Is The Dream a Dream?

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Dream

This was a repositioning cruise for the Dream as it moved from its former home port of Port Canaveral to New Orleans. The itinerary was: Embark Pt Canaveral, 2 sea days, Aruba, one Sea Day, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, a Sea Day and Disembark in New Orleans. Our first time on the Dream which came highly recommended by friends. So did we live the Dream or did the Dream turn into a nightmare? ...

We were on the Dream for 9 nights starting 4/5/14. We boarded the ship at Port Canaveral and then ended at New Orleans. My only complaint would actually have to do with the boarding but overall it went smoothly after they finally let us in. We went to Aruba, Jamaica, Caymans, & Cozumel. This was my 12th cruise on Carnival and I tell you that we had a really good time. We were joined by my daughter ...

BORING

There is only one word for this cruise experience “BORING”. The Carnival Dream creaked and banged causing us to have sleepless nights, the room air conditioner did not work properly, and the daily activities were limited. The morning activities did not start until 9:00 A.M. where on other ships the activities were too numerous that we had to choose between several and determine which ones we ...

We just returned from a week on the Carnival Dream. I travelled with my 2 sons (9 and turned 12 the day of debarkation). We had a wonderful time on the Dream. Embarkation and debarkation were both excellent. We had Fast to the Fun and got priority but the regular lines looked short as well. We were on the ship in 15 minutes and off in about the same amount of time. This always makes for happy ...

First of all you're on a cruise, how could you not be happy!! But I suppose the point of this review is just to give my opinion. I didn't find much to complain about on the Dream, our cabin was incredible. I loved the location. Cove balcony is the way to go. We were right behind the elevators which I initially thought would be a nuisance but I loved not having to walk far, the noise was not bad at ...

Carnival Nightmare

If you read about the Dream on cruise critic you'll know the dream is a blown up Carnival ship. This is true... the issue is the number of cabins and passengers blew up but the guest areas did not. There are a TON more people on the ship but only two pools. So many guests are in the pools the water is murky to the point where you can't see the bottoms. They were quick to close the pools each ...

We enjoyed this cruise more than any others in the Caribbean. The Carnival Dream was appropriately named; it is a Dream with beautiful decor and amenities, fantastic staff, and a great itinerary. We started our cruise with dinner in the Steakhouse on the first evening - great food and service and a warm, friendly staff. The entertainment on the Dream was the best we have experienced in several ...

We are in our early 40s with children ages 16 and 20. We also had our daughter’s boyfriend (19) along. This was our 3rd cruise with the prior being Carnival Triumph and Royal Adventure of the Seas. We flew into MCO the prior night and rented a van as I have many Hertz points from business travel. Because of this, we arranged for parking with the Radisson in Port Canaveral. Despite being shuttled ...

We had an amazing time. I will break it down by categories. Emarkation: so very easy. Everyone we spoke with was helpful and friendly. Somehow we got priority boarding and didn't have to wait to board. Ate lunch on Lido deck and then off to rooms. Stateroom: I was in 7249...inside room...surprisingly spacious and comfortable. Very clean and bright. Bath wasclean and big enough to move in. Plenty ...

I have sailed on 7 cruises, including 4 with Carnival, and last week's trip on the Dream, while not a nightmare, left much to be desired. Here are the more serious problems we enountered: Just minutes before we were scheduled to land at Mahogany Bay in Honduras, the captain announced he was diverting us to Port of Roaton, 15 miles to the south. The Mahogany Bay beach was the main reason we booked ...
