This was our 14th cruise our 5th on Norwegian. I am 72 years old and my wife is 69. She uses a rollator to get around. We chose to leave out of Cape Canaveral as it is close to our home. We parked at a remote lot and took the bus to the ship That was great. Embarkation was fast and easy. Because of my wife's problems and since there were no disabled cabins available we took a Mini Suite. Outside of a bathtub there is no difference from a regular cabin except the price!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The steward was not the best ie no clean towels at night. The ship itself seemed to be poorly designed with reguard's to the public areas. Sound whet from the atrium and blended with the smoke from the casino and you had trouble ordering at some of the dining rooms due to the noise and the smell of old smoking from the casino. The Lifeboat drill was not well organized It took oven an hour with no place to sit for most people at there stations. The cruise director's English was hard to understand. While the food was good in the dining rooms the specialty rooms were better. The 3 ports were ok but the Great Stirip cay was not worth getting off the ship. The only good thing was getting to see and rind in the tenders from the OLD Norway! All in all the trip was not of the quality and value of past Norwegian Trips The entertainment was ok but again not up to the past trips. Disembarkation was fast and easy Read Less

We had the best time with the music entertainment Rubber Duck and Hot Brass. They were amazing! Kelli and Matthew front singers were awesome. We got to know them a bit more personally as we followed them to all of their performances. I will most definitely try to follow them to the location of their next contract!! YES that is how good they are!! Both beach stays were awesome. Cabbage beach is our favorite in Nassau. Princess cays was beautiful and fun to swim and snorkel. We rented chairs at cabbage beach. We are both professional chefs so food was important but we feel that the quality could use some work and giving a couple of more simpler dishes and also make portions are slightly larger. Drinks were great and late at night when hungry couldn’t find much to eat. There is pizza but it takes forever to get it. What happened to the ‘midnight buffet’????? Read Less

The positive is that the ports of call we loved ... Amber cove and Grand Turk. Our cabin we had was a grand suite u98 . Room was clean and comfortable. Out cabin Stewart was great along with the dining staff . On the down side. Food on buffet was fair at best. Terrible selection. Dining room was hit or miss. 2 nights paid for an upgrade for surf and turf. One was good. The other was half the portion size. The last 2 nights dinner was good. Casino was way tight . Couldn't hit a nickel. . The worst part was the ride. This was my 5th carnival cruise with the last one being through hurricane Michael. This ship rocked horrible the whole cruise. Won't be going back to Elation.... But still like carnival. I think this ship needs overhaul to stabilize it better . Going through hurricane Michael was smoother than calm seas on the Elation Read Less

We chose a short 5 day cruise with 2 beach stops to relax after a 6 month chemo. Treatment. We chose an inside cabin which we only did once before( and never again ) to keep costs down. Embarkation was smooth but not the seas that first night. To quote george costanza "the seas were angry my friend", rocking and rolling. This added to the pleasure of an inside cabin. Our first beach day was scrubbed due to high seas not condusive for a tender operation, instead we headed to nassau bahamas for an overnight stay. Our sea day was cancelled and replaced with a stay in freeport bahamas. The main dining was adequate, nothing special, however the brazilian stekhouse, and le bistro were excellent. The buffet area is small and there is additional buffet dining at the rear of the ship. On two occasions we found hairs embedded in our food, which was a turnoff. We found some of the higher level staff lacking in courtesies when asked about certain conditions. The entertainment on board was excellent. We loved the high energy dance group and their production shows were top notch. Duran howard the comedian was excellent with humorous situational comedy that was very creative. We saw both his regular show and his adult only show. Both top shelf. WE HAD A RELAXING TIME AND HAVING NO EXPECTATIONS, WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED, AS SENIORS THAT CRUISE AND STILL LIKE TO HAVE FUN Read Less

The food was horrible, service was not great, front desk was no help at all. The boat was rocking more than any boat I ever been on the first and last night. When I went to the front desk in the middle of the night to get water because my girlfriend was throwing up from all the rocking they sent me to the back of the ship. Not to mention water isn't included on your all you can drink package, it cost about $7 a bottle. The ship went to their private island and then decided to cancel it last moment and we skipped on stop. I don't know if tips were paid before attending the cruise is the reason all the staffs were slow and not friendly at all, I would much rather they earn their tips. on the 4th day when we went to their private island my drink package did not work and when I asked why they said its not activated go back to the ship to see why its not working there is nothing we can do. Because you have to take a boat back to the ship and it would've took probably over an hour to do that we decided not to drink. When we went to the front desk after we boarded back on they said "there is nothing wrong with your card I don't know why it didn't work." They really didn't seem to care, didn't apologize, I wasn't compensated or anything. Overall probably one of the worst cruises I have been to. Read Less

