Two week cruise on Britannia from Southampton to Caribbean via Madeira, sailing on 23rd October 2015. Four days before sailing P&O advised the ship would call at Tenerife instead of Madeira - disappointing as we had been to Tenerife before but never visited Madeira.
Embarkation: rather shambolic, P&O apparently employing a new system. Our check-in time at Ocean terminal shown on tickets as ...
My first time on P&O and most definitely my last. Having cruised many times on Royal Caribbean and also Princess Cruises my wife and I decided to give P&O a go as they had just launched the new Britannia. I can honestly say that was a big mistake.
The ship is not in keeping with a new flagship that's for sure.
Our first impression was it all looked rather dull to be honest the Atrium was ...
Lovely ship - quite understated decor.
Voyage great - one sea day over the Bay of Biscay a little rolling felt a little sea sick but soon overcame it.
Food very good - Buffet excellent, Dinner - did not offer cheese and biscuits always had to ask - unlike previous cruises on P&O whereby always offered.
The service was a little rushed.
Cabin fantastic. Top deck. Balcony
Grab and ...
Having read quite a few negative reviews and comments about Britannia in her first few months of operation, we set off on our journey to Southampton with open minds, determined to try her for ourselves and to have a great cruise. We were not disappointed! There is a lot that P&O have got right with Britannia.
First, let's get the little "niggles" out of the way. In our stateroom, grade HF ...
Having previously cruised with Princess, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity my wife and I were looking forward to travelling with P&O on, what we believed, would be a 'de luxe' cruising experience.
How wrong were we!!
On arrival after a very long travelling day we were amazed to find that the 'buffet',which on other vessels, is always open on embarkation day was closed and other than having a ...
This was our first P& O cruise and it was a near hit , but had too many misses! We booked a deluxe superior balcony cabin. We were promised little extras such as a bottle of champagne, dressing gown, canapés, fruit basket and flower display. The flight down was fabulous from Gatwick a Dreamliner ands embarkation onto the ship faultless. We got our luggage in under 1 hour as well. The cabin was ...
Although we have cruised a couple of other times with different cruise lines, and we really should have known better than to take to much notice of the bad reviews, we were a touch apprehensive when holiday time arrived. The check in at Birmingham Airport was smooth and the flight on the new Dreamliner was ok with the exception of the meals which at best can only be described as filling. We arrived ...
After a problem with my parents having to cancel britannia maiden voyage they had a huge deposit outstanding so the 4 of us ended up on Ventura if I am honest not our first choice !!! But do not be put off please ! A relaxed ship with a friendly crew and fab entertainment (do not miss the 2 boys from headliners doing solo set amazing ) But the most fantastic revelation was the food WOW WOW as a ...
I am writing this review after having read the previous review "Bad Bad World Cruise". I echo the comments whole heartedly but I thought it was just us that had an unlucky experience. We are experienced cruisers but had never been with P&O before. We will never book wth them again as long as we breath!. All the negative comments written on this site about this company and ship Arcadia have a ...
My husband and I have just returned from our first cruise. We were on P & O Azura for 15 nights from Southampton to Barbados. We had a great time definitely one of our best holidays.
From the moment we arrived at the Southampton cruise terminal we were greeted by a genuinely cheery porter who took our suitcases and directed us into the terminal. We arrived earlier than our allotted time slot so ...
