Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Azura

Having read a mixed bag of reviews on Azura, I was a little aprehensive (more so than normal when travelling down to Southampton). So warts an all what about Azura - Stylish - yes, comfortable yes, layout - confusing - perhaps to those who haven't cruised much before. - Overall a greatfriendly ship. Boarded at 12:35 -(10 minute wait), cabin available at 14:00, so went up to pool deck, light ...

Having seen and been on board the Azura for a day visit while in Southampton last June, there was something about this ship that attracted me to it. I vowed to have a cruise on her at some time in the future. In March 2011, I joined her on her transatlantic voyage from Barbados to Southampton. Our charter flight, arranged by P&O Cruises took off more or less on time at 8.25am (4.25am Barbados ...

Having saved for this cruise for 18 months and using it as an opportunity to commence our retirement, all I can say is that we completed the cruise feeling totally ripped off and generally disappointed with the whole experience. We were so disappointed that after the 3rd day I purchased a cruise diary to reflect our daily frustrations here goes: Our embarkation went quite smoothly with ...

2nd time on the Ventura 1st time was on the Med, this time transatlantic to the Caribbean. Over all it was an enjoyable cruise just a couple of grumbles. But first the good points. Our cabin was an outside and was very comfortable, and the cabin layout was great, we particularly liked the open plan wardrobe, it gives you lots of space for cases etc, The in cabin entertainment was wonderful, ...

We had a last minute booking on Ventura for her March Trans Atlantic crossing. The journey from East Midlands Airport was seamless as was the embarkation. Well done P&O, MSC could learn a lot from you. Now for the niggles. The food was not the usual high standard expected of P&O. Rating: Could have done better. Lack of Managerial control in Marco White's restuarant. I object to paying £56 ...

This was our first 'proper' cruise with P&O, we have previously cruised with Royal Caribbean (to the Caribbean and Alaska) and have done weekenders on the Oceana and NCL. Ventura is a beautiful ship. The staff are immaculate and very helpful and courteous. I felt she lacked the initial wow factor when we boarded, however she is modern, elegantly furnished and there are some lovely areas that have ...

Flight 9 hrs, leg space sufficient although quite narrow. Complimentary bar throughout flight. Disembark aircraft straight onto coach then within 30 mins arrive at barbados port and first breath-taking sight of the ventura. Following security and credit card registration we were let loose on the biggest ship I've ever seen. We flew out on friday so had overnight in port then all day saturday in ...