To begin, embarkation was fantastic. We were met at baggage claim (Orlando) and taken directly to the cruise terminal where we left our bags at the bus. When we walked into the terminal around 11:30 it was full. We checked in, our number to embark was called, and we were onboard within 30 minutes. Everyone was friendly and everything we paid for was accounted for. When we walked on the ship it looked and even smelled very clean. Our room was ready at 1:30. We stayed in a balcony on the 8th floor. It was plenty spacious for the two of us and was very clean and updated. We spent two days on Great Stirrup Cay. Both days we shared the island with another ship. We participated in the stingray and kayak excursions. Both were fantastic. I was a little bummed when I saw the stingrays were in a cage, but once we saw the nurse sharks swimming in and out and held our stingrays, those judgements faded. The guys working there love their jobs and the rays. The kayaks were also fantastic, probably more so. They took us around the island, to a ship wreck, two natural beaches not available to the public, and pointed out a lot of marine life. Excursions aside, this island is absolutely gorgeous. We spent our days at the beach farthest from the tenders. Hardly anyone else made their way down that far. You can also snorkel around the rocks and see thousands of fish! We had the Mahi Mahi sandwiches from the food truck and they were delicious. I will advise - around lunch time there is a long line for a drink, but otherwise, lines were average. Entertainment - the shows were good. The comedian was funny. However, the pianist and guitar God (Jason) that play at Windjammer make up for any shortcomings found anywhere else around the ship. Food - we ate at Seven Seas three nights and found the food to be quite good. Service was friendly and expedient if needed. We also ate at Le Bistro and Moderno, both were good, but nothing beat the steak at Le Bistro. My only qualms were with the ship layout and room steward. The layout was very choppy. Walking around or through restaurants to get somewhere got old but not annoying enough for me to be angry. Our room steward had a few miscommunications with us which were annoying but nothing I can’t chalk up to an English as a second language issue. Also, every single other employee on this boat was extremely friendly and accommodating. For disembarkation we chose the DIY option. We rolled our suitcases off the boat on our own and we were back through customs and back to reality in less than 20 minutes. Read Less

This was our first cruise. So we didn’t know what was normal and what wasn’t. But wow. There are some issues here. First of all, as newbies, as the ship was leaving, we went up to a viewing point to watch us sail away from Florida. To our absolute horror we watched miles of sewage being dumped by our ship. I’m scarred for life after seeing this. I immediately started googling to see if this was allowed and sure enough, to my absolute disgust, it is. And it was done so blatantly: an enormous amount of sewage being dumped as we sailed away. No care that excited passengers would be watching. THAT is what we watched as we sailed away on our first cruise. I’m home now and still traumatized by such blatent pollution to that beautiful ocean and all the creatures within it. Why it isn’t dumped in a more responsible way when it sits at port for four hours is beyond me. And while I obviously don’t know if it was “treated” it sure looked raw. Another issue. After two days of suffering through an issue that we just thought was “just the way it is” we learned from a fellow passenger that no, it is NOT normal for our bathroom to smell like sewage all the time (which permeated into the cabin). Fortunately we had a balcony door that we could open for fresh air. We mentioned it to guest services who seemed very ‘meh’ about it but said they would send a plumber up. To our knowledge this did not occur and no one followed up. I make this assumption because the problem was never rectified. The entire duration of our stay we suffered through the smell of sewage in our cabin. 9039 was our cabin. Another issue. We were at the pool area when we saw a girl get so intoxicated that she sat on the backside of a pool lounger and urinated right onto the chair and pool deck. I brought this to the attention of a staff member (Towel guy) and then went to the opposite side of the ship to avoid the area and to ensure it got cleaned. The only question he asked me was where was the girl who did this. He never summoned anyone, the pool deck was never cleaned. I stayed for one hour. The chair that was soiled was simply stacked on top of the others. The deck never mopped. I’m absolutely disgusted and scarred for life from watching this and how it was handled. Shame on them for allowing passengers to get so intoxicated. And double shame on them for not cleaning it up. An employee was told. And he did NOTHING. Good thing I was forced to pay a service fee to allow equal tipping to all of their employees. Another issue with the pool, not once during our four day cruise did I see anyone testing the water quality despite the multitude of people always in there. This should be done not only for a visual assurance for passengers but also because to not do it is disgusting. This should be done SEVERAL times per day, given the number of people using the pool. The Casino REEKED of smoke and is a common thoroughfare. Not impressed that we had to walk through there on a fairly regular basis just to get where we wanted to go. So that is my review. For my first experience this was very disappointing. That’s unfortunate because the staff and other service personnel were excellent. Oh. One more thing. Nassau. OMG. Although the water is beautiful we didn’t feel safe for one minute after we docked there, hustled every 30 seconds, it’s a big safety issue, I don’t even know why they go there. Their private island: Great Stirrup Cay was much safer and more inviting. I would rather do that two days of that vs putting myself through the stress and chaos of Nassau. Read Less

