Amazon Adventure

Review for a South America Cruise on Aurora

The opportunity to travel up the Amazon, Central America and Caribbean. The whole cruise was excellent in every way. The many ports of call, experiencing so many places, the excursions well organised. The crew were excellent, a happy ship and you felt it. Nothing was too much trouble. The waiters couldn’t oblige you more. Entertainment on the whole good including the Headliners shows. The ...

We like the Aurora for longer journeys having been on a world cruise on this ship. However were very disappointed with the entertainment on this South America Voyage. The majority of the acts - some good - were in the same vein ie songs from the shows. We appreciate that it may be difficult and expensive to fly multiple acts long distances but perhaps P and O should take this into account when ...

A voyage round South America where nearly everything worked

We were on Aurora's Grand Voyage in 2015 when we went round South America to Australia and back. The bits we missed on that trip we enjoyed doing on this one. Captain Pembridge who joined in Rio from his usual ship Britannia is obviously a guy on the top of his game. We travelled with him on Aurora back in 2009 and were impressed then. When he joined we were confident that we’d have a good cruise. ...

A Cheerful Ship

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Arcadia

We were on the first leg (Southampton to Rio) of a round the world cruise, then had an extension (not booked through P&O) to see the Iguassu falls and finally a stay in Rio. Embarkation was quick and easy. We arrived about an hour and a half before the appointed time (which is almost inevitable as no sensible person would not allow some margin for road conditions). Nevertheless we were through ...

2 Legs of World Cruise

Everything started well in Southampton with good embarkation. It was after we arrived at our cabin that we were told the dress code for this cruise had been changed. We had asked P&O more than once about this but they always insisted that the 3 dress codes would be in place until after the world cruise. When we arrived and then were told that the jacket required nights had been changed we were not ...

Valparaiso to Sydney

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Arcadia

Boarding at Valparaiso went well. Our cabin was great, and we were on G deck, the lowest passenger deck. The cabin was very clean, and certainly larger than what we have had with other cruise lines at a similar level. What was good that our suitcases slipped under the bed, which we have not been able to do with some cruise lines. Our cabin steward Johnny was first class. Cabin was left ...

Worst holiday we have had.

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Arcadia

I wished to visit some of the itinerary. Unfortunately the cabin allotted to us was very noisy and we missed many a morning lecture due to loss of sleep. eventually we were moved but his occurred several times so we were not happy travellers. Staff were very good but food was not the usual standard expected from previous cruises. Lectures appeared mainly for men so I found the cruise ...

Good to see P & O has maintained Arcadia's standards

Review for a South America Cruise on Arcadia

We have sailed on the Arcadia twice before (2005 and 2007) so I was looking forward to voyaging on this lovely, child-free ship again. Last January we went on the Ventura and I thought it showed a distinct drop in standards from the P&O cruises we have been used to, but thankfully this was not the case with Arcadia, which is as excellent as ever. After our 6-hour train ride from the ...

Would we book another cruise on P & O NO!!!!

Review for a South America Cruise on Arcadia

Would we book another cruise with P & O, NO! These are the reasons: We do not feel the P & O fulfilled their advertised cruise. Whilst we understand P & O's reasons for cancelling our ports in Argentina, they did not notify passenger until it was too late to cancel not only their booking but also airlines & hotels, even though they must have known months before this was to happen. These ...
