The cruise ship itself was large and clean. The staff though was not trained very well and confusing to talk with. I had purchased the soft drink package which comes with a cup to use at the drink stations. I thought this might be addressed at the check in but that was basically a glance at your passport and sent aboard. I could not find any information other than to see guest services so I did ...
Last year we went on Royal Independence of the Seas and we had a great time. This time we decided to go on one of their bigger ships Allure of the Seas. First we didn’t realize they did NOT have any water slides for the kids. They had a small splash pad area that squirted water but it was very lame. We were able to make it to the Aqua Show on the back of the boat on the standby line and that thing ...
We were strictly Royal Caribbean travelers until this cruise. When we got on the boat, we were not even acknowledged, even though 2 boat employees were standing on either side of the door. No smile, no welcome. Just look at us. When we got on the elevator, as soon as I looked at the floors, it looked old and dirty. A far cry from the protocols they were taking during COVID. It's like they ...
Quite literally the worst vacation I have been on. Our balcony door didn’t seal correctly and it took until the second night of the cruise for them to repair it correctly and stop the whistling. Their initial fix was to put tape over the seal which rendered the balcony useless. This was a non started since my wife gets sea sick on the first day of a sail and the fresh air from the balcony helps. ...
I had been on this ship prior, several years ago, with my sister and mom. We had a great time.
This trip, my husband and a couple friends wanted to take a vacation. Initially we looked at an all inclusive but decided on this cruise as we wanted the Coco Cay experience (I had been there before).
We purchased the deluxe beverage package prior to boarding thankfully; otherwise we wouldn’t ...
A disappointment from arrival… Our family booked two rooms on the Allure of the Seas (picked this ship due to the time of sailing around a holiday). Getting into port parking was a nightmare. Apparently, there was a technical problem and the system crashed and they couldn’t charge for parking, so they had everyone driving around the parking lot with multiple lanes and merging them with no ...
I have been on allure 3 times. The ship still looks great after the refurbishing. I was on one of the first sailings and I have to day I don't feel it has aged. It is a great ship, with a great layout and really doesn't feel big regardless of its size. The neighborhoods really break things down well. the real change has been to service and food. The food is literally, hit or miss. I suspect ...
The Bad....
Dogs now allowed (not just service dogs), sometimes without a leash. Eating off floor and table in dining areas. Kids licking salt shakers in Windjammer. Smokers on balconies. Groups taking over hot tub in Solarium for several hours with their boom box music playing loud. ALL of this was observed by staff with no one stopping it. Windjammer is far too small for a ship this size. ...
We went on this cruise because family members invited us. We didn't like the ship at all. It is very claustrophobic and feels more like being in a shopping mall than on a cruise ship. You can't see out when on the main entertainment decks and bars. The food was awful, tasteless and overcooked. Drink service really slow. This was our 11th cruise on various cruise lines and was definitely the ...
We recently returned from a Cruise on Allure of the Seas and were so disappointed, that I wanted to warn others. I am generally a fan of Royal Caribbean, versus other cruise lines, as they always seemed to me to be the cream of the crop in terms of quality. This time, not so. Be forewarned, if you are taking kids under 12, who have not been vaccinated for COVID with you, your participation ...
