Why did we choose this cruise? It was at a convenient time. We disembarked from Norwegian Breakaway and went directly over to Carnival Breeze on Feb.1 2020. The ship was way too cold with freezing air conditioning everywhere. The only escape from the cold was outside in the wind. We both got horrible colds. We noticed other people coughing a lot (so it was not just us). The quality of the food was poor. The dinners seemed to be pre-cooked somewhere else and then just heated up on the ship. Very limited choices of foods. Breakfast cereals were only for kids. All the fresh fruits were un-ripe. The endless lineups for breakfast hot foods were very frustrating. Volume levels of shows and muzak in general was way too loud. No original music in the Theater - only CDs. One country western duo from Australia was very good. SERVICE WAS GREAT (something good to say about the cruise. Read Less

I traveled with my family of 6 and two other families for a total of 7 adults and 10 kids ages 3-13. We found the embarkation process quick and easy. Our rooms were comfortable (our family had adjoining rooms) with plenty of storage space - be sure to check under the sofa for two big drawers. Our room steward - Ma'Mun - was friendly and attentive. I was surprised to discover that he knew our names by day two! Our kids enjoyed the free room service for nightly milk and cookies (free until 10 pm). We dined at 6 pm each evening in the Blush dining room. We had 2 rounds tables and most nights, allowed our kids to take over one table. Our waitstaff (Leslie) went over and beyond to provide superb service to us all. They were very friendly, helpful and patient with the kids. The kids enjoyed acting like big people by placing their own orders and had fun chatting with each other. They loved 'Showtime!' and dancing with the waitstaff. It was fun trying new food, and the chocolate melting cake and baked Alaska were fabulous! My favorite entertainment was watching the violin trio Black Diamonds. They were fantastic! Our cruise director Nono was awesome! One of my grandaughters had an opportunity to chat with her and was thrilled to do so. The military event was special and a nice touch. There were three WW II vets on board! Our port of call experiences were enjoyable, again, the off and on boarding process was smooth. Pirate pizza and the self serve ice cream were huge hits with the kids. The burger I had at Guy's was delicious! Our kids spent a ton of time in the Waterworks, ropes course and sports areas. Our grandaughters loved participating in Build a Bear ($40). I did peek into the fitness area - it was surprisingly nice, outfitted with many treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes. My only disappointment and complaint is that the smoke from smoking areas permeated most of the ship. Smoking was allowed only n the casino inside the ship, but wafted out into the atrium ad shopping areas. More ventilation is desperately needed. Also, the amount of outside smoking areas on deck 5 made walking the entire promenade unenjoyable by having to walk through smoke infested areas. Although the daytime wait staff were quick to clear tables, I did not see tables being wiped down enough. On the other hand, I did see staff wiping down hand rails on the pool deck during the day. One thing I would do different next time (provided the smoking issue is addressed) is to forgo the Bubbles Package. I do not drink alcohol and did not drink enough pop to justify the expense. I drank no more than 10 sodas all week, sticking mainly to ice water. That amounted to roughly $30 for a Bubbles package that cost me $80. Water, coffee, tea (hot and iced), juices, lemonade and hot cocoa were all available, free and unlimited. Bottom line - our family had a nice trip, but the smoke issue has to be fixed before we will book on the Breeze again. Read Less

