What an Overrated Cruise Line

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Paul Gauguin

Don't spend the money on the precruise pkg. We went direct to the hotels website and booked an over the water bungalow for half the paul gaugain price. We had read that paul gaugain was rated #1 small cruise line in the world. I don't know how that could happen!! We have sailed several other cruise lines all over the world and i would place any of them head and shoulders above pg. On our ...

This was no luxury

Have you read or heard as I did that this Cruise ship sailed along some of the loveliest Islands of French Polynesia and was supposed to be the luxury Cruise of a life time, great boat, great food, etc....? This is what I tought when I paid a hefty sum of money to book a single cabin on what was to be a beautiful and memorable experience. How pretentious to call yourself a "luxury" Cruise ship ...

Was told I was embarking on a "luxury" Cruise, it was everything but luxurious! You would think with 300 passengers you would get top service and attention, out of this world food and beautiful cabins! Very pretentious of this Cruise Line to sell itself as luxurious when cabin noise Wales you every morning at 6:00, AC is also Very noisy and not Very cool, food is good but what tou can expect and ...

Very Disappointed except for the Eclipse!

We took this trip so that we could view the Eclipse from a favorable spot in the middle of the Pacific. That part of the trip was fantastic, as were the on board Enrichment Lectures given by Rick Fienberg, Holly Gilbert and Mark Eddowes. Unfortunately, the crew of the PG seemed completely unfamiliar with the western Pacific port stops (New Caledonia and Vanuatu). These were poorly organized ...

We planned our trip on the PG 6 months prior to sailing. We had read many reviews on many websites and decided to go ahead with the booking for a 7 night cruise. Considering the price and its comparisons to other cruise lines including 6 star ones, we proceeded and couldn't wait for the holiday to come around. Our holiday started with a week at the Hilton Moora in a fantastic OWB and we loved ...

My husband and I had been dreaming about taking a cruise on the Paul Gauguin for years, but it was just so expensive. Then after my husband was diagnosed and beat cancer, we knew we could not wait a moment longer. Having never sailed on a "Luxury" cruise line we had great expectations and sadly they were never met. The service was AWFUL throughout. There was no effort made to make us feel ...

Our thoughts on the 15 day, 14 night cruise, 12/06/08, French Polynesia and the Marquesas Islands, on the Paul Gauguin: We are experienced cruisers, ages 70 and 68. We've sailed on all of the other Regent ships (some more than once), and have enjoyed over 20 cruises in total. We loved the Regent experience on their other ships because of the excellent service and beautifully appointed ships and ...
