Many time cruiser but first on the Royal mega-size. Exceeded expectations, yes there are 6000 people but they're spread out and there are some nice places to hang out without crowds like the Central Park.
Had five grandchildren along (ages 3 to 14) and they all found fun things to do. Coco Cay day was impacted by cold rain but I'm sure when the weather is nice it's even better.

Chose this cruise because of the itinerary and price. We found the overall ship to be in good shape and clean. The staff was excellent and very helpful. We arrived in Orlando late Thursday night, picked up a rented car and drove to Hyatt Place in Titusville. (The car they gave us had 82K miles on it shook the entire ride—they got an earful). The staff were always kind and helpful. The ship was VERY clean and safe. My main complaint is that 85% of the seats in the English pub POKE YOU on both sides when you try to sit in them. I commented on this to fellow attendees and they all moaned about the discomfort of that pub's chairs. The obvious is "Don't sit there!" My #1 criticism about this ship was the elevators...so really, that's a pretty good thing. That said, I don't recall a ship with consistently longer wait times than this one. I don't know what the reason for this is (programming maybe?), but it was enough that we'd usually end up bailing and take the stairs. Not a huge deal, but it would be if we had strollers/wheelchairs etc.

I've found you either love cruising, or try it and find that cruising is not for you. We fall into the former bucket and have been on 20 odd cruises over the years. We've sailed with NCL, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Princess, and generally find more similarities than differences across lines. That said, we tend to prefer NCL.

Casino Comp - Quick getaway
