I had earlier been on three cruises, two of them being to Europe (Mediterranean west and Southampton /Norway).This was our first experience with MSC Preziosa and we had a great time on the ship.I had booked a fantastica balcony cabin for me, my son and a close friend and our package included 36 drinks vouchers for our six day cruise. We had a very smooth Embarkation ,it took us just 20 minutes to get on the board and our luggage was already outside our cabin. Our cabin was quite spacious and had ample room for three of us. Bed was very comfortable and so was the sofa cum bed.Bathroom's size was okay and it had all the requisite toiletries .Balcony was also good though we didn't get much chance to sit and enjoy coffee as it was quite cold outside. The ship has beautiful interiors and one really relishes being on board such a lovely ship. The only thing which is below the mark is it's dining which was just average. There were very few options in the main dining room and the buffet was somewhat better. Entertainment was okay without being exceptional. We had no complaints regarding the service which was very good. We didn't go for pricey excursions offered by the cruise and had our own arrangements. Finally, the process of disembarkation had no hiccups and we had smooth sailing. Overall we had a wonderful time and would certainly sail again with MSC Preziosa. Read Less

This cruise was a part of an escorted tour. The cruise was a circumnavigation of Britain, plus Cork, Dublin, Belfast, St Peter Port and Le Harve. Being an organised tour, we took no Princess tours. Embarkation. This was from Southampton. We can only compare this to Sydney, Aust. It seemed like an organised chaos. Waiting times to get to the checkin desk exceeded an hour. There was also issues with boarding the boat adding to the wait. The service staff were good though. A thumbs down for embarkation. As things went though the bags were at the cabin really quickly Cabin. Caribe, or in this case deck 10. Not sure of the category, but unobstructed balcony. No problems here, and the cabin size is good. No issues as such but 2 concerns.... 1:there really is very little drawer storage, more frustrating than anything, and 2: the cabin had a small coffee table. This was more a nuisance than functional. The Boat. I do not know what it is, but we could not warm to this ship. Its all there, its basically laid out as most cruise liners are, but it never endeared to the point of wanting to sail on her again. Eating: Symphony restaurant is good, service great, but the menu did not inspire. The Horizon Court ( Princess for bistro) was good, but the layout of offerings did not flow, and at times you would wonder why they do things as they are..... eg: breakfast, toast, butter and condiments are a good example. Get your toast, find your butter, spread it, then go back and remove your piece of jam / spread. Very inefficient, and frustrating. Entertainment. As we were a part of a tour group, we did not use the theatre save 1 show that was brought on. That was good. I still wonder though why Princess persist with undersized theatres. More cabins maybe???? We did see 1 show, not a production and it was very good. Tendering. Actually no issues here. Easy enough to get off. Getting on.... almost OK. As always Security. You know why things are in place. You accept processes. You do find it hard to accept blindly a Security officer bleating " 2 lines " when the 2nd line is held by whatever reason, and has not moved for the last 5 minutes. Also having to show your card to pass security to in under 50 mtrs have to show it again. Face it, you are on the dock, you have passed security. There is no chance that an intruder are going to join the ship run to get back on board...... or is dock security not really worth it???? Disembarkation. Not a problem, and easy. Who would have thought. Overall thoughts: Its a great boat. No questions there, but there is something there that is stopping it being a great boat. Would we break a leg to get back on.. no, but if the right opportunity presented, we would take it..... but we do not think that will happen. Read Less

Wanted to try a new Cruise line. Embarking close to our location. “All Inclusive” drink package excludes many items, hard to know what’s included. Tiny library lacking any press, hardly any books etc. Restaurants (included in the price ) are trying to sell lobster and steak for x-tra 19-22 €. Sahara and Oasis bistros: except for fresh fruit are not worth a visit. Aurea “privileges” include access to an area on deck 16, which is not wheel- chair accessible. Charge for room service food items! Your Choice dining hours prevent diners from attending earlier shows. 22 PM shows are too late for many. Impossible to get even an over-the-counter pain killer from the medical facility without a € 100 medical examination. Pain killers available on board only while at sea. Except for a few kind employees, we have encountered inexperience and nonchalance. We can hardly wait to get off this ship! Read Less