We were very underwhelmed by our cruise. We had a balcony room towards the front of the ship. The room was clean, but nothing spectacular. The TV channels were almost non existent, we had 2 movie channels and 1 sitcom channel, the other few channels were related to the cruise. The beverage staff was slow and constantly forgot your drinks. There was little to no entertainment on the ship. The smoking section was so small there was never enough seats for everyone to sit. Additionally, you weren’t allowed to smoke at the bar that was located in the smoking section. Food was mediocre and the service one night at the four seasons was horrendous. We were there for almost two hours after being seated and it wasn’t because we couldn’t decide what we wanted to eat or drink, it was because our server kept disappearing. I will definitely not be going back on a Norwegian Cruise. Read Less

We caught the cruise bug a while back (2014) and this was our 7th cruise We have sailed Disney, Princess, Carnival but have sort of settled in on RCCL for various reasons. We have been on small ships (Empress of the Seas) and up to the Freedom Class (Freedom and Independence). We typically have sailed with kids (teens) but this was our 25th anniversary cruise so just me and the wonderful wife. This cruise was book over a year ago and I chose the Harmony OTS based on dates, ports and accommodations, plus price (book early). I also wanted to try one of the OASIS class ships. We had a balcony cabin (8540). This cruise was in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary so just my and my amazing wife took this trip. Pre-Cruise / Embarkation: We flew into Orlando the day before, rented a car (Hertz) and drove over to Daytona Beach for the day. Had a nice time and good meal at a favorite of ours “Aunt Catfish’s”. We stayed about 10 miles South of Port Canaveral using Marriott points I had. Next morning drove to the Port Canaveral Hertz return which was ½ mile from the port entrance. They shuttled us over where we handed our luggage over the to porters around 10:30 and we were on the ship less than 30 minutes later. Easy Peasy! My wife has celiac, so she cannot eat gluten and we informed out wait staff in the MDR on our first night. We never had to tell another sole after that. We had the early fixed dining and our waiter (Adrian) and section Head Waiter (Taylan) bent over backwards to accommodate her dietary restriction. Taylon would bring the menu to my wife for the following night and told her to order anything she wanted, and he would be sure they made it gluten-free. They even made French Onion soup of her one night with gluten-free bread. I could name numerous other items as week but generally anything on the menu she wanted, they made it GF. We even ate at Wonderland one night and it was AMAZING. Not for the meat and potatoes crowd but if you enjoy culinary adventure, this place is a MUST. Our waiter there, ‘Junior’, was fabulous and had a great sense of humor. I highly recommend Wonderland. We only ate in Windjammer for lunch on our first day and breakfast on our last day and it was very good as well. We ate breakfast and most lunches in the MDR. My only issue with the meal was our first night in the MDR where I ordered escargot, which I do every time when it’s on the menu and it was actually bad for some reason. Anyway, I ordered it again following night(s) and it was like I remember it being on past cruises. Yummy! Read Less

