Just got back from a great 5 day cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy. Just wanted to provide updates as the reviews/research that I did before going on wasn't the most accurate/outdated.
Departed out of Port Canaveral, FL with my family of two kids (ages 3 and 6) and husband. Ports included Freeport, Nassau & Half Moon Cay.
We've previously sailed on 2 Princess Cruises and 1 Royal Caribbean and this ...
We decided to try Carnival again after our first cruise a few years back. The first one was out of Tampa and we were going to be visiting Grand Cayman and Cozumel. This was our first cruise and as you can imagine we were initially amazed by the entire experience.
However, once the cruise was underway we were less thrilled as the ship felt very crowded (cannot recall which ship it was but it ...
We booked this cruise to celebrate our son's graduation. For 4 travelers, we had 2 Ocean View cabins on Deck 5 (Main) and were very pleased with the location and the big window.
We usually book a balcony, but this was fine for a short cruise. There are a very limited number of balconies on this ship. This cruise was the winner of the easiest boarding process. It was also the winner of the ...
I took my 81 year old Mother on a cruise for her birthday on the Carnival Ecstasy and it turned out not to be so "happy" after all. I am normally a very positive person, especially when on vacation, but Carnival made this cruise very had to stay that way.
There are a few positives:
1. Fastest embarkation I've ever had. The port crew are awesome.
2. Room steward was very attentive and ...
I did not have high expectations for this cruise based on some of the reviews that I read. There were five of us that went on the cruise and we all agreed that it was absolutely a great, great cruise.
We booked about three weeks before the cruise and got what we thought was a great price; but we had to let Carnival pick our cabins. We thought we may not get cabins near each other; but ...
Embarkation for me was a snap. I'm "Diamond", and was escorted through the embarkation process, which only took about 10 minutes, from the time I went through the doors of the terminal, until I set foot on the ship. I went directly to my cabin, which was ready, and spotless. My only complaint at all, with the cabin was that the bath room was smaller than any other Carnival ship that I've ...
Overall we were pleased with our cruise. Stayed at the LaQuinta the night before and got the parking and shuttle thrown in with the deal. Hotel was fine but our return shuttle to the hotel was very late. We were literally the last persons waiting for transportation. There was three ships in and I assume they were simply overwhelmed.
Embarkation was great. Best ever. Nice new terminal and the ...
Twenty three friends took advantage of a Carnival super sale as we all live in Florida and are able to do last minute cruises. The reviews have been mixed so I had low expectations, focusing on just having a good time with friends. The ship is clean, clean, clean! I have never seen as much cleaning going on at all times as on the Ectasy.
Meals - None of us are "gourmets" and just enjoy "regular" ...
Our cruise was our first real vacation in ten years and we were all VERY excited. I almost allowed the negative reviews about the Ecstasy ruin my cruise before I ever set sail.
I (41) cruised with my husband (39) stepdaughter (16) and daughter (6). We drove down from GA the day before and spent the night at the Raddison at the Port, we took the shuttle over the dock the next morning. The ...
