We choose Ventura for the ports of call. Alas, three were cancelled but the ports we did call at were in the main okay during our 35 night sailing. Never again on Ventura, the food was of poor quality, the service, hit and miss, the entertainment average, I don't think anyone would watch the acts if they appeared at venues other than on a cruise. The cabins, managed to a Travel Lodge standard, ...
Ventura, S/hampton - S/hampton, 2nd March - 5th. April 2023, 35nts.
This is officially the worst cruise I've ever been on. The embarkation process was complete chaos, and lasted most of the day. Despite P&O demanding that passengers self administer a Covid test & photograph results with date/time etc, this evidence was not requested or scrutinised at check-in.
There were numerous incidences ...
The cruise didn’t get off to the best of starts. Ventura had returned late from its re-fit in Hamburg which may explain why around 500 of us were kept outside in the cold for 90 minutes before being allowed inside the terminal to check in. I say ‘may’ because nobody at P&O thought to give a reason, let alone an apology. Or perhaps it was due to the fact that hundreds of new crew members also ...
Original cruise cancelled by p and o ,this was a similar venue .Vastly overcrowded ,poor food quality ,not even enough sun beds available the company should be ashamed and offer compensation to everyone .A lot of damage to their reputation has occurred .We are looking at other companies for future travels.
Lack of cleanliness too resulting in cleaning the bathroom / toilet myself ,toiletries ...
P & O VENTURA –NEVER AGAIN! Caribbean and USA cruise 2018
The Ventura is arguably an overcrowded, currently very dilapidated, nautical selling machine designed to milk every last penny from its on-board, captive, customer group. At base, the Ventura is a giant floating shopping mall. Ventura’s design, indeed its whole purpose, is to act as a selling and up-selling operation. That’s why this ...
We were very disappointed with the cruise. The Decor on the ship was understated and dull the entertainment was poor and there wasn't enough seats in the venues for the amount of passengers so had to queue for 30 or 40 mins to get in to a show which lasted less than 45 mins.
We were stuck in a cold corner of the restaurant next to air conditioner and couldn't get changed to a new table. As a ...
This cruise was my wife and I's fourth cruise, the previous three were with Royal Caribbean, and we enjoyed them tremendiously, we opted for P&O, because they offered tge cruise we wanted to do at the time we wanted to do it.
We arrived art Manchester Airport to fly on the Thomas Cook Airline charter at 6:30am on the 27th December 2014. The plain was due to take off at 09:30, but due to weather ...
Having cruised for over 25 years, several with P& O, we returned from this Christmas/New Year cruise exceedingly disappointed with the level that standards had dropped to. The hygiene levels were very poor indeed. We lost count of the number of times we had to ask for the tables to be wiped down in the Belvedere Restaurant (Buffet), because of food or drink spills still on the tables. Toilets were ...
There were so many problems it is difficult to know were to start. The ship itself was clearly not ready following its recent refurbishment ! Toilets in public areas seldom worked, we had several days when they did not work in our cabin either. Many public and open areas were filthy. Noisy work was being carried out around the pool areas. Decks were blocked off while painting was being done with ...
As two first time cruisers, celebrating 3 special occasions in 2013, we were so excited to be heading for the Caribbean in January 2013 on the P&O Ventura. We had planned and prepared for this cruise for 18 months and it was such a big disappointment. I would recommend that anyone thinking of going on their first cruise to research yourself thoroughly before you jump on board. We had gone to a ...