To start..the boarding process was easy. $15 per bottle of alcohol to bring onboard..total crock! Getting into our room was easy..getting our bags delivered to the room took forever..thought our bags had been lost it took so long and we tipped the guy at the terminal. Food that was available was a buffet..no pizza place. That would be the Biggest disappointment of the entire cruise..I've been on 2 other cruises..the Pizza place was my #1 spot..pizza whenever you want it..not This cruise..pizza was offered at very limited times and it wasn't very good. Only late night option was a Sports bar or Room Service that costs $8 every time you utilize that..pathetic! That was another change from previous cruises..room service was included! Every person is charged $15 per day on the cruise that covers gratuities..was not aware of this fee that was created mid 2019. The promotions given were very hard to take advantage of..free excursions..hard to sign up for and very limited options. Have basic options like bike/scooter/ATV rentals..not many people want to be guided..give us the way to see more and take advantage of our time while visiting. The special dining was the highlight of the cruise..we did Hibachi and Cagneys Steakhouse..Solid!! The chefs from Hibachi were great..put on a fun dinner! Final stop of the cruise was cancelled because it was "too" windy..we go to our balcony..barely any winds..turned out to be a beautiful day..but we get another "Fun day at Sea" This cruise was to celebrate our Honeymoon. Neither one of us had ever sailed Norwegian Cruise Line so we were excited to embark on something new for both of us! Unfortunately it was a huge letdown. Do not plan to sail Norwegian again! My husband and I booked this cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We have cruised before on Carnival, Celebrity and Disney. This was the first cruise since our honeymoon without the kids. My husband and I heard good things about Norwiegian and were looking forward to it. The check in experience was pleasant and quick. We sat down to wait for boarding and saw other people had maps of the ship. My husband and I went back to check in and got one. Getting on the ship ws easy enough however, once we boarded no one new where to go, where we were allowed and no staff was giving anyone any direction. The staff said welcome and then let all of the patrons wander aimlessly. The staff stopped people that were going to places they were not allowed but gave no direction. I finally asked where are we allowed to go? Once we were told we could eat luch my husband and I went to the dining room. I asked about how a selection on the menu was prepared. The server could not answer. This was a regular occurance in the main dining room. The whole cruise took this tone. Service was lacking and slow. The agents even assigned to guest services could not answer simple questions. Bartenders complained about long hours and telling customers rudley to wait. My husband and I never even met our room steward or knew his/her name. There was nothing on this cruise to make you feel special just that we were inconvienent and they are overworked. One staff member Donna was spectacular. When we had a horrible anniversary dinner in the specialty dinning restaurant the Bistro she invited us back and made it right. She was caring and took pride in her job At the spa I got a facial with a skin analysis and didn't receive all the services. At the end when I got my bill we were charged $48 for drinks that were included in our package. It took 20 min to get it cleared up and we were late leaving the ship. Truly worst cruise ever!!! Choose because we only wanted a short cruise and Key West was the deciding factor. All good. Great service, wonderful food. Easy on and off at all stops. Entertainment in the theater was amazing. Most talent we ever saw on the seas. We did find ourselves searching for something interesting to do several times. The best place to be at night after shows was the Bliss lounge or the Windjammer lounge. Unfortunately way too many people and not enough seats, and seats were on top of each other. We were invited to a private cocktail party with the captain. Would have been a great experience had the captain and most officers actually acted as if they were pleased to see us. Will pass on cocktails with the captain in future cruises. The casino is always happy to see us! Much more so than this captain and the other officers were only following his lead. I can almost hold my breath for 1/2 hr, suy he could force a smile or a hey, hi you doing or something. Very uncomfortable situation for us. Felt awkward. Read Less

I chose this cruise because I have use three other cruise lines and I wanted to compare them all. The Sun vessel is a older and smallest ship I have ever been on. So that was the first negative thing. The crew seemed to be tired and the Stirrup Cay island is not ready for a large crowd. We arrived to the island after 1pm and our only adventure was a ride on a wave runner at 1:45 pm. Once we returned from the ride they had put away the food and was closing several of the shops at 4:10pm. We was scheduled to be back on the ship at 6:00pm. So we didn’t get to enjoy anything else but the beach after that. The food on the ship was ok but the meats was dry from being under the lights too long. For breakfast they only had ONE cook preparing omelettes (two at a time) and only ONE cook making mini waffles (four at a time). Lastly the only smoking area was on deck 11 forward which was VERY windy. There was NO cigar bar inside. Read Less

