We chose this cruise based on itinerary. We have been on the Crown and this was our 15th cruise on Princess. We were on the 28 days version of the British Isles cruise with the transatlantic.
I felt for a older ship it was in well maintained condition. They were replacing carpet in many rooms while we were about. Saw little rust and wood railings were well varnished not oxidized.

After reading all of the negative Reviews about the Crown Princess, British Isles itinerary, my expectations of the ship and cruise line were not high. We chose our first Princess Cruise because we were celebrating my husband’s retirement - and we always wanted to visit Scotland and Ireland. Our friends that are wine connoisseurs wanted to tour region. We wanted to see Monaco but this trip did not end up there as the brochure stated when we booked.

We chose this cruise because we went on Avalon Tranquility 2 in July and loved it so much. We booked this cruise for some late Summer sun - unfortunately we chose the wrong week for this. I always do a lot of research before we take any trip. This was our second European river cruise and our first time with Avalon. I would definitely sail with them again. However the two things that were not great were the dinner menu choices and our particular cabin. (see below)

The cruise was an introduction to the German countryside and the small towns full of history and charm.

Just back from an AMA Waterways river cruise from Paris to Prague. In summary, it was a great cruise and AMA certainly took care of its passengers. The cruise itself is seven nights from Luxembourg to Nuremburg and then we added on extensions in Paris at the beginning and Prague at the end. Overall I would give the 14 days a 4+ Rating.

Our tour director, Claudia, met us in Paris and remained with us for the entire trip. She was always accessible, made sure everyone knew schedules, always informative and friendly.
I was disappointed that the boat did not dock within walking distance to the town at each port. It was so much more enjoyable when that was possible.