I have been on many cruises - all have been Carnival except I 2. I always choose Carnival because they are "FUN". We chose The Breeze for the itinerary. Truely wish I had stuck to a smaller ship. Not sure if the size of the ship accounts for the poor quality of food, poor service and lack of "FUN" on the Lido Deck. But this was only the minor part of disappointment. The Breeze has festering mold and whatever else in their air system. If it had only been my husband that had major and I do mean major upper respiratory issues - I would account it to his allergies - but reading all the number of upper respiratory issues Guests had on this cruise - it has to be something in their air system. They can't be oblivious to the fact they have an issue - and it is sad that Carnival doesn't do something about it so their Guests don't get sick. We did what we could - we changed rooms with our friends thinking it was the Lysol I sprayed to disinfect the room (yes I use Lysol at home and it doesn't bother my husband), the problem did not go away. We finally stopped room cleaning after the 2nd day hoping that would help - it did not. The only thing that helped was getting off the Ship. I was sick on both sea days - but I do have an open mind - and am accounting it to rough seas and sea sickness. Even reading the number of people who were sick outside of respiratory issues I will still say it was rough seas. I have never written a bad review about Carnival in all the sailings I have taken with them - so I am not one to just write a bad review. This is not to bash Carnival - it honestly is to hopefully stop other Guests from getting seriously ill on their cruise. As I said - the sub par food, lack of "FUN" we have always had on the Lido Deck and the not so happy staff may be accounted to the size of the Ship. Not sure how it can be - but it always hard to manage anything when the Staff grows in size - so I will account this part to the size of the ship. Will I sail on Carnival again - yes - will I sail on the Breeze - absolutely NOT until it goes into complete refurbishment or they cancel a sailing and thoroughly clean their air system and replace carpets etc. We all know this is not going to happen since they will loose revenue and have pissed off Guests who's sailing gets cancelled - so my recommendation is................sail on another cruise line or a different Carnival Ship. Consensus among some was that Carnival is implementing more cost cutting measures on board. Ship still in good shape and service from stateroom staff is still great, but availability of staff elsewhere can be lacking. Resupply of out of stock restaurant/bar items did not seem to occur during the cruise. The most obvious seeming cost cutting is the food; In the Lido, proteins, with FEW exceptions, are overcooked/dry, vegetables are high in starch with few green or fresh vegetables available outside the salad bar. Food served in Lido and Main Dining Rooms is room temperature. Wait times for delivery of food in the Main Dining Room and re-stocking of food in the Lido are extensive (may be another staffing issue?) Itinerary was great as was selection and quality of shore excursions. Entertainment and activities were average to good. Smokers "own" ALL outdoor starboard areas, making even a casual walk around Deck 5 problematic. Sensory Inclusive program timing by venue needs adjustment; those trying to start their day with a quiet cup of coffee are greeted by 90 decibel heard pounding music and a flashing bright visual display on the movie screen with Carnival FUN INFO before sunrise at 6AM. This was a 14 day Journeys cruise. With mostly older passengers and a ton of Platinum & Diamond sailing it was not your typical cruise. Embarkation was a dream. Debarkation was a nightmare...because of so many platinum (which I am ) and Diamond guests all trying to get off the ship ASAP when we docked in Port Canaveral. Not a normal situation but one I feel Carnival staff could have been better prepared for. The Breeze is in decent shape. Yes, there were signs of worn carpeting. The counter area in our cabin (6215) had paint on it and the coffee table had magic markers colorful scribbles on it. Everything was clean though. Our cabin was very close to the front of the ship. The first 2 days had high waves and wind and we really felt it (and heard loud metal crashing sounds) in this location on the Breeze. We are used to being near the aft of the ship. Advantage to our cabin 6215...near the secret front deck of the ship. Was handy for taking pictures pulling into ports. Overall, the staff were all friendly. Guest Services especially patient when my social media package kept glitching and not letting me on facebook. The woman who helped me twice was a doll! We never ate in the MDR but the steakhouse was excellent as usual. We ate at Cucina de Capitano several times. Bonsai Sushi and Seafood shack were also very good food (and appropriately hot or cold which is one of our gripes about the MDR). Also the lines were never too long in the Lido except for one day the deli line was long. Also they started running out of things about the 8th day into the cruise. No bananas, grapefruit, Avocados for the Turkey avocado sandwich at the deli! Ports were awesome since it was a Journeys cruise. St Croix, St Kitts, San Juan, St Maarten, Barbados, Tortola, Grenada, Martinique. I have been to all those islands before. The only excursion we planned ahead, and on our own, was a private boat charter from Tortola to Jost Van Dyke & the Soggy Dollar Bar. We booked the Kuralu Too and had 15 passengers on the trip to Peter & Norman islands for snorkeling and then to Jost. Entertainment: we did not do shows or comedy club. We did enjoy Dive in Movies and Trivia. Since Breeze is the only ship with Thrill theater we had to try that out. Hubby calls it whiplash theater...those chairs really whip you around! Don't go if you have back or neck issues, heart issues, are pregnant, etc. They never warn you about how jolting it can be. For better or worse: was kind of sad that there is not the usual seating areas along the promenade deck where you can sit and people watch! The bonus to that (for me) is there is no gauntlet of photographers to have to walk past on the Promenade deck every night asking if you want to have your photo taken either. One thing that bothered us the most was that almost every public area on the ship was Freezing Cold! Ocean plaza especially when you are sitting there to listen to a band or play trivia. Had to wear sweatshirt or sweater! heard the MDR was like a meat locker too. Overall, we enjoyed our 14 days on the Breeze. Glad we got the sail on her. Read Less