Fantastic service, food and room was plenty spacious for my husband’s scooter. Fully handicapped accessible. Well laid out. Tons of storage space throughout closet and vanity. Nice living room area away from the bed with comfortable sofa and chair seating with a sturdy table. Room close to elevators. Room steward decorated for my birthday and the front desk provided a voucher for a free cake. Took it to the dining room and they allowed us to take it to the cabin after dinner that night. The shows were well done. Pool service stewards were friendly, attentive and courteous. Many activities options-not bombarded constantly with boring art auctions. Cruise Director Lutz has the perfect personality for her job. She is friendly outside of her “stage” performance and announcements. She was enthusiastic about her job. Thank you! My Husband and I only had a weekend to be able to celebrate our 10 year anniversary so we decided on this cruise and boy are we glad we did! This short cruise really crams in a lot. We did the key program, drinks package and unlimited dining plan which I highly recommend but even without those additions this cruise is really great. So much to do on board and very good entertainment going on non stop. We did blue lagoon island in Nassau which was awesome but with coco cay included you don't need to spend extra on excursions unless you really want to. The ship is so awesome you might want to just stay onboard in Nassau. The food in all of the specialty restaurants was really good. Especially Chops. Best food I've ever had on a cruise. The coffee was definitely best from the coffee shop on the promenade. The ride was a little bumpy at times but not too bad. We got a balcony room and it was really great. Plenty of room and beautiful views and our room steward Ketut always kept it very clean. Did the free continental room service to save time on the 1st morning and that was very good and convenient. Coco Cay was amazing!! I just wish we could have stayed there longer. Overall for such a short cruise this was really spectacular and I would do it again in a heart beat and recommend to anyone wanting a really fun short weekend get away. Read Less

This was our first cruise as a couple after 20 years or so cruising with family. We took our first RCCL cruise back in 1997 and have taken around 25 cruises in that time, around half of them with RCCL. It is sad to see how far this line is prepared to go, to erode the cruise experience totally. I'm sure those relatively new to cruising won’t know any different and so don’t know what they missed. First the good. The ship is a physical masterpiece and a tremendous feat of engineering (I work in the ship building business). Despite its size it was very crowded. Embarking and leaving the ship was exceptional with both taking less than 10 minutes. Airports could learn a thing or two here. The not so good. We had a boardwalk balcony (since all sea view balconies had sold when we booked). The balcony was fine, but we would not choose this type again for a couple of reasons. First, there is little privacy and secondly, there is a lot of noise. In our room, the air conditioning was not working and only really got sorted at the end of day 2. For interest, there were quite a few portable conditioners around the ship so perhaps ours was not an isolated incident. We had “my time” dining using the American Icon dining room. It might as well have been called “no time” dining, since there were no times available to book! On the first night, we queued for 30 minutes and once we were allocated a table, waited another 30 minutes to have our existence acknowledged. The food was bland and cold when finally delivered. We checked the menu for the rest of the week to see that it barely changed day-to-day. Under duress we purchased a dining package ($600+]. Here is where we feel RCCL have changed for the worst; the “extra-fee” restaurants are rather good, but basically offer no more than what used to be offered in the main dining room only a few years ago for no more than the cruise fare. We find it ironic that the line describe the eateries (main dining rooms, windjammer etc) as free dining....hmm, I think we have already spent a few $000’s of dollars for the pleasure! Unfortunately, eating in the main dining rooms, is no longer an “event”...unless you think a trip to Denny’s is an event. No disrespect to Denny’s as in fact we had a better meal on our way home there! Whilst we purchased the dining package, it didn’t stop the constant hard sell to buy it (for the first 4 days of the cruise), or to buy a beverage package, spa treatments or to buy a $35 kitchen tour etc. The whole constant up sell is tiresome and intimidating. Just another note, getting anything to eat after 9:00 PM is limited to pizza as even the windjammer is closed by then. Whilst having dinner in the main dining room on the first night, we noticed that the imminent Grease show had been cancelled and moved to day 7. (Coinciding with our dinner reservation on that day). On the second night, the Aqua show was cancelled, then on the fourth night, the skating show suffered the same fate. Ultimately all of the shows were squeezed into the last day. Grease was very good, as was 1887. The headliner show was an acquired taste (not ours) and Columbus we felt was rather poor. Unfortunately due to constant rescheduling we couldn’t see many of the other events as they were showing simultaneously. I’m not sure we will choose RCCL again simply because you can get an identical experience for much less money on lines like Costa and MSC, where the price paid = expectations. RCCL still charge premium prices for an ordinary experience and then have turned the up-sell into the reason for you to be onboard. They are prepared to spoil the experience to chase the last dollar. This was my 2nd time on Harmony (1st time was Nov 16'), and it was as good as I remembered the 1st time when it was a fairly new ship! Embarkation - smooth and quick, literally from curb to ship in less than 10 minutes. Keep in mind we were prepared with "Set Sail Pass" after completing online chick in, and passports! Ship - as amazing as it was 3 yrs earlier! Great décor, very neat, and flow was as good as I recalled. I have been on 3 of 4 Oasis class, and outside of first day (which is normal on all ships), it never seems like a ship with a few thousand onboard! Cabin - beautiful, and very spacious, with plenty of space to get situated for 7 days. My lady and I put away 4 full large suitcases worth of clothes, shoes, and toiletries, then easily hid the empty cases under bed.....comfortable as always! Balcony is a descent size, not too big and not to small. Food - Very good, not excellent!! Overall meals were good. Options were good, in either MDR or buffet/walk thru eating options. The only 2 complaints I have are; 1 the fact on this ship they seem to have less amount of omelet stations (only in MDR and Mini Bites on 15th floor) 2 MDR does not have many options as far as a "starch" (non-meat/vegetables). It seemed all my dinners had mash potatoes, to be fair I don't eat sea food. Entertainment - Very good!!! Grease, "1887" ice skate show, & "Fine Line" aqua show are all a must. All the other entertainment really depends, "Columbus" is really good, but headliner event varies! Activies - Excellent. Between the slides, zip-line, Flow-Rider, Ice skating, Mini-Golf, rock climbing walls, etc....there is almost too much!! Then you add cruise staff activities at the pool, promenade, theaters, etc.....Plenty of fun!!! Service - Excellent as always!! MDR staff were exceptional. Tidar & Ljubo were amazing, my lady and I wish we knew which ship they were gonna be on next so we could request them!!! Ports/ Excursions - Labadee is a favorite!! Old San Juan was nice but hours @ port were bad (2pm-9pm). Very nice to be steps away literally, from OSJ area. St. Maarten beautiful as always. We had great weather, so that helps! Overall I'd definitely go again, even if same itinerary, although prefer more ports, than 3 on a 7 day. If you have this many "sea" days this is a good ship for it. Read Less

