Our family of five booked Freedom for a week, one balcony and one inside right across the hall. Great selection.
The three kids (52,54& 55) and my wife and I did separate some but found ourselves bonding as well.
Ports were good- Labadee gave us beach and barbecue, Falmouth gave us Duns River Falls for the young ones and we olders enjoyed a quiet ship. Grand Cayman found us all on the Semi ...
1) My husband's sibling set up the cruise so we went along. 2) After a few Carnival Cruises, we wanted to try another cruise line for an upgrade. Didn't quite get that. But overall it was a good cruise relating to RCCI (lol can't do much about the weather which was windy, cloudy & rainy) 3) Haiti stop: Was nice walking around, frustrating walking through the open air shops area which many ...
When we were looking for a ship to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, we knew we wanted a Royal Caribbean ship. We had sailed on the Oasis for our 25th and decided to downsize to check it out. We loved the Freedom of the Seas. It is similar to the Oasis but with less people. Yes it was crowded at times, like when shows ended, returning from ports, etc... This did not bother us though as we ...
Food was good in all restaurants. We would have liked to see more "comfort food" on the dining room menu.... meatloaf, stuffed peppers, chopped steak. Enjoyed the turkey! Service was excellent!
Shore excursions are expensive if booked through RCCL.
How about a 50's night for us older folks?
Crew seemed to make everyone feel comfortable. Once I sat down by Sorrento's and a crew member ...
The highlight: Best view of the moon you can have ever is when you are in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night. Go check that out if you're going on a cruise.
The ship itself was massive, with LOTS of people (get ready for people everywhere!).
Cabin was nice - nothing to write home about. It was the sort of quality I'd expect in a decent B&B.
Room service was great - that ...
We choose FOS for the activities aboard and the size. We are loyal RCCL cruisers. We've sailed the Allure and 7 of the smaller ships but not the FOS yet. The ports were not of interest. It was a 50th Anniversary cruise and our 14 cruisers were from age 6 to 72. All enjoyed the ship immensely. We had a junior suite and others has inside and balcony cabins and all were satisfied. Even the son ...
The main reason for selecting Freedom of the Seas was our very good friends who live near the port of embarkation had booked this cruise. We decided to join them, normally this is a ship and cruise we would normally would not have considered due to its size (4500 passengers) and itinerary. We have been on many smaller RCC ups and the embarkation and debarkation was painfull but I must say all ...
Our overall experience was excellent. Our cabin (8632) was in a very convenient location. It was a great size with a small couch and a good-sized balcony that was very private. The ship was easy to get around and had so many amenities. We found the entertainment to be outstanding and enjoyed the shows.
We ate most meals in the dining room, as the buffet was always so crowded it was ...
This was our 8th cruise on Royal and the first on the Freedom. It's big but there are enough venues available that it did not seem as crowded as some of the smaller ships. The rooms were well maintained and very clean. Our cabin attendent Joy was very good. Our balcony was the largest we have had. Overall the service was good and the crew was friendly and knowledgable. Bar service on the pool deck ...
