We will be celebrating our 50th anniversary this year and really wanted to splurge on a fabulous trip. Due to concerns over low water levels last summer and fall, we opted to book our cruise in May. As Mother Nature decided to make up for her performance last year, we had nearly a solid week of cool temperatures and sometimes heavy rains. Several of the heavier downpours occurred during our ...
We chose this cruise because of the location- Prague to Budapest- and because 3 couples from different areas of US wanted to experience a trip together. Our hotels were located near sites and public transportation. There was a long and then rushed bus ride from Prague to Passat but then we boarded and the adventure continued! Wait staff was first rate- always ready to meet our needs. The cruise ...
Our travel agent suggested Viking Cruises. It was perfect! The stateroom was spacious and lovely. The included tours were educational and informative. Having walking challenges, it was nice to have the leisure tour options. And with guidance of the tour guide and Viking reps, I was able to use a taxi twice to save my walking strength.
The meals were excellent. I would have preferred an ...
Pre-cruise hotel in Munich (Hilton) was fine. We needed to place a call for A/C fan not working. Tours were good and interesting. Local restaurants were few, we needed to secure rides to get dinner.
Pre-cruise hotel in Salzburg (Sheraton) was nice and close to shopping and restaurants. Tours and tour guides were outstanding. Our Viking representative for these four days was great.
We ...
We chose to do the Prague pre-cruise extension. While the weather wasn't the best (chilly, some rain) we felt this was the best part of the trip. We met 7 awesome people that we ended up socializing, eating meals with and in our same tour group the whole trip.! I truly believe we were meant to do this just to meet these friends which we know will be life long. The architecture , history and ...
Viking Flash sale made it affordable to our group. Everything was taken care of, from out airfare, transfers, cabin,.
As we arrived in Munich the Viking representative was there to greet our group. We loaded onto a very comfortable bus for the two hour ride to Passau. We then boarded the ship. From start the finish, the hospitality was on display. We were shown to our rooms, and the steward ...
Eight days was Right # of days. Price was good plus we got free airfare. We wanted to visit the countries to be visited. We wanted to be on a Viking river cruise on a longship
The staff to guests ratio was wonderful, with wonderful service and incredible meals
Great program director--talented; efficient; personable. Really enjoyed his trivia nights and was excited to have won one of his ...
This was our second Viking Cruise. We had the same type room which did not disappoint. The cleaning staff kept our room very clean. The view of the Danube was great although when you are parked in a lock, you don’t see anything.
The excursions were well organized and interesting. We loved Vienna especially but did not feel that Slovakia offered much. I would recommend a different port. It ...
We certainly enjoyed our recent Danube River cruise on the Viking Vali. Yes, the weather was cool and rainy, but that did not affect our touring that much. We chose this time of year because we did not want to deal with potential low river water levels in the Summer or Fall.
Overall Viking's arrival services were seamless--fast pick-up at the airport, comfortable bus transfer to the boat, ...
My friend and I chose this trip as it was advertised as the perfect way to spend Christmas. We are both widows with grown children who have families of their own. We believed this trip would be beautiful and would provide us with lovely memories. Boy, were we WRONG. Viking is an ok cruise line if all goes well. However if any issue comes up, you are very much on your own. Not only does ...