Harmony. Cruise Sept 8,15-2019- Survey. * This was our 3rd sailing on Harmony, my wife & I have also been on the Oasis and the Allure several times, we are at the Diamond level.. We went on the Harmony again on May 3, 2020. My overall review on the Harmony.... * Coco Cay experience was Great!!! Beautiful island!!! Perfect Day at CocoCay.. * The Royal Caribbean staff overall on the ship seems very happy which in turn gives good service, from taking care of our room to the restaurants service. * For what ever reason the Beds are still very uncomfortable in our room. We have taken Royal Caribbean many times and this time the beds were not that comfortable. * My wife and I thought that the Entertainment was not up to par compared to the last time we were on the Harmony. Had no problem with the Entertainment on the Oasis and the Allure and the last time we were on the Harmony was very good and we have been on these ships many times before. The water show which was always very good wasn’t very good this cruise. Heard other people saying the same thing... * It seems as the wi-fi was not as good on the Harmony this time compared to other Royal Caribbean ships. This time it kept freezing up and was very slow. * Many times the elevators were not enough to handle the people on the cruise, had to wait a long time to use elevators. * Item of great concern to us was the designated Smoking Area by the pool area should be moved to another floor/level or another part of ship... It’s a shame that the Smoking Area has to be by the pool on the 15 Floor where Kids & Adults have to walk through this area and subjected to the smoke from the cigarettes/pipes & cigars, the smell is just horrible. Need to move to another area..... away from the pool area. * Lobster night was great and our waiters in the dining room were excellent and our room attendant did a great job with our room.... * Very disappointed with the Diamond Club on the Harmony, very small room compared to the Oasis & the Allure. The Diamond Room on the Harmony is about half the size of Diamond Rooms on the Oasis & Allure. The Diamond Rooms on the Oasis & Allure Have two levels/floors, the Harmony only has one level/floor. Also, very disappointed with the Casino regarding table games. On the Harmony Casino you don’t have a game named “Let It Ride”. There were at least 3 or 4 tables in the Casino that had dealers just standing there with no players at their tables. I have been on the Oasis & the Allure and they have the table game “Let It Ride”, it was very popular there. They should get “Let It Ride” card game on the Harmony. * Starbucks that’s normally on the Fifth Floor/Level like the Oasis & Allure was moved to Boardwalk on the Harmony, in my opinion this was a bad move.... It should be put back on the Fifth Floor/ Level.... There are some problems with the Solarium, there’s no pool as there is on the Oasis & Allure and there seemed to be a lot of kids in the Solarium very young age when there is a sign that states no children under the age of 16. Who is suppose to enforce this. **Even though we had some concerns as stated above we had a wonderful time on Harmony the week of, Sept. 8-15, 2019.. Harmony ship is amazing!! My wife and I are both Diamond Members..... Read Less

