Went on this ship to celebrate a birthday and Halloween. It was an amazing experience on Halloween. Many of the passengers had their costumes and participated on the promenade parade. We had an incredible time worth of the money spent for this cruise.
My complaints about this particular cruise are as follows:
1. RCCL has become to stingy with the food and it tends to repeat the menu too ...
I will say upfront we have been on five cruises with Disney Cruise line through our vacation club membership. We decided to do an week on Royal due to the recommendations of others and the overall excellent ratings. It was sadly a disappointment. Getting on and off the boat was fine (we did bring our own luggage so no waiting) We had no major issues with the ship. Overall it was clean and in good ...
I usually cruise on Princess but went on Freedom of the Seas with other people. The ship is beautiful, the entertainment was great. The staff at Johnny Rockets were friendly and service was quick, lots of smiles. That is more that what I can say for the staff at Galileo's. The first evening we were there the service was great, the waiter and server. Smiled and took great care of the 12 of us. That ...
Close port of departure, value for cost not what it was, very hard sell to spend money, no more stationary in cabin, concierge condescending not helpful at all, have a priority line at guest services for diamond &diamond plus but did not have anyone available to talk to,had four people to keep taking lower class categories while we had to wait, offered no explanation. One time got drink of the ...
Living in Florida, we like the convenience of cruising out of Port Canaveral. Being a Diamond member with RC, the Freedom of the Seas is also our favorite ship. Overall, we had a good time on the cruise and great weather and smooth seas. Since we have been to all of the eastern Caribbean ports many times, we did not do any excursions on this trip.
What we really liked about the cruise:

Redeeming RCL Visa points, we were very limited in what we could choose from. It was average.
The room 8396 was at the back of the boat. The walk was long to do anything but it was quiet. Overall room was acceptable but Jessica the steward was exceptional in all she did for us.
We asked for a 2 top seating for dining, was placed at a 9 top and told 2 tops were given to only select guests ...
The cruise itself was ok. The ports of call were good, the crew were excellent, the ship was good, the cabin nice the food TERRIBLE. They have changed their menus and you get a choice, every night it seemed, of 3 kinds of chicken, fish, and beef. One night they had lamb chops which were good. They have done away with the duck on formal night (or any other night for that matter), which was our ...

Since I've been cruising rating the performance of the staff and activities has been a part and parcel of the vacation. I'm not sure if it is new management, a fear for loosing their job or some other factor but there was a real tension on the Freedom of the Seas. OK I realized when I booked that it was not going to be on par with the Oasis from a pure size perspective but I did expect the level ...
This made my 30th cruise on Royal Caribbean. I have loved this cruise line for the way they have always taken care of me and my family. However, on this cruise I had to ask for everything extra.
In the past we have always stayed at the Cocoa Beach Hilton. It is a fantastic beach front Hotel with a great pool and a wonderful tiki bar/restaurant on the ocean. I called a year in advance and ...
