Ship - Great, Port - Not So
"No valet service ( as in Tampa ), parking can be quite a hike from the terminal, and a real issue in rainy weather. As second port related issue on this sailing was that Mariner of the Seas sailed from her usual terminal, #1 but returned to Terminal #5......."Read More

Mariner did not disappoint!

Our trip went to Labadee, San Juan, St. Maarten, St. Croix and Perfect Day. Embarkation was very easy and practically walked onto the ship when we got there. Our first stop was to get our safety briefing which has been modified to watch a video (do it before you get on the ship) and you were ready to cruise. Windjammer Cafe was well laid out with lots of options. It did get pretty crowded at ...

We live in Florida just over a 2 hour drive from Port Canaveral or The Port of Tampa. We have sailed numerous times out of Tampa, but this was our first sailing from Canaveral. The drive to the port is a breeze, just over 10 miles from I-95. The issues we discovered were mostly parking related. No valet service ( as in Tampa ), parking can be quite a hike from the terminal, and a real issue in ...

We chose this cruise for the ship size and port location close to our home. Having sailed on the Mariner in the past we were familiar with her layout, service reputation, cleanliness and attention to detail. She did not disappoint us. If you are looking for a good cruise experience, the Mariner provides most of what the larger newer mega ships are offering, with fewer passengers on board, easy ...

We have sailed on over 7 cruises (RC, Carnival and NCL) and this was the most disappointing cruise yet. The most glaring disappointment was in the food and beverage area. While we (myself, brother and Dad.. to celebrate his 90th birthday) managed to find something to at the Windjammer buffet MOST of the time, the main dining room was horrible, both for breakfast and especially dinner. It seams ...

50 High School Reunion. Embarkation was very smooth from the luggage drop off to ship. Was very disappointed in the food on this ship as the buffet had plenty of choices but was only ok. The main dining was horrible, many times arriving cold. 1st time in my life I had to send back food which we did on every night there. Not many specialty dining venues as the steak house was exceptional and ...

More Cons than Pros this trip

From start to finish, the process to get on and off the boat was painless and pretty fast. The app needs quite a bit of work. There is a lot of conflicting information and it is not the best when it comes to being user friendly. There was a lot of miscommunication between the staff on and off the boat. We took into consideration a possibly new crew, but we had issues with required items that we ...

Rude, disrespectful and Worst refund policy return

Be careful when you pay for excursions and don't use it and it rains. It's like pulling wisdom teeth to get your money refunded, when you leave the ship. I will not be coming back on Royal Caribbean ever again. Food not all that. Pizza was good. They try to give you a credit. No way give me my hard earned money back. Thanks and good bye! Wifi not so good. Service was trash. I Paid for my drink ...

Chose this cruise #1 because of the cost, #2 proximity to home, and #3 size of ship. Good cruise...easy to embark, very good food in the dining room, and great staff with good attitude and grateful to be back to work. It was a 5 day cruise, with stops in Cozumel and Nassau.....We've been to both many times so the thrill to see different things wasn't quite there. Nassau tore ...

A Christmas To Remember

My 85 year old mother and I set sail on December 21, 2008 on the Mariner of the Seas. What a beautiful, elegant ship! The service was top notch. Everyone was falling over themselves to take care of us. Our Promenade cabin was lovely. The view from the large window was great. It felt like looking down on a busy street. We ate in the Rhapsody in Blue dining room for all our meals, except for hitting ...

1. General Comments: A pleasant cruise and an experiment for us to see what it is like to travel on one of these "monster" ships. This was our tenth cruise and our third with Royal Caribbean (RCL). This was a Christmas cruise and the ship was full: about 3,500 passengers, including over 1,000 non-US citizens, and 1,500 crew. There were loads of families with ages from infants to very senior ...
