My husband & I have cruised previously but have not been on Carnival since a Med cruise on the Magic- 10/13. I was a little apprehensive prior to the cruise. There has been a lot posted on Cruise Critic regarding recent changes on Carnival ships. EMBARKATION: We purchased Faster to the Fun & for us, it was a good value. Embarkation was slightly delayed on this cruise. I was told that it was due ...

9 Day Dream Re-positioning to New Orleans

We had a WONDERFUL cruise on the Dream! Embarkation was fairly typical, got to the port around 11:30am, was on board eating lunch at 12:45pm. The staff on board were all amazing! Maybe it was because we were on for 9 days, but we felt we got more personal service from all of the bartenders, wait staff, and cabin stewards. We stayed in room 2376, Cove Balcony. It was a great room. About 30 feet ...

Check in went quickly. After a short wait we had our boarding photo taken and boarded the ship. We then had another photo taken with a green background. It was for facial recognition of the photos that will be taken on the ship. We did the usual. Stare at the atrium on our way to the lido deck for some lunch. Not much food was ready yet. We purchased some bottomless bubbles stickers while ...

I chose the premium vista balcony on deck 7 for many reasons.

Booked a Premium Vista Balcony, #7454. All rooms of all categories were available when I booked over a year in advance. I chose the premium vista balcony on deck 7 for many reasons. I've stayed in the Grand Suite and yes the room is big, but the balcony is only wide, not deep, and doesn't get much sun. My wife likes to sun privately, likes to stay away from the crowds and close to A/C and ...

My Wife and I just got home from our latest cruise with 2 other couples and great friends. We enjoyed the cruise and the time spent with our friends. The food was excellent service was great as every cruise that we have been on. The waiters and bartenders, and the people that took care of our rooms did an excellent job. When they would you meet you the would always call you by name. Even our ...

Everything about this ship and cruise was either very good to exceptional. Food - excellent in all venues. Excellent variety, taste, quality and quantity. Service - impeccable, steward, wait staff, and any others you could think of. Shows- all of our table mates agreed ( all experienced cruisers) that the shows were the best we have ever seen at sea of the song and dance variety. ...

Carnival Dream with babies and toddlers

This review is written specifically for parents who are taking toddlers and babies on board. We went on a 7 day cruise to Cozumel, Beliz, Costa Maya and Honduras in March 2011 on the Carnival Dream. On this cruise was my husband, two teenage sons (ages 14 and 17), two babies under age two (9 months and 20 months) and extended family. This was a family reunion vacation; otherwise we probably ...

Carnival Dream - Bigger is not always better

The Carnival Dream is a huge new ship, first setting sail in September 2009. It is beautiful and clean. The employees were friendly - including our room steward Abe from Indonesia. However, we found the ship to be too large. With 4000 passengers, too much of the space was for the cabins and too little for entertainment. One floor alone was dedicated to children/teenagers, featuring not one but ...

Carnival DREAM - 15-22 May - Great Cruise Overall

We departed on the DREAM on 15 May. We had a suite (for the first time) and thus had VIP check-in and debarkation privledges, so keep that in mind as you read the below review categories, provided with honest, candid reviews by topic: Embarkation: From Taxi to on-deck in the Lido was 20 minutes. Just real fast and real smooth. VIP check-in is really great. First impressions: Very nice ship; ...

This was my fifth cruise with Carnival and my husband's second. We had a balcony room on the Vista deck near the stairwell/elevators. We booked with a travel agent and specifically asked to be mid-ship on the Veranda deck so we were disappointed with this room to begin with, but it wasn't too bad, a bit noisy at times but ok. Our cabin Steward was Ari. Unfortunately, he was the worst steward I've ...