My husband and I chose this cruise, because we have had great Carnival experiences on other ships. Unfortunately, this voyage was not what we have previously experienced. We liked Nono, the energetic cruise director, the Playlist Players and Nick the piano player, but everything else, particularly the dining room was not good. First the staff in the Sapphire dining room was so disorganized and rude to us on the first night. They kept sending up and down from first to second floor, then placed us at the back of a long line. Secondly, the food in the Sapphire Room was consistently room temperature or just cold almost every night. The food itself was mediocre at best. Many dishes we ordered were missing components. They even ran out of Yankee Pot roast one night and served me a substitute with a tough thin piece of meat and lied, calling the it the Yankee Pot Roast. We complained and the dining room host served us the actual pot roast the following night, when we didn’t even want it. One night, we were seated at a table, with a waitress who was obviously sick, coughing frequently. She told us she had been sick, but was feeling better. She continued to cough constantly over our table. A virus was going around the ship, and they allowed this waitress to work. They want you to use hand sanitizer around the ship, but they allow sick people to touch your plates and food? The other truly bad experience was with our shore excursion called Rum And Bananas. We received a note in our room, that our excursion was combined with another group at an earlier time. My husband and I showed up at the pier early and we were instructed by a Carnival Excursion staff member to find a white bus bus at the end of the pier. There were numerous whites buses. Three other couples were there, also frustrated about not being able to find this excursion bus. We walked all the way in the rain back up to ship getting poor assistance. The other 3 couples and my husband and found out the bus left early leaving us behind. The bus then had to turn around about 10 miles out of town to return to the pier to pick us all up. The Carnival excursion desk woman hat the pier was rude to us as well as the tour coordinator outside at the pier. We had to argue to get some discount off of the excursion. The tour itself was rushed and cut short. The tour guide kept disappearing and people on the tour were confused. I actually followed the tour guide from another ship. Other people went to the excursion desk to complain after the trip. Lastly, the 5th deck and the Ovation theater were very cold every night. All in all, my husband and I will think twice before booking another cruise with Carnival. Read Less

• Inadequate emergency and evacuation procedures .No safety evacuation drill provided . I have written to Lloyds Register and Port Canaveral Authority to complain. • Inadequate security arrangements allowing me to access the bridge to protest to ships second in command. (I could have been a terrorist) • Inadequate risk management for Norovirus • Inadequate cleaning of cabins .Bathrooms not cleaned adequately. • Exposure to alcohol, smoking and gambling to minors .Only access to ship decks through casino for all guests . • Unauthorised deductions from credit card accounts in the form of excessive tips for services . • Gangs of teenagers intimidating passengers. • Tables uncleared in restaurants ,used crockery piled on table resulting in guests clearing tables themselves. • Poor standard of meals . This was a fast food cruise , burgers , pizza , fries were far better than food served in restaurants .So we ate mainly salads , when asked if the food was washed with fresh water we received no answers . • Smoking in unauthorised areas , ships stated controls not enforced . • Smoking on balconies , ships stated controls not enforced even after complaints .Smokers on balconies were informed who had complained ,so verbal abuse was aimed at us . This cruise was chosen as a Christmas holiday cruise with the family and celebrating a 50th Birthday as well. There were 4 of us and we had optioned for 2 rooms. Overall the cruise was a fun getaway to some amazing ports of call. I will have to say embarkation and disembarkation was better than I ever could have imagined. We literally were off the ship and in the shuttle in under 30 minutes by taking our luggage with us. We were in a suite and chose to bring them with us the morning we disembarked. Would definitely recommend that! We had 2 cabins with one being an Ocean Suite (7273). The other was an interior on the same deck for the kids to use. We are definitely spoiled with the size and amenities in the suite. Cannot see doing another cruise without being in one again. Great closet space and room to spread out. There were some issues with the room as the ship is in need of some repairs, hence the attention to detail comes in to play here some. The door to the balcony was not tightly secured all the way even with the latch being used. This was particularly noticeable on the first night while going through some storms getting out to sea from Canaveral. A bar in the shower also came loose. We notified our steward cabin (Ferry, who was awesome by the way,) and he got it fixed right away. Room Service was also a bonus. Quick, friendly and perfect for breakfast on port days. We have 2 kids/teenagers. One is 19 and the other 16. While there was a club onboard for under 18 year olds, there is not much for a 19 year old college student in terms of entertainment. (other than the casino) While I know this is a tricky age to be, this might be something that Carnival can look into as they are missing the boat there. The shows we attended we perfect for the cruise. The show "Flick" was well done and my wife really enjoyed the Motown Hits as well. The performers were really going all out to put on a class act and it showed. Well Done Carnival. We tried both the Italian and the Steakhouse Restaurants. Both were out of this world. While you pay for their services, they are worth every penny. Guy's Burgers are as advertised. Highly recommend them. The Starlight anytime dining was a perfect selection for us with our schedules and we ate there 3 out of the 7 nights. Food was good and service was OK. Just not up to the standards of the Italian or Steakhouse levels. The ports and excursions were what made this cruise go beyond our expectations. Cozumel, Isla Roatan, Belize on Christmas day and Porta Maya to close out the ports we visited this trip. We booked all our excursions through Carnival and it was a good thing. We were late getting back to port 3 out of the 4 days but had no issues getting back on board. From Horseback riding on the beach in Honduras, to Cave tubing and Zip-lining on Christmas Day in Belize was simply amazing. These excursions are the reason we cruise and Carnival partnered with some good ones. Overall excellent ports of calls. As for the ship and crew itself, it is very typical of cruising. Large, well portioned out, and has something for everyone. Some staff are overworked and it shows. Others are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make sure your experience is amazing. (Molly from the coffee shop.) The ship's layout and design are just fine. It is a bit outdated in some areas and is showing some signs of needing an overhaul but the vast majority is fine. Again, attention to detail is what is lacking and that may be due to an overworked staff. Overall this cruise was a 4 out of 5. Read Less

