured the ship. We arrived a day early and used the Cruise Line's shuttle to the ship. It was smooth abet the gal loading the buses was a bit short with the clientele. ...
