Surprisingly good for new to cruisers
"We ate at Sindhu and the Beach House and the food at both were excellent and good value for money; at both restaurants our son ate off the main kids menu (sausages, chicken nuggets, fish fingers etc) and even at the more stuffy looking Sindhu, the waiters and other staff fussed over him and made him feel like he belonged which was good to see.), the food quality in the buffet was good and varied with the exception of the vegetarian options (the breakfasts were sensational and the kids tea was good for our son, although since it doesn't run at the same time as the main dinner offering we had to take him at the end of the kids tea time and then wait 10 minutes or so before we could get our food from the adult section), the pools were nice and the staff were mostly very friendly and attentive...."Read More

Better Than Expected From P&O

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Ventura

We booked this pre- Christmas cruise to Portugal and Spain because it was as cheap as a B&B and we were missing the sunshine. From our previous experience with P&O, we had low expectations but the Ventura is a nice mid-sized ship and we had a good time. The crew were good and the entertainment was acceptable but it was evident that P&O had "cut everything to the bone". In particular, the food was ...

Never been to amsterdam, p&o cruise seemed vfm way to spend 2 days in Amsterdam with no flying straight out of Southampton, enjoying quality food accommodation and entertainment. House band Pulse great as ever. Whitney tribute singer amazing. Overall slightly prefer Britania we did 14 nights on to Scandinavia eaarlier in year, bit these are small niggles as unlike Ventura Britania does not ...

I booked this as we wanted to visit Amsterdam and I thought it was a good way to combine that with a mini-break. It was booked in July and once confirmed we checked the websites of the places we wanted to visit and booked tickets as soon as we were able. Anne Frank house opens bookings on a specific day 6 weeks in advance so we made sure we knew when that would be so as not to miss out. If ...

Hadn’t sailed with P and O for a few years and were slightly concerned with negative reviews. We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely the Ventura was. Looked well maintained and clean. Easy to get around ship in my wheelchair and waiters were very helpful in MDRs, moving chairs to accomodate me. We booked a standard balcony cabin as I don’t need a fully accessible cabin. There was plenty of ...

This was our 4th P & O cruise but first on Ventura. Yes things have changed since Covid and yes the ship is one of their older ones in the fleet but we had a lovely time on our 14 night Canaries trip. We had a large balcony, room was clean and tidy and bed comfortable but appreciate the balcony itself could have done with a spruce up. Service of our rooms was great with ice bucket filled ...

We have just spent a week on Ventura, travelling to Spain, Portugal & France with our two children (one being 2.9 years and the other 9 months). We had a fantastic time! Pros: - The staff made this holiday for us! From the terminal boarding to the second we left, the staff were incredibly friendly and included our children at every opportunity. From letting my 2 year old stamp her own ...

We have just spend a week on Ventura to Spain, Portugal and France and had an amazing time. This is our cruise since Covid lifted and Embarkation has changed again. There is now a holding line if you turn up prior to your allocated time. It was fast and very efficient and it only took 10 mins to get on the ship. We had pre purchased the drink package expecting it to ready to use, but no ...

Agreeable short trip to Amsterdam on Ventura

Budget (inside cabin) trip. Facilities good (well as good as expected). Food good but we are not fussy eaters, and the standard restaurants and buffet are fine for us. We are not really drinkers, so can comment on that side of things, but seemed a bit steep [and didnt initially realize standard level drinks are NOT included, compared to other 'all in' Marella cruises we have been ...

Choosing Ventura for half term week was a gamble, she was full yet I was on board witjthere was still room to move, the terrace pool never overcrowded. The staff are what make Ventura so good. She is ageing gracefully has many loyal returning guests, I enjoyed my week immensely yet P& O have made a lot of cutbacks. Breakfast not as bountiful in the buffet but better in the ...