This was our first cruise. We enjoyed the dinners and evening shows but were disappointed that there were no events or clubs aimed at the 18-20-year-old group. Our kids were too old for the 17 and under clubs and too young for the 21 and over bars and Serenity Club. The Hot tubs were very 'cool' on all the decks except the Serenity Club and my 18-year-old was not allowed to join me! The fitness club was nice but was not open later in the night after the dinner hour. We were not able to work out if we went on an excursion and then sit-down dinner on the ship. One more evening limitation! The balcony cabin was larger than expected and one of the saving graces of the cruise. The stewards and waitstaff were amazing. We did not like the masses of people and always having to waite or be 'managed' by the schedule and 'sold to' every place we walked, especially on the 'fun day at sea' and in the ports. Our favorite part of the cruise was the excursions away from the ports but as with most of the cruise, everything was 'extra.' We may consider a cruise again, but definitely not on such a large ship, that rocked substantially, and with less structure and more inclusive. I think the final straw was being told we could carry off our luggage to exit sooner and to be out of our cabins early just to sit for hours before level 7 was called...after the checked luggage people disembarked!!! It was a true challenge to continue to 'go with the flow!' Read Less

He took care of everyone at our table very well and always said hello to us even around the ship if we saw him in another dining area. Lots of activities to do all the time. I would take this cruise again for sure. The port of call were great and loved every port stop. We travelled to Amber Cove, DR, St. Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk. I sailed in December of 2019 to the Eastern Caribbean for 7 days on the Breeze - the fourth Carnival ship I have sailed on. Carnival Breeze was the roughest ride by far - the first two days we did up to 45 knots to get to our first port of call, and the entire Breeze wallowed, shook and rattled at that speed, which made sleeping difficult. The Breeze is not an attractive ship. It's interior is VERY plain and predominantly light yellow, and it's decorations are sparse and cheap looking. It feels like a floating Motel 6. The Breeze is a very loud ship - all of the music in all of the locations was just a little too loud and bounced off of it's hard plain walls. The Breeze was the dirtiest Carnival ship I have been on - the carpets had stains on them, spots of carpet powder that were never removed, and guests leaving food like shrimp tails and pizza crusts in weird public spots. I got the impression that the ship is just too big for the crew to keep up with. Summary - The Breeze will appeal to cruisers who enjoy the latest in entertainment and on-board activities, which were varied and impressive. The Breeze will not impress cruisers who value ambiance, and will prefer the lavish decor of ships like the Carnival Miracle, which encourage the guest to explore it just to see details. Read Less

Taking my brother-in-law on the first cruise for his upcoming 70ty birthday. I wanted him to have fun and it is endless on a Carnival cruise. However, our first port experience was such a bummer it became an overwhelming complaint point in every conversation we shared with others on the ship. The destination called Amber Cove is not worth getting off the ship. It is the first cruise stop so you are anxious to begin the fun. Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic is a total rip off. Taking private cab rides for drives through communities is often a fun thing to do -- in Amber Cove - it is best NEVER to leave behind the confines of the "artificial village" created by Carnival. Cab drivers were asking for usurous fares for sightseeing virtually NOTHING! Their goals are to get you to be hustled by private vendors as they surround the car presenting themselves as offering native stones in jewelry pieces. The pieces are nothing but $1,00 store trash selling or $40.00 or more. Mine fell apart before I could put it on. There is only poverty and nothing of interest to see - my tour consisted of the cab driver taking me to see the bottom of a cable car building (I was so enthusiastic I almost jumped out of the cab). All sarcasm aside - Carnival needs to terminate this location on their port of call -- a bad taste is what most people came away with as well after talking in elevators and at dinner. This new app - Carnival Hub is dangerous. I found that out when my 24 year old son (mentally challenged) charged two alcoholic drink packages over the phone WITHOUT PERMISSION. I was able to get a refund for the one he charged for ME (a nondrinker) but he had unlimited - 15 a day drink access for 7 days on a cruise. To say it simply - he was WASTED and never left the ship or ate dinner or enjoyed anything with the family. A private booze fest for him and his friends. He will never ever travel with me again on a cruise after that experience. To prevent further charges by him I had to BLOCK my card so I had no charge privileges after first day. THank God husband was in another room and handled all of my future purchases. Carnival has found all kinds of ways to save money and extract your money and new cruisers really need to be cautious and check that account summary" daily. Casinos are the same - money drains, bingo is the same - not a decent return based on the numbe of peopld playing the game, quality of food is definitely lower quality than earlier cruises I have taken. The staff is still tremendous in all areas (although one or two exceptions); Cruise fun directors were very good and they kept the ship "partying" throughout the 7-day cruise. The shows need some updating and are poorly attended. It was throrougly enjoyalbe for the novice in our group - but the good ole days kept returning to our conversations. What Carnival "used to do." The VIP reception was just pouring liquor to groups already loaded with alcohol and enjoying free booze. The acknowledgment of the upper staff was watered down - the best part of the cruise is their introduction and our opportunity to clap and show appreciation -- I felt that was lost this time. Would I cruise Carnival again -definitely YES because I love the fun atmosphere and the clientele they attract (diverse and sometime unhinged which adds to the flavor of unabashed fun). I will just study the newer ports of call a little more carefully before deciding to get off the ship. Read Less

