We had sailed with Sceinic prior, and thought this trip Paris to Paris would be a wonderful experience. The staff were the best, and were very friendly. We arrived in Paris 4 days before we set sail and toured the city. Our embarkation went smoothly and swiftly. There were staff to greet us port side before entering the ship. Mandy ,our cruise director was very good and helped us in the ...

Our cruise was so well done. First trip to Paris, I would have liked more time in the city of Paris. ( we had about fifteen minutes at the Eiffel Tower)We were blessed to see Notre Dame, it burned the following week. Truly, the trip there did not disappoint. All the excursions were terrific. On board, the crew was very attentive, polite and Always happy to help. Our room service was most ...

Potential to be Great

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Scenic Gem

This cruise was chosen because of the itinerary which turned out to be as expected. The visits to WW1, WW2 Battlefuelds and Giverney were good. However the on-board experience was not as expected - overpromised but underdelivered. The 'personal butler' was hardly seen during the 10 day cruise and the services to be given by that person did not happen. Many people had difficulty with the ...

This was our third Viking River Cruise (previously did 7 day Rhine and 7 day Danube, both of which I cannot recommend highly enough). Viking does an outstanding job, somethings I wish I had taken into consideration before leaving (which are completely out of Viking's control). 1. Our cruise began on the Thursday before Easter, this led to crowds and closures at various points of our trip. 2. ...

Our friends that are wine connoisseurs wanted to tour region. We wanted to see Monaco but this trip did not end up there as the brochure stated when we booked. We enjoyed all the stops and seeing so many wonderful places., especially the small, quaint little towns and unusual things like "Garden of Eden," organ concert in cathedral, wine tasting in a chateau, etc..... We also liked the ...

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Avalon Tapestry II

Being first timers overseas we missed a few bases. Paris arrival should have been a few days before our departure on the Tapestry II, but that's our fault.. Leaving the states late in the day, our flights and arrival were uneventful and Avalon rep was waiting with a huge smile upon landing in Paris. (Note: for those with walking difficulty, extremely important for you to make arrangements for ...

Paris to The Swiss Alps - this was my first river cruise. Chose Viking on its fine reputation and it didn't disappoint. Everything from airport arrival pick up, embarkation, disembarkation, and return to airport went smoothly. The hotels were excellent. Everything about the ship was excellent:, staff, service, amenities, food - couldn't be better. The tour guides on the excursions were ...

This cruise was our second, booked our first night aboard our first Viking cruise, Romantic Danube in late March 2018. We wanted to take advantage of a Viking offer and a couple we met recommended this one as an excellent way to see France for the first time. (My stepmother, with whom I travel, has French ancestors and somehow had not yet been to visit this country.) After only a few hours aboard ...

Ok experience, for an American

Disclaimer - this was our first river cruise, and first cruise on a non-American ship, therefore hard to compare. Will give thoughts based on overall experience in case other nonEuropeans are considering. 7 day New Years cruise on Seine River. 2 cabins, 4 guests. (Including on child and one in a wheelchair) Expectations/Assumptions: smaller ship, older passengers, not a “party” ship, ...
