Myself and my Husband have just returned from our cruise aboard the Azura. we returned on Sunday 17/12/2017. We had a fantastic time.
we did not take any excursions that are supplied through P and O this is why I can not comment.
when we docked we went a shore every time, the taxi drives can be a pain however once you have run the gauntlet and got through them it was great to explore each ...
It was the first cruise I had been on in around 10 years, having always traveled previously with Royal Caribbean. My partner and I were recommended to try P&O by a friend, who suggested they catered far better for the British market. It was 100% sound advice.
There were minimal sea days, loads of interesting excursions to choose from, and the on board entertainment was brilliant.
The ship ...
We have just come back from our cruise. We had a fantastic holiday. Our flight was from Gatwick to Barbados. Check in was so easy. Flight with Thomas Cook was good. The crew made us very comfortable. When we reached our destination we stepped off the plane and boarded a coach which took us straight to the Azura. And they welcomed us with a nice cold drink. The embarkation, and disembarkation ...
We flew out of Gatwick to Barbados with Thomas Cook.Checked the luggage in and didn't see it again until it was brought to our cabin on the ship which was great. The seats don't recline which made for a less than comfortable night flight home, but the leg room was ok. Transfer to the ship was very organised and embarkation was the quickest of the four cruises we've taken.
I had read some less ...
We flew from Glasgow airport aboard a Thomson Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner in economy class and had booked our seats prior to flying, the flight was very comfortable my only observation being regarding the inflight meal. Up until last year even in economy class passengers were offered a choice from two meals, last year and again in this flight economy passengers had the choice take it or leave ...
All our family with ages ranging from 18 to 80years old had a great time. The facilities were first class,we couldn't fault them. The ship was beautifully decorated for the Christmas and New Year celebrations. We had a good table in the restaurant where the choice and quality of the food was very good indeed. The service in the restaurant was also very good, the waiters being friendly and helpful. ...
Well we are back from our Azura Christmas cruise (flew out 25th Dec from Manchester on the dreamliner). I was going with an open mind as we usually do, we have sailed on Ventura and oceana and a few other cruise lines prior to p&o. I was hoping we would like Azura as we loved Ventura. I have to say that this was the best cruise by far for us, it even beat our cruise around the Caribbean for our ...
We departed Southampton for sunnier climes on Saturday 19 December.
Unfortunately P & O did not get the boarding right for priority pax and it was a complete shambles. They just hadn't taken account of the large number of suites on Arcadia as well as the larger than average number of Ligurian pax as it was a long Xmas cruise, and then the ship not being ready to board at the usual time. The ...
The Azura is a huge ship. Kept getting lost on board. If P&O simply had different coloured carpet for port and starboard corridors, with the design pointing towards the bow of the ship, life would be much less confusing. A 'very British' cruising experience in a wonderful part of the world.
The crew and staff 'went overboard' to ensure that the 3000 passengers had a wonderful time.
The food ...
This was our first P&O cruise and we are totally hooked, everything from the staff to the trips were excellent. I understand from other passengers that they had bad experiences on their excursions but we must have chosen well as we had absolutely no complaints. The best the final one which was the Champagne Sunset Cruise which ended the holiday perfectly.
The food in the Oriental Restaurant ...