OVERALL: This was our seventh cruise with Carnival, our first on the Breeze. We try to take Christmas cruises, but this year couldn't make the schedule work so we chose an early December departure from Port Canaveral. We were not disappointed. For the most part, our fellow passengers were much more polite and well-behaved than those we normally encounter on Christmas cruises. This was perhaps a function of far fewer unsupervised children running wild while their parents are busy drinking. The Breeze itself appeared cleaner and better maintained than other Carnival ships we have sailed on, and the cleanliness continued throughout the seven day trip. Our Deck 8 balcony cabin was quite nice and was more spacious than similar cabins we have booked. The ship also felt less crowded than other similar Carnival ships. The activities were well-planned and it was rare that we did not have anything to do while aboard. The Carnival Hub app was a great benefit in that it provided an updated agenda of everything that was going on, as well as dinner menus. The app also allowed members of our party (four of us in adjoining cabins) to message each other while aboard. This app should be included in the cruise fare, but until it is, it is well worth the $5/device fee. Food quality and selection in the Sapphire Dining Room was always good, and with the exception of one night (we used the anytime dining plan), the wait staff was exceptional. The ship staff that we interacted with were always pleasant and helpful, although the Shore Excursions staff could not (or would not?) provide a simple walking map of Old San Juan. We had two unplanned delays due to medical evacuations, but these were managed exceedingly well and did not impact the trip. Cigarette smoke from the casino and the designated smoking areas continue to be a real problem on Carnival ships, including the Breeze. We would plan our routes around the ship to stay as far away from these areas as possible, but the stench is always around. With respect to production shows, we have seen them all on previous Carnival cruises, so we only attended one this time, 88 Keys. This was an entertaining show with energetic performers. We also attended several PG-13 comedy shows at the Punchliner, which were also of good quality. EMBARKATION/DEBARKATION: We purchased Faster to the Fun and had no wait time whatsoever when boarding, the overall process taking about 20 minutes from our arrival at the Port Canaveral parking garage. Debarkation with FTF is also much quicker than standard, although be prepared to be crammed into waiting areas with many others with little space to place luggage. Also, in our experience Carnival staff do not do well in informing/directing passengers where to go and what to do during preparation for debarkation. This was true for the Breeze as well as each of the other Carnival ships we have sailed on. More staff and signs/posting of directions should be used during this process. ITINERARY AND EXCURSIONS: The Eastern Caribbean itinerary of Amber Cove/St. Thomas/San Juan/Grand Turk is fairly typical. The weather was perfect for a December getaway from Tennessee. At Amber Cove, we did a private driving tour of selected locations around Puerta Plata, which included the usual tourist stops. Our tour guide, Stefan, originally from Belgium but living in the Dominican Republic for over twenty years, provided an interesting perspective of the local culture. In St. Thomas, we did a beach trip to Sapphire Beach. The beach area was quite crowded, but the water was beautiful. This was our second visit to San Juan, so we chose to explore the old city on our own, on foot. We were able to locate a walking map at the pier, and really enjoyed wandering around at our own pace. The history is fascinating, and the old forts and walls are not to be missed. We had lunch at a small restaurant named Rustic Pizza and would highly recommend it. In Grand Turk, we tried an excursion called Home Sweet Home. Essentially, were shared a large beach home with about 15-20 other guests on an uncrowded beach. A really good lunch was included, as were bar drinks. SUMMARY: If you typically like the Carnival cruise experience, the Eastern Caribbean on the Breeze is one for you. Read Less