We choose this cruise for the excellent itinerary, quality of Princess food, cabins and amenities. I would rate this cruise excellent in all these categories. The passenger logistics in handling the movement of passengers on or off the ship and other required on-board activities, such as customs, were so bad that my wife and I will be very hesitant about taking any future Princess Cruise. At Guernsey the line-up for the return tender took over 2.5 hours while the one at South Queensferry was at least 1.5 hours (this probably caused by all shore excursion tour buses arriving at the same time shortly before the advertised time for the last tender). Given that many of the passengers were seniors, Princess should be much more considerate of their difficulties in standing in queues (at times in the sun) for such extended periods. Other than those dealing with passenger logistics, all crew members were extremely helpful and obviously very concerned about passenger satisfaction. It is a pity that all of this was overshadowed by the lack of passenger concern / satisfaction demonstrated by those managing passenger logistics. Maybe this comes with such a large ship - seasoned Princess passengers seemed to know to arrive at the designate meeting area at least 45 minutes ahead of the designated time to presumably be at the head of the queue. On that basis their total wait time may have been 30 minutes shorter than that endured by those that arrived at the designated location only 15 minutes early. The key question for my wife and I is: do the slightly superior cabin, food and ship amenities adequately compensate for the terrible passenger logistics or should we go back to Holland America where we have had excellent cruises with nominally lessor cabins and food. Most likely the itinerary will be the deciding factor. Read Less

We were Sceptical after reading some bad reports on here about MSC and Maginifica we had a wonderful time so much so we have booked to go again in 5 weeks (different Itinerary ) the staff and animation team were so friendly ( probably because we are friendly to them ) Restaurant : we do no eat in the Buffet and prefer the sit down option which we were very please with , if you are expecting burgers, pizza,or any other fast food then you will need to stick to the buffet and the free for all as the restaurants serve a great selection of quality food we found the bar staff and animation team to be very very friendly , only downside the room steward seemed very overworked and miserable So impressed we are going back in 5 weeks to Norway we have only ever cruised with NCL (7 cruises within last 2 years ) and can tell you that MSC certainly are better value for money Read Less

This was our second TA cruise. Our plane arrived 11 pm at Ft. Lauderdale the day before the cruise so we spent the night at the airport to save money. Embarking was smooth but the crush of people at the lunch buffet was overwhelming and the food was underwhelming. I was hoping the boring food was not a sign of things to come. Our cabin was a balcony with a love seat. The decor was old 80s style. We both thought it was shabby and dated. Cabin steward was friendly and came to our rescue when we had been drinking and lost our room key. Had one special dinner at the Crown Grill which was decent with good service. The food in the dining room was mediocre at best. The food was tired and dated. I have no idea where they found those spindly little lobsters on lobster night. Really pathetic. Why even bother. The wait staff attentive. The desserts were outstanding especially the chocolate ones. The buffet was hit and miss - I did love the sushi, shrimp and roast beef but everything else was just ok with exception of the desserts which were quite wonderful. The buffet waitstaff was good when they were not pushing some wine tasting event or the like. I felt embarrassed for them having to bother people with sales pitches. I hate getting hassled to buy things when I am trying enjoy my meal. It was almost impossible to get a seat by the window. Most of the entertainment was fine. Although the comedians told the same tired jokes that might have been funny in the 1950s but were just boring now days. The new Silk Road production was ok but I wondered why on earth they could not use original music instead of pop songs. In some cases the pop songs did not match the story line. This seemed lazy not to hire someone to write original music and it ruined the production for my husband and I. The only standout in terms of talet was Perry Grant. He is such an original and unique talent. We loved his shows but so did everyone else and we could never get a seat. He should be moved to a larger venue that can accommodate all his fans. The library was small and had a smallish selection of books. i did like that they had many travel books. The library table was monopolized by the puzzle people. They hogged all the chairs working on their puzzles at all hours. When I tried to move one of their finished puzzles to take some notes on a travel book I was reading several of the puzzle people turned on me like rabid dogs. It was scary. The puzzle people should be moved to a different room or better yet throw the puzzles overboard. Excursion desk was great. The lady that gave the port lectures was wonderful. Bermuda was pleasant but not a place I would return to. Azores was amazing and spectacular. Lisbon had a horrible hop on hop off bus that was late and waited until it was filled so we were stuck on the bus for an hour. My advice is to just take a taxi to the tourist area.. Booked a local tapas and wine walking tour. Le Havre was boring. Disembarking was easy. Read Less

