Wonderful, relaxing cruise
"I know the cruise lines have cut back to save money as they try to recoup some of their loses due to the pandamic shut down, but we are paying a fair price for our vacation and there is no excuse for the quality/quantity of the food served to be cut.The show the last night had live music with one of the bands on board adding to the show which made it great...."Read More

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Magic

I wasn't sure what to expect after not cruising for 4 years and reading some negative reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful cruise! This was our first time out of Port Canaveral, but the boarding process went smoothly. We had an 10:30 check in time and were on the ship by 11:30. We had to wait a bit because the cruise before us was completely full - just like ours. But ...

This cruise ticked off more of our county/port destination list. Amber cove was nice and clean. The lazy river pool was relaxing but with 2 ships in port that day got very crowded by midmorning. Everyone seemed to be having fun. Port of LaRomana was interesting. Did the Catalina Beach break. You are bused for about 5-10 minutes over to another port and are ferried to the island. The water ...

Carnival Shows Just How Cheap It Can Get

We chose the Carnival Magic for the itinerary which included the Southern Caribbean islands of Aruba and Bonaire. It hadn't been an issue on previous cruises, but this cruise was short on entertainment during the day. We could only play so many trivia games before deciding to seek a more port-intensive cruise in the future. Trying to sit by the pool was useless. The passengers were up first ...

This was our 23 Carnival cruise and was extremely disappointed. Upon our first use of shower the bathroom flooded. The first meal staff was scraping and stacking our plates at our table as we ate desert. We were served raw and I mean raw meat twice on lido. The eggs looked like soup. Everything was Luke warm at best many items have been removed. Only half the buffet was open on a full ship. ...

This was our first cruise since February 2020 -- we had five cruises cancelled over the (to date, still ongoing) pandemic. (As a point of reference: we've done 27 cruises prior to this on Royal, Carnival, Celebrity, and HAL.) About ten days prior to sailing, an appellate court struck down the mask mandate for public transportation (this will be relevant later). Due to dropped balls on our travel ...

We always try to cruise after the winter months we have a small group and have been doing this for years. This year was much anticipated since many were cancelled last year. Having said all that I must say I was disappointed on a few things, First and foremost the internet or should I say the lack of. Another item I was totally amazed by was the food portions at dinner my on entre came with ...

WE were happy to get back to cruising despite covid restrictions. We knew things would not be the same as precovid but did not feel it would be a bad vacation. Most people followed the rules ,but as always some onboard put themselves first and tried to skirt the regs. The food on this cruise was good esp. Guys burgers and barbeque. The entertainment was sub par ,but that was the only thing we found ...

Both of us are Diamonds and Casino at Sea members so we did get some perks, like free laundry and a Captains Lunch for Diamonds and Platinums. We got a great casino offer (free room and drinks in the casino) for this cruise actually had a good time in the updated two level (smoking on 5, nonsmoking on deck 4)casino. Great new games and terrific hosts there. The Good: As usual, Carnival has ...

We choose this trip because it was 3 port's we had never visited and a ship we hadn't sailed on before. Our cabin was on the 2nd floor which was a cove balcony overall the cabin was nice but needed some updating the furniture on the balcony was old and had paint splattered all over it and hole's in the seats the floor of the balcony was molded around the edges looked like it hadn't had a good ...

Budget Cuts Noticeable - Still a "Fun" Ship

We just returned from our "Quad Cruise to Aruba". Myself and three of my twenty-something friends booked this voyage a few months out after getting a great price on the itinerary (Aruba, Grand Turk, Curacao) Boarding the Carnival magic was seamless and within a quick look around you can tell that you are on a ship that is a significant departure from the older Carnival ships. The theme and ...