Me and my wife sailed with Carnival on board the Breeze In November 2019 for our honeymoon. We had a room on the first floor with an ocean view. The cruise was 7 days and we enjoyed every second of it. The staff was not only amazing but by the second day they had already remembered both of our names and what we liked to order. The food was outstanding and the dining room staff was always so friendly and helpful. Every drink we ordered regardless of our location was made perfectly. The shows were always Entertaining and fun for everyone. I’ve been on 3 cruises, all with carnival and I’ve never experienced or overheard any have one negative thing to say about any of them. The staff treats everyone with the upmost respect even when some passengers don’t deserve it. Our waiter, Roberto, and his dining room staff always made us feel welcomed and at home. You can’t go wrong cruising with carnival, the have so much stuff you can do so you’re never bored, and if you want to just relax all cruise and soak up some sun, then they have plenty of areas for that too. People that complain are just looking for free stuff, staying on deck two means that there is a whole deck of cabins below you, not the engine room. And lunch lines will be longer when you go at the same time as everybody else. You have multiple locations that are all open for multiple hours. Read Less

Like the dream class because you can walk around the ship on Deck 5. Had a spa balcony on deck 12 so very quiet room. Thermal suites were never crowded. Because it was only seven days, not that many platinum and diamond members so the previous guest party was not crowded at all. Our wait staff was super nice and the food was typical Carnival. Pizza is still a great option for something quick. Special call out for the service provided by Spasua, dining room hostess. Our area of two tables for breakfast one morning did not have waiters for some reason. After a wait, we asked her for help. She got things moving and checked on us often for the rest of the cruise. Even made table reservations for our next trip on the Breeze in January. The Park West art team on this ship is led by Alan who was just recently assigned. Him and his team are one of the best we have seen after over 40 cruises. Very easy to work with, passionate and sharp. A nice combination. Also the singers and dancers on the production cast are super talented. They provided nightly entertainment in the theater every night and were consistently excellent. Don’t miss showtime. Read Less

I've been cruising for 40 years, starting in 1978 on the emerald seas. I've taken over 40 cruises and am a gold carnival member. We took advantage of the many hotels that offer a park and cruise program where you can stay the night before departure and leave your car in their parking lot and take a shuttle to the port. We swore off carnival a couple of years ago because of bad experiences, but the ports were interesting and this was the first "large" ship we sailed at 130,000 tons. Apparently Carnival has decided to attract a certain demographic that were the most disgusting group of human beings I've been locked on a ship with. Their foul language, rude behavior and no consideration for the kids and ladies was horrible. On deck 11 above the main pool area as we were sitting with new friends we met, this group next to us started fighting and yelling the MF words, F words and then one of them got up and yelled across the pool to someone saying "hey MF come over here". They kept up the foul language until I stood up and threatened to knock him out if hey didn't shut his mouth. Told him there were kids and ladies here and didn't need to talk like that. Carnival had no security around. On the last night in the atrium level 3 another gang started yelling profanities, this time the security team removed them, but they were back 30 minutes later. These groups would travel in packs and my wife was scared to move about the ship unattended. On formal or dress up night they let these gangsta's come into the dining room with baseball hats, shorts, wife beater shirts. Carnival never enforced the dress code or any behavior rules. That being said, we booked this cruise for our 17th anniversary. Embarkation was for the most part fast. They herd you like cattle, long lines for everything, there was a black long hair in my eggs, when we were at the second "formal" night our personal carnival cruise planer DJ Myrick arranged for a anniversary cake and they gave it to another couple who had no idea why they were receiving a cake. Not being deterred, they ate our cake. I gave the cabin an excellent rating because it was a outside ocean view deluxe which had plenty of room and a FULL BATH AND A HALF BATH. The picture window was big enough to watch the ocean as we sailed. if I had kids I would NEVER sail with this company until they clean up their act. One more thing, Carnival now rents scooters. Not exaggerating, there were 400 scooters running into people, clogging elevators, running into the back of your legs if you take to long in the food line, One kid was playing with a scooter, lost control and cleared out a table of people. People were so feeble our departure was delayed due to a medical emergency and when we were disembarking a lady fell out of her wheel chair clogging the only way out. They called the ship doctor and when he arrived he told the people helping that he was familiar with her. While in port at Grand Turk the sister ship Dream had a medical emergency and they had to life flight someone to St. Thomas. A cruise is not the place if you're not not able to walk and your health is such that you may have to be left in port. That's expensive and on you. What a total disaster and waste of my hard earned money. Read Less

My sister chose this ship for her 50th birthday cruise. We had a blast, loved the pool entertainment. Love and marriage and my parents of 57 years won, was best part of trip. All the food was great, and loved the anytime pizza, which I ate alot after midnight. Dine in movies was fun too. Everything was great and will go on carnaval again, The rope course was great, we had so much fun doing with our niece. Guys burgers and fries station was awesome too. We had a balony room and steward was great and always there if we needed him. Also had room service for coffee every morning and was always fresh. We had fun at all the ports and love Senior Frogs. Our excusion was canceled, because of too windy, but we had a great time at the beach. so all and all everything was great and cant wait to go on another carnival cruise. Read Less