Background: This cruise was our first NCL cruise. We are four star (22 cruises) HAL cruisers. We chose this particular cruise as an impromptu getaway. Port Canaveral is an easy drive from our home and this cruise was more of a ship destination for us than a port destination. Given some of the dreadful reviews we had low expectations. We traveled in a Penthouse Suite therefore our experience may be a bit skewed from the other reviews due to the fact we were literally waited on hand and foot and we were able to escape the masses if we chose. I cannot say enough about our Butler and Concierge. They are indeed the most thoughtful, lovey and professional individuals we have ever met on the high seas. The Sun is an older ship (18 years) and was refurbished in 2018. The Sun's decor is a pleasing with lots of wood detailing. She sailed smooth with minimal motion or vibration. Her wear and tear appeared minimal however there was at times a strong smell of sewage in some of the hallways. On one particular evening, in our cabin, after several calls, (4 to be exact) to guest services, it was determined we required several members of the housekeeping staff to wipe down the cabin walls with a disinfectant as the sewage smell was overbearing. Hey, "Ship Happens" and due to the response of guest services and the housekeeping staff at 4 am, we were able to resume sleep and enjoy the next day. Ok, enough about that "Ship." Parking: Parking was plentiful and appeared safe in Port Canaveral Garage 10. Right across from the Ship. Embarkation: Outstanding Service all the way around - Note: Suite PAX have a separate check-in area. Here is where we first met who explained Suite offerings and from there we were personally escorted on board to enjoy a great lunch in Cagney's. We were in our cabin by 12:30p immediately thereafter there was a knock on our door and we met our Butler. Our luggage arrived by 2:30pm and the muster drill was outside on deck at 3:30pm until several rude and annoying late comers later - 4:20pm. What the hell is the matter with horribly ignorant people that you cannot get to a mandatory, well advertised and announced drill on time? (there I had my say;-). Dining: As Suite PAX we were able to dine in Cagney's for both breakfast and lunch, which we did on several days, of course that was great and we also had dinner there several times as well - absolutely exceptional fare and the service was impeccable. We did have room service twice. Francis handles this and it was perfect and on point both times. We had a couple lunches in Moderno, wherein you can make your own sandwiches, you will also find pizza here and it was ok. Moderno for lunch was always kept clean and fresh. We did have a breakfast once in the Garden Cafe (Buffet) however it was later in the morning and it was pretty good. We tried lunch the the GC one day but it was just a "Ship Show" so to speak as it was crowded and food appeared sloppy. We also ate dinner in the Sports Pub one night - service great but food was nothing special. We also had dinner in both Dining Rooms (Seven Seas and Four Seasons) Both were great but we preferred the atmosphere of the Seven Seas over the Four Seasons. Note: Shorts are thankfully not allowed in the Seven Seas (for goodness sake men, put some pants on for dinner:-). Bars - Most were always crowded, therefore always a wait time. Drinks were great and wine selection was plentiful. My favorite bartender is Sophia in the Champagne Bar before dinner. Rude dude later night bartender in The Bliss Lounge- you know what you did buddy. Entertainment - Was hands down just fun, great and entertaining. Note Suite PAX have special seating in the Theater so we had great seats for any night we attended. Pool Area - If you enjoy incredibly loud, ear piercing music, during the daylight hours, this is most definitely the spot for you! Me not so much, yeah like not at all. During the day the music is blaring, no kidding, and if the performers are there, well look out honey. Thankfully there are enough spaces on board the beautiful Sun to move away from the noise pollution or perhaps bring some earplugs.... Exercise options- The lovely Sun has a full and pretty wide Promenade for both walking and jogging, so if you are a walker or a jogger, you will be very happy. The gym is great as well. Plenty of up to date options. We did not join in an exercise group so cannot comment on that. Staff and Service- We found The Sun to have professional, wonderful, kind, caring, appreciative and proud staff/team members from the Captain to his entire crew! There were only 2 staff members we encountered that should perhaps find another profession, but who knows their struggles so who am I to say. In service you reap what you sow. So as a guest be nice, be kind, try some thoughtfulness because it typically goes a long way. It's so annoying reading some of these reviews about the staff/team members as these wonderful, hardworking folks work such long hours, doing repetitive back aching labor for minimum compensation. Oh and if you don't appreciate that commentary...tough, it's my review. Casino- Smoking is allowed - therefore we avoided. Art Show - Did not attend - shows are mostly during the afternoon hours. Shopping Area- It's laid out nicely - several nice pieces and unique items and they have fun games and giveaways. Disembarkation - Suite PAX are escorted off away from the masses. Huge perk! Would I/We recommend the Sailing on the Sun? Yes, Of Course, but only in a Suite:-) Note: I would have given this cruise an overall "Excellent" if it were not for the overbearing sewage smell issue in the Suite on that one fateful night. This was my husband and I first time on a cruise we loved everything about this trip! Didn’t even want to get down to go back home, would totally go again!!! Super good with service and cleaning. Room was cleaned twice a day in the morning and half way through the day. Staff made us feel welcome and treat us great. Getting down at the ports was really easy and we had no trouble with anything. we did two excursions one in costa maya and other in Cozumel both were great. When choosing what you want to do just make sure you read everything and choose the one you want less expensive ones are also super fun. I Only thing I would had change was that I should had got a drinking package to expensive if you try to just get drinks while being there but other then that everything was great. It was a great way to get away from everything in your day to day live and spend time with your significant other. My husband loved it also well. Read Less

