I chose this cruise as I have cruised Princess frequently in the past and it has by far become my favorite cruise line UNTIL this cruise. I have canceled all future Princess cruises due to this horrific experience. The lack of basic customer service was unbelievable. I understand they made the decision to not stop to do a pick up in Le Harvre due to weather concerns. I am fine with this issue as it is understandable however, Princess knew of this decision at 8 pm the night prior. The embarkation passengers were only told this at 7am the day of embarkation. Additionally, in the 7am email we were told to get to our transfer point and there would be princess reps to assist us on how to get from France to the UK (where the ship would be docked at). There was NOT. The only rep there was made it clear that it was his first day on the job and that he did not work for princess and that we were "lucky" that he was going to direct us to the airport. When we were shown to the airport, this rep did not know where he was going and then when he discovered that the flights to the UK were already sold our at 8am, he disappeared and we were left in the Paris Airport to fend for ourselves and find our way to the UK. The experience gets worse as after a day of travel, we finally made it to the ship at 11:30. Even our taxi cab driver assumed that we were crew as the way Princess treated us. When we informed him that we were passengers, he laughed and said, wait, you are on Holiday? You paid for this?? The laugher that came our of him was completely the way we felt. You really can't make this up. We checked in and were assured that there would be set up for us. There was, an egg sandwich left in your room from that morning. The smell indicated that it was indeed spoiled. That was it. One old egg sandwich for all the people in the room. The following day I visited the customer service desk, which should NOT be called customer service as the only this that I received there, was a hand in my face telling me "I don't want to hear about it! You need to contact Princess USA" That is very convenient for them since I was in the middle of the ocean. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I visited the desk 3 different times while on the cruise assuming that the first person was just having a bad day. Nope same reaction each time! Additionally, I booked 5 princess excursions during this cruise. Once was canceled due to missing the port for bad weather. I completely understand that. 2 of them, the busses broke down and left us stranded on the side of the road. One we were left stranded for over 3 hrs and missed most of the excursion and second we were stranded for over an hr and black smoke filled the bus. Much to my surprise, we were not provided with a full refund just a 50% OBC for one and 30% OBC for the second. Two busses on two different excursions break down and they can't completely refund since we missed most of what we paid to see?? The worst part of this cruise is that I kept the belief that once I arrived from the cruise that Princess would make this right. After all, I spent over $500 euros to get from France to the UK, having two busses break down and the entire ordeal. Boy, was I fooled. I was contacted by Princess USA stating that corporate was not going to refund anything further than they already had (one day cost for the cruise as an OBC). I was shocked. I immediately requested to speak to a supervisor. I was denied. I asked if they were going to refund my "pre-paid" Princess transfer from CDG airport to the ship. I was told no that I had to provide proof of alternate transportation. Princess failed to provide transportation as they weren't even there! There was no bus there as promised yet, I still have to provide proof that I took an alternate transportation. I was shocked!! I again, demanded to speak to a supervisor. Again my request was denied. I am a platinum member with princess and take about 3-4 cruises per year. I have canceled all future cruises on Princess due to this experience. Read Less

The assistant cruise directors were AMAZING!!! The room steward as well, I cannot say enough good things about them. Staff - wonderful. However, the boat itself was run like it was a maiden voyage, terribly unorganzied. Muster station meeting - NO staff showed up to run it. Hundreds of us in the theater waiting on "mandatory" meeting that has no staff. We left after 25 minutes as did most people. First port, had to meet in huge room and wait and wait and wait. The staff lady told us one thing about our passports, but when we went to leave ship security would not let us go due to a passport issue. So I had another staff walkie-talkie the same lady in the wait room and she reiterated we could leave ship, but security said no. So that staff took us to her where she flat out lied - to us and that staff - and changed her story about what we were supposed to do with our passports. This happened to several people, we were all in the same waiting room, all heard the same thing, she was incorrect then lied to cover herself and caused us all to be dealyed. We had one Princess excursion, had to change busses before we even left, not even organized for their excursion. All our other outings were not booked with Princess. Two of the days we had no power in our bathroom mini-suite. Took total of 4 showers in the dark. First time the lights were back on when we returned to room after dinner, power died while we were exploring a port. Second day it had happened over night, also no power in any outlet in entire room, meaning no phones charged all night. It took 3 calls to the front desk from me, a call from my steward, and a call from another staff member in our hallway before a guy playing a game on his phone came to fix it - over an hour and a half. Since we were at a port, we had to take showers in the dark and have phones that died while in a foreign country. The issue was a breaker popped each time, could've been fixed in 2 seconds if anyone had bothered to show up to fix it. Long waits for tenders. Over an hour to come or go. Never experienced that on our non-Princess cruises with another brand. Interestingly, on the in-room tv, there was a taping saying how a large boat would be used to transfer passengers as well as the ship lifeboats, but that never happened. Also odd to me, we didn't travel far between ports but we ended up docking in several late. Again, never late to a port in our other cruises. Food in buffet did not change much, not great food. Pizza station very yummy! Did like that buffet staff brought drinks instead of serve yourself, the staff there was awesome also. Super slow dining room, waits every times, par for the course tho, only went twice. Bought myself the soda package, the bar staff were wonderful and personable when pouring my pop. Just of interest, the staff member we did not see was the cruise director herself. We weren't the only ones wondering who the heck our director was, and we attended most of the functions, at least three activities a night on port days, more on sea days. Other cruises, the director has been everywhere, talking to passengers, doing fun announcements, etc. Our director left after one dance celebrating the ship's 5th birthday even. Just thought it odd. Again, the assistants were WONDERFUL. Transfers to and from ship - I recommend to get your own. We booked from CDG to ship with Princess, no one was there to meet us, then we waited over 2 hours for bus. I asked staff twice if there would be a bathroom on the bus and both said yes. There was no bathroom. If we had used a taxi or other service, we would've arrived to ship at least 2 hours earlier. Also, staff didn't help with luggage, which we've never experienced, not even to load it onto the Princess bus, we all loaded our own luggage through the airport and onto the bus. From ship to CDG on Princess bus - gross, seats with gooey stuff on then, crumbs everywhere, disgusting. Also I am still waiting for my folio refund. I have emailed Princess three times about it and received nothing but automatic emails. Public bathrooms were extremely clean. Ship very clean in general. First two days a staff member commanded those entering dining room to wash their hands. For those going - you must put your keycard into a slot near the door to have lights work. Highly recommend all the activities onboard. Many more options than we are used to. Game shows, silly contests, Bingo, karaoke, trivia, shows, tea, tastings .. it's non-stop! Excellent staff, disorganized, plenty to do onboard, not great food, good price, great ports. Mini-suite big, balcony small. Expect bumps, have patience, be persistent if you shower in the dark, you will have fun! Read Less