We selected let Carnival choose your room and save money. They gave us an inside room, no window s, no seating area, 2nd. Floor above the engine room!!! We paid the same price for that room as our other friends that were on the 9th floor with a sliding glass door and balcony, plus a sitting area!!!!! This is unfair pricing!!!!!! We absolutely did. To sleep due to the noise. We complained and this fell on deaf ears. They could have cared less!!!! I was told, once I was told my room assignment a couple of days prior to departure, it was a sold out cruise. They told me the only room available would cost more t(an a $1000 more!!!! So disappointing. Bartenders on this ship were rude also. They appeared bored. Made terrible drinks!!! The buffet was poorly planned. Long lines, terrible food!!! All the food was substandard, entertainment was like watching a junior high musical. The only good thing I can say about this cruise is the cruise director seemed to be very good and talented. I WILL NEVER GO ON A CARNIVAL CRUISE AGAIN!!!!!!! Book Royal Caribbean!!!! Or, better yet, save your money and book a VIKING European cruise!!!!!! Read Less

No matter where we were or what we did on our recent Carnival Breeze cruise, the employees were superb! From our room stewards, Gusti and John Paul, (room 2221) to our waiters, I Putu, Oscar and Carson (Table 533), to the Lido staff, Zara, and the Ocean Plaza help, Ruth, the employees were amazing, friendly, helpful and happy! The "Craft with Michael's" guys, Brad and Ryan were incredibly entertaining and fun. The four comedians, Dale Jones, Jodi White, Allen Mazen and Tyler (the bow tie guy) had us laughing until we were crying, both the family and adult shows! Also, the Sea Sharps are the best band that I've ever seen on my 75+ Carnival cruise days. They performed in the Ocean Plaza which was great because we could dance, but there was standing room only; they need a bigger venue! Schwartz is a fun cruise director; does he have time to sleep?! And, thank you for the daily puzzle, which I did every day; and this cruise, I borrowed a book from the library, read it and returned it, so I didn't even have to haul a book or Kindle around while traveling to and from the ship. Finally, the embark and disembark procedures were the fastest I've ever experienced. Love you Carnival! Read Less

This was our first Journey's cruise. We did not know what to expect. Out of 3800 Passengers, 1800 were Platinum and about 100 were diamond. This means you will wait if you aren't diamond or platinum. If I had to do it over, I would have waited to become platinum before doing this cruise. The ship is awesome but I will now add cough syrup to the list. Many got an upper respiratory virus on this cruise which is not Carnival's fault; however, they could have done a better job cleaning. I noticed the Breeze did not have as many alcohol gel stations as other ships. The bathrooms often have 4 stalls and only one dryer which means people will NOT wash their hands. I hope they get this figured out. Layout was the typical "Dream" Class ship. I did notice there were not as many stewards cleaning the common areas. Our waiters in the main dining room were amazing. Esumitra, Zara, and Joaquim made us feel like we were the only ones dining. You really get to know someone when you sail for 14 days. Millicent at the coffee bar was absolutely awesome. If you haven't tried the coffee bar you are missing out! Room stewards were a bit odd on this cruise. I know Carnival has assigned them 35 rooms to be done by 11am so they always seem rushed and miss things. They were very friendly and greeted us each day in the hallway. Room Service was prompt and very courteous. Great job to the staff! Did not attend stage shows as we've seen them before. Mark Preston was very good as a walk-on performer as well as the juggler. Comedy shows were good except for 2 comedians that put the crowd to sleep. Carl Strong made everyone laugh so hard they were falling out of their chairs. CoCo was the comedy host and she was AMAZING. She is well on her way to Cruise Director. The Sea Sharps with a side of Diggity was one of the best bands I've seen on a cruise ship. When they play jazz/blues they sound like grammy award winning artists! Read Less

I would love to go on a carnival cruise again with muy family and the money was worth it i loved all the activites including basketball, golf, arcade and the casiono. I would say one bad thing about the ship is that is is very old and rusty it really didn't smell too good buh overall everyone was very nice and I would like to go again. Read Less

Embarkation was great. We arrived at Cape Canaveral around 10:30 a.m. and we were able to board before noon. The Carnival Breeze is a beautiful ship. Since our cruise was in October the ship was decorated for Halloween and had several activities on board that were Halloween related. Our dining experience was not what we have experienced in the past on Carnival. We had early dining in the Sapphire dining room. The service was fair. We were not offered refills on our ice tea, we had to ask. Waiter's were friendly but seemed stressed and in a hurry to clear dishes off the table. We felt like we were being rushed to finish our food. Food was always luke warm when served. Nothing was hot. Same with the buffet on the Lido deck with the exception of Guys Burgers they were hot and delicious. The entertainment was fair. We only enjoyed 1 of the shows. One night we ended up leaving before the show was over....along with several other passengers. We ordered coffee through room service a few mornings. Service was quick and servers were very nice. We only went on 1 excursion which was in St. Thomas, the sky lift. Beautiful view at the top. We had been to all of the ports in the past and we just enjoyed walking around to different shops and restaurants. Our room steward was great.Very nice. I doubt that we will sail on the Breeze in the future due to the food not being up to our expectations.Disembarkation was well organized and quick. Read Less