I got an amazing deal last minute so expectations were not high. we were previously on the all inclusive as a group of 25 in June for graduation. This time maybe because we spent more time on the boat . Buffet: Food was ok never fresh. Variety did not exist. one plus- Ice cream always available and they never ran out of cones. Sports bar food you ordered was good warmer but still not hot to be made to order food. Main Dining: we had an amazing server Raul and food was good. Desserts were best! Carrot cake and banana split my favs. Entertainment: was good always get a good laugh out of the game shows. Live band was good too. Pools are small and overcrowded on sea days but we waited til later afternoon and enjoyed a little time. I was presently surprised with the inside cabin 9129. Definitely more spacious than oceanview that we had in June. Room was always clean and fresh I think she knew when we were gone because I only saw her the last two days. ***completely upsetting was "free offer of bev package" was not really free service charge of 20$ a day on top of the regular gratuity charges of $15.00. Add those together and you are paying 35$ a day for services that can be good at times but majority of servers don't deserve tips because they have attitude because you have the drink package. A weekend get away cruise for my Husband and I kid free! My husband pre checked in which you must do! We were on the ship in 5 minutes! We had an interior room which was great, I like the class shower doors, slept well with No windows and the room stayed cool. Plenty to do! Do not miss the Love and Marriage game show and comedy show if no kids. We did the sushi class, made 3 rolls! But have to eat there was stuffed! I hear a lot of complaints about the food not being good in the main dining room but we enjoyed it. Not a fan of Nassau just went and got a drink and souvenir and got back on ship. Did not pay for anything at Coca Cay enjoyed the beach and new pool, food was great, a lot of choices get the cheese sticks! Read Less

I seem to be one of the only people left in this world that have not been on a cruise and it was time for me to get away and enjoy some grown up time with my love. I had to get away from town so I would not think about work and I always wanted to see the crystal clear water. This ship was like a mini city on the inside! Absolutely beautiful with a team of crew members that worked together like a well oiled machine. I think I only encountered two that were not in a good mood, but I don’t know what’s going on in their lives right now so I can’t judge. Vincent took care of our room and made sure I had my extra pillows. He always had everything ready for us and would greet us with the most amazing smile. He will be going places some day. That is an amazing and kind soul. The wait staff at dinner was superb! We had the same table each night so we got to know our servers. The meals were more delicious then expected. The marriage show was funny followed by a an interesting comedy show. Great job Mariner Crew. I will definitely be back some day.... when I can afford the tickets. I have to be a good mom and bring my daughter (17 yr old) on the next one. Read Less

We book this cruise last minute. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary. Embarkation was smooth. We had a balcony cabin 0225 which was nice, but the location wasn't the greatest because we were under the pool deck and could hear the party at night and them setting up chairs early in the morning. Our room steward didn't talk much but was helpful and kind. The food was "ok" . We had a meal at Cagney's which was our best meal. We had had breakfast one morning in MDR and enjoyed the experience . The staff in the MDR were awesome!! We stopped in the Keys, Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau. We really enjoyed Great Stirrup Cay. When we stopped in Nassau we booked an excursion for Blue Lagoon. We really enjoyed our day there! Beautiful water and being able to see dolphins up close without having to pay extra. Disembarking was interesting. We did self assist and were some of the first in line. But they had a completely new process with passports. It was a facial recognition and it started messing up soon after a few people went through. Thankfully we were at the front of the line and were able to get off quickly. Not sure how it was going to go for others, cause it was SLOW. All in all a wonderful time! Read Less
