Barbados was one of my favourite places on this cruise. The segway trip was rather good, however there were some bits rather disapointing. For example, in their description, it said "a short ride to the segway area"...the ride was 45mins from the port. However, we spent a decent amount of time on the segways. You are equiped with a hair net, a helmet and elbow pads and obviously a segway. You also have a little bag at the front of the segway to put your phone or whatever inside it. CHARLESTON, S.CAROLINA In Juno,Alaska In Ketchikan,Alaska This port was Gibraltar. It was added when our itinerary got changed but it was one place I wanted to go! This is the interior of the Catholic Church in downtown across from Freedom Square. Fort Brimstone - Part or the National Park on St. Kitts. More photos of the Fort are included. Very nice National Park Preserve. You could spend several hours here. This is the walkway going into the highest point of Ft. Brimstone itself. Lower section of Buildings located at Ft. Brimstone. The Fort was built along various levels of the hillside overlooking the Caribbean. The hill itself is 800 feet high and required a long ascent to the top. Very well protected. This is a lookout point on St. Kitts where the Caribbean (left) and the Atlantic (right) are divided by the island. Beautiful! Catholic Church in downtown. I liked the palms in front. A Panorama from the top of Ft. Brimstone overlooking the ocean. The fort had cannons completely around the entire fort protecting if from all sides. This set of stairs led up to the highest point of the main section of Ft. Brimstone. Short walk but about a 40 degree angle. Once arriving at the top of Ft. Brimstone this was the entrance into the main grounds within the Fort Walls. There were numerous other sections to Ft. Brimstone located at various levels of the 800 foot hill. Once you walked through the entrance this is the courtyard that had various rooms, kitchen, storage, sleeping areas, view points, built into the walls. This is a tree, at Romney Manor which frames in a nice view of the ocean. Romney Manor is a privately owned estate that has acres of flowers and vegetation, along with some older stone buildings that you can wander through. At Romney Manor the women are doing an art form called Batik, which involves waxing the material and coloring what you want to highlight and then boiling the wax off after the colors have been added. Very time consuming. This was one Batik that was completed and hanging to dry. Very interesting art form.