The ship was not the nicest, and housekeeping should do a better job of ensuring the cleanliness of the rooms. My nephew got injured on board the ship and bled a bit on the sheets, but the bed was remade with the bloody sheets even though it was pointed out to the cleaning crew. Overall, the staff on board the Breeze were totally responsive, courteous and worthy of a four star rating. However, Carnival's customer service leaves a lot to be desired, and is pretty non-existent once you disembark from their ship. During a shore excursions with Carnival's Costa Maya partner my 13-year old son was attacked by a dog on the resort. All the staff, including the security, stood around watching but did nothing to stop the attack. The ship's doctor was very responsive when we got back on-board and recommended that we follow up with a series of rabies treatment since they did not store the medicines on board ship. On our return to the States, the county health department agreed and insisted that my son's wound be infiltrated with immunoglobulin (injections all around a 10-inch wound...lost count after the 9th shot). He then had to go back to the ER for 3 additional treatments with the rabies vaccine. Rabies is a serious disease that is almost always fatal if the proper precautions are not taken. However, since the immunoglobulin can only be administered in the emergency room in my county, the cost of treatment is not inexpensive. The savings in taking a less expensive cruise line is not far overshadow by the cost of his treatment. While I get that Carnival may not be ultimately responsible, one would think that they would have a clear means to address the safety of their customers with their partner organizations. I have asked Carnival repeatedly to direct me to the right authority. Each time, they reply with a generic message with yet another email address from which I get no response. I would caution anyone to be mindful of Carnival's callous disregard to ensuring the safety of its customers. Read Less

We had 3 rooms, a group of 10. We have sailed with Royal Caribbean and decided to give Carnival a shot this year; what a mistake. Everyone who worked on this ship looked mad all the time, employees would run you over, would not get out of your way when you were walking throughout the decks, pool areas and dining areas. The bartenders looked miserable and angry all the time, it was evident they did not want to be there. We had purchased the Cheers package, and yet the bartenders tried to limit every single thing you could order. If we ordered a drink, and didn't want bottom shelf liquor, we were told no, or just completely ignored until we had to demand the bartender to make our drink the way we wanted. After going back and forth with the bartender, we explained, per Carnival policy, you're allowed to have a drink of up to $20, therefore, allowing us to have top shelf liquor drinks. Although you are limited to 15 drinks per day, we were able to reach 11, and we stopped due to the fact they were using so much syrup, it would literally have your stomach hurting (by the way, not even tipsy off these drinks, very suspect). The Food: Absolutely horrible. The best food on this ship was the brisket from Guys BBQ and the burgers from Guys Burgers. The buffet was an absolute joke, the dine in was the same horrible food they were putting on the buffet. The pizza, well lets just say, that pizza didn't live long enough to make it to the oven, it was so dry and over cooked. Then comes desert; nobody can mess up desert, right? Well, Carnival Breeze even managed to mess up the desert, which was also disgusting. Hey, at least the Ceaser Salad was good. Instead of just hopping on here to leave a bad review, I did contact Carnival directly to inform them of our experience and also all the other passengers who were mummering about the horrible experience. I wanted to let Carnival know directly so that they could focus on what matters most. Some times, it's all about changing the small things to make big experiences matter, like a smile when you are being served, having a bartender who not only smiles, but listens to what you want. Friendliness was the main factor missing from the experience, and it was very odd that it was the entire ship. This experience just didn't feel like a 7 day vacation, it felt like we were a nuisance to everyone and really felt out of place. Unfortunately for Carnival, this will be my last cruise with them. I will gladly stick with Royal Caribbean as my experiences with Royal Caribbean are just what their name says, Royalty. Our group is also considering Norwegian as we have heard amazing things about them as well. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to see the pink sand of Bermuda. Unfortunately Hurricane Jerry wanted to go there too. So it's still on our bucket list. It came as no surprise when I got the email 2 days before we sailed that the itinerary had been changed. We went to Puerto Rico , Dominican Republic and Turks and Caicos. Turks and Caicos was our favorite. The color of the water was absolutely amazing. About the ship....well I think it needs a bit of a facelift. It's looking old, the public areas were very narrow. My husband has to use a scooter and at times it got very narrow. I think the worse thing was the casino. They allow smoking in the casino and it was awful. We usually play in the evening on other cruises, but the smoke was so bad we did not. For sure I would not go on this ship again. Read Less