Embarkation was very quick and smooth. Arrived at Southampton after staying over night and parked up, quick easy system. Walk short 2 minute walk to Departure Lounge, straight through to passport control and security then walked onto the ship. Very impressed with the whole MSC embarkation system, they have it nailed. The ship is spotless, plenty of lounges and cocktail bars to visit. Staff are very friendly and very professional, extremely hard workers. Cabin was a balcony cabin and again spotless. Cabin staff were always there cleaning. MSC have lots of lifts through out the ship so no matter where you are there’s a lift nearby, very handy. MDR food was 10/10 as were the waiting on staff. The buffet, very similar to Royal Caribbean’s Windjammers, plenty of options, beautifully presented and hot. Button on the table to press if you wanted drinks brought to you. Buffet open until late and Pizza and other snacks available into the night. Would I cruise with MSC again, yes, booked for Seaview in August 2019. This ship is geared towards more activities for our children. 10/10 Read Less

My husband chose this cruise for the price and the fact it was a Mediterranean company as I’m Italian. We had a lovely time and to be honest the year before we went on celebrity and were really disappointed to be honest. We have two boys and really they need activity and kids clubs to keep them occupied. The Magnifica really did supply and fill that need without any hidden extra costs which celebrity was quite naughty for. The entertainment team was great at their jobs and got the crowd going. The shows weren’t great but this can be worked on. They could do with some guidance on choreography as there wasn’t any logical sense to the story being told. However the meals were good the tiger and sports bar was under staffed and you can see the bar staff were stressed out. The cleaning staff optimum and the food was good. The kids club would come and take your children on timed appointment just as long as you arrange it. Of course the staff do make mistakes but on the whole we had a really good time. Read Less

We chose this cruise as part of a group of 11 friends& relatives traveling together. I had not been to Scotland or Ireland before so I was excited about those ports. The ship is HUGE. This has both benefits and disadvantages. The embarkation process was great, but we arrived early. The food in the dining room and the buffet is average; I would give it a grade of B-. We enjoyed Alfredo's and the International Cafe. Our stateroom steward, Taslim, was the best ever! He got our room done so quickly it was unbelievable. We had a mixed experience with the Princess excursions. The guide for the trip to Windsor Castle was nice, but larger groups had to wait in line for over an hour before getting in. We enjoyed the tour of Kinsale and Charles Fort, but we ran out of time and could not walk around the fort. The tour of Cawdor Castle and Culloden Moor was very good. The disembarkation process did not go smoothly. They brought bags out about six at a time, so we waited over an hour to get on your bus for the CDG airport transfer. Then the driver of our Gold bus 2 did not seem to know her way around the airport, so she went around the loop twice before dropping us off. She spoke zero English. The delay on the transfer bus meant that we missed our plane flight home, so we had to shell out for a hotel and meals for an extra night. Read Less

I had earlier been on three cruises, two of them being to Europe (Mediterranean west and Southampton /Norway).This was our first experience with MSC Preziosa and we had a great time on the ship.I had booked a fantastica balcony cabin for me, my son and a close friend and our package included 36 drinks vouchers for our six day cruise. We had a very smooth Embarkation ,it took us just 20 minutes to get on the board and our luggage was already outside our cabin. Our cabin was quite spacious and had ample room for three of us. Bed was very comfortable and so was the sofa cum bed.Bathroom's size was okay and it had all the requisite toiletries .Balcony was also good though we didn't get much chance to sit and enjoy coffee as it was quite cold outside. The ship has beautiful interiors and one really relishes being on board such a lovely ship. The only thing which is below the mark is it's dining which was just average. There were very few options in the main dining room and the buffet was somewhat better. Entertainment was okay without being exceptional. We had no complaints regarding the service which was very good. We didn't go for pricey excursions offered by the cruise and had our own arrangements. Finally, the process of disembarkation had no hiccups and we had smooth sailing. Overall we had a wonderful time and would certainly sail again with MSC Preziosa. Read Less