I chose this cruise as I have cruised Princess frequently in the past and it has by far become my favorite cruise line UNTIL this cruise. I have canceled all future Princess cruises due to this horrific experience. The lack of basic customer service was unbelievable. I understand they made the decision to not stop to do a pick up in Le Harvre due to weather concerns. I am fine with this issue as it is understandable however, Princess knew of this decision at 8 pm the night prior. The embarkation passengers were only told this at 7am the day of embarkation. Additionally, in the 7am email we were told to get to our transfer point and there would be princess reps to assist us on how to get from France to the UK (where the ship would be docked at). There was NOT. The only rep there was made it clear that it was his first day on the job and that he did not work for princess and that we were "lucky" that he was going to direct us to the airport. When we were shown to the airport, this rep did not know where he was going and then when he discovered that the flights to the UK were already sold our at 8am, he disappeared and we were left in the Paris Airport to fend for ourselves and find our way to the UK. The experience gets worse as after a day of travel, we finally made it to the ship at 11:30. Even our taxi cab driver assumed that we were crew as the way Princess treated us. When we informed him that we were passengers, he laughed and said, wait, you are on Holiday? You paid for this?? The laugher that came our of him was completely the way we felt. You really can't make this up. We checked in and were assured that there would be set up for us. There was, an egg sandwich left in your room from that morning. The smell indicated that it was indeed spoiled. That was it. One old egg sandwich for all the people in the room. The following day I visited the customer service desk, which should NOT be called customer service as the only this that I received there, was a hand in my face telling me "I don't want to hear about it! You need to contact Princess USA" That is very convenient for them since I was in the middle of the ocean. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I visited the desk 3 different times while on the cruise assuming that the first person was just having a bad day. Nope same reaction each time! Additionally, I booked 5 princess excursions during this cruise. Once was canceled due to missing the port for bad weather. I completely understand that. 2 of them, the busses broke down and left us stranded on the side of the road. One we were left stranded for over 3 hrs and missed most of the excursion and second we were stranded for over an hr and black smoke filled the bus. Much to my surprise, we were not provided with a full refund just a 50% OBC for one and 30% OBC for the second. Two busses on two different excursions break down and they can't completely refund since we missed most of what we paid to see?? The worst part of this cruise is that I kept the belief that once I arrived from the cruise that Princess would make this right. After all, I spent over $500 euros to get from France to the UK, having two busses break down and the entire ordeal. Boy, was I fooled. I was contacted by Princess USA stating that corporate was not going to refund anything further than they already had (one day cost for the cruise as an OBC). I was shocked. I immediately requested to speak to a supervisor. I was denied. I asked if they were going to refund my "pre-paid" Princess transfer from CDG airport to the ship. I was told no that I had to provide proof of alternate transportation. Princess failed to provide transportation as they weren't even there! There was no bus there as promised yet, I still have to provide proof that I took an alternate transportation. I was shocked!! I again, demanded to speak to a supervisor. Again my request was denied. I am a platinum member with princess and take about 3-4 cruises per year. I have canceled all future cruises on Princess due to this experience. Read Less
