We went on this cruise because of the "sea less traveled". It was an adult only charter cruise. The staff was over the top polite and genuinely nice. The cabin, 817, was close to the pool/bar and restaurant. I would book this room again. Just be ready in the morning for the joggers to start stomping like elephants at 8:30 am above your room. After all, you do have to get up for breakfast. The ...
We chose this cruise because of the amazing comments and the itinerary. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. We were greeted by an extraordinary team who immediately made us feel so welcome. Check in was very quick and our luggage was immediately delivered to our cabin. We were on deck 6 which was the perfect location. The food and service were amazing. The crew knew our name and what we ...
Wanted to give a heads up warning to anyone considering cruising on the Paul Gauguin that you will be paying Regent prices without receiving the quality experience you may expect.
There are many friendly individuals aboard who work hard to give passengers great service, but there are too many negatives to overcome. It's a long way to travel and a lot of money to spend to sail on a Paul Gauguin ...
From the moment we checked in for the cruise, on floor 5, I was terribly disappointed. The entire ship smelled musty and moldy. The bathroom not he 5th floor, right were everyone must congregate for room assignments, was the smelliest on board. Wouldn't you think the cruise line would keep that spotless? It only got worse from there. The ship was certainly nothing special and not new. I was ...
This was our third time on the Paul G. We absolutely love it. Older ship, yes, as some complain, but it is fantastic. It is kept up and is luxury to say the least. We would not have one complaint about the ship, service, shore exc. etc.. It is everything and more we expected. The staff treats us like family. On our return, they remember us and it's like coming home. The Show, Tony Tyler - singer ...
This was our second trip on the Paul Gauguin. We did the 10-day cruise last August specifically to snorkel at the two atolls, Fakarava and Rangiroa, in the Tuomotus. We never got there because an engine problem kept us five days in Bora Bora (they had to fly in an engineer with a part from France!). They provided us with some compensation, so we decided to book the seven day version of the same ...
We were in a Deluxe Stateroom. I think there are only 4 of them. The one with a Butler. The stateroom was one of the best layouts we have experienced. However the food aboard this ship is not cruise ship fine dining. The Main dining room L'etoile is open seating, crowded, noisy & hot. The La Veranda is their fine dining. Just passes because its just the breakfast room with table cloths!
The ...
I am Executive business traveller. Having sailed on 3 other high-end cruise lines with much international travel in my past, we decided to try PG Cruises. We were in absolute disbelief at the quality of this trip from start to finish. Even the luxury travel agents we met onboard said they would advise their contracted clients to CANCEL! Five detailed emails with photos were sent to the VP of Paul ...
This was supposedly a 'luxury' cruise. Terrible! Go Crystal or stay home...or just fly direct to the islands worth seeing. (Contracted by PGcruises) Air Tahiti Nui--AWFUL. First Class is the only tolerable seat on the plane. PG (small, old, run-down, moldy) ship: cheesy staff entertainment, poor service, no A/C in main restaurant (?!?), loud hydraulic machine noises every morning 6:30-7:30am, ...
First time on a cruise . The Staff was very friendly and professional . My stateroom was very quite and clean . I went on the PG to experience the water . The dive staff was great - Maud and Clement were excellent dive guides . All the dive equipment was in good shape . Saw many BIG sharks and rays . Very cool . The Lagoon excursions to see the rays and more sharks were very well run . Drove a ...
