A Delightful Short Voyage

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Norwegian Sun

We chose the Norwegian Sun with the encouragement of a friend who wanted to see Havana. The four of us had a good cruise on this recently refurbished ship. The public areas were updated with cheerful colors and yet remained comfortable and welcoming. The cabins were clean and comfortable, and the cabin stewards were very attentive and efficient. We had one inside cabin and one balcony room. ...

No Common Sense

Despite this being an Open Bar cruise, I was not allowed to bring my six pack of Diet Dr. Pepper onboard in case I was trying to smuggle alcohol onto the ship. I fully understand and support all efforts to stop guests from bringing on alcohol when the ship is selling it. But when they are giving it away to all guests of age, why stop someone from bringing in a soft drink that isn’t available on ...

Norwegian sun review ... All ... A 13 day cruise was long but we packed plenty of clothes, no problem there. Went with the all you can drink alcohol package and would to that again, so much easier. The cruise director, jaimy, is weak with very little communication skills, as is her assistant. Saw them around the ship but they offered very little. *entertainment was limited to only a few ...

Wanted to see Panama Canal and this cruise was just perfect. The Panama canal was just awesome. Swimming with the dolphins was just the best time. Overall this was the best cruise I have taken. The crew were very helpful. The cabin was kept clean and inviting. Food was fabulous. Loved the Bistro. Friendly people. Would chose NCL for all my cruising vacation. I traveled with many friends ...

Better Than Expected Ship, while Havana was Disappointing

We had some credit left from our Irma NCL Escape cancelled trip from a year ago. Used it on the mid September NCL Sun voyage to Cuba. Embarkation and Disembarkation was easy and well run. 20 to 30% vacancy level meant no crowds all week in any lines or venues. Ship is older but the recent refurbishment was well done. Inside and out, the ship felt brand new. I suspect we have done 30 ...

We were planning to take a vacation, my fiance and I. We made our reservations 2 days prior to ship and we had no problem at all. Our emails were responded very quickly and our reservation was confirmed that same day. Our guide was awesome, he gave us a lot of useful info, funny facts and he wanted us to travel around more "freely", so we took walks (being cautious of course) without ...

NCL Sun to Cuba!

NCL Sun to Cuba! Our drive from SW Florida to Port Canaveral was easy. Once on I-4 we got off onto rt-417 south of Orlando, saving at least 15 minutes in traffic. It connected to rt-528 for a straight shot to pier 10. With thanks to Michelle H at check in, went from the garage at 1130 to lunch on board at 1155. A very pleasant discovery at lunch, all alcoholic beverages, except call ...

This was one of our better cruises. The three ports of call were all excellent. Really enjoyed Key West and Havana. Had been to Great Stirrup Cay before. Enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. It's a great beach day. In Havana during the day, we took a private tour and it was fabulous. In the evening we weren't to a cabaret show (through the ship) at Hotel National. It was the ...

We have cruised with Norwegian on the Escape and the Pride of America so my expectations were high. The Sun is a bit smaller but nice size. We were able to get the layout fairly quickly. Stayed in cabin 9203 at the front of the boat. Spectacular views and the room was quite nice. One draw back staying in this room is we found we could not use the light on the deck when the boat was sailing. ...

Above all expectations

I chose this cruise purely based on itinerary. However, the ship exceeded all expectations. Cabin 6009 was great for two (non couple) travellers, we had plenty of room between beds and loads of storage. The forward location on deck 6 was quiet but convenient. I only ate in Seven Seas and was impressed with both choice and quality. I spent most evenings on the back dec having a cigar and a couple ...
