I went on this cruise with my 23 year old son who is a teacher hence going in the school holidays. As it was very little extra (e like to be midships and have a proper sofa) we had a suite for the first time. The suite was great, and the bathroom especially so with a large shower and a jacuzzi bath which I overfilled with bubble bath!! However the location was not great - under the swimming ...
Lovely ports of call. Good service. Some staff appeared to be very overworked.
On the whole good entertainment. Excellent speakers. Headliners could have been better especially the dancers.
Had to ask cabin steward for bed changes. Washing machines, coffee machines, toilets all out of order. Buckets in corridor to collect water when it rained. Corrosion evident on many decks. Ship just ...
Chose this 7-day cruise because of the destinations en route. The "buffet" leaves a lot to be desired - poor choice of dishes, terrible organisation in terms of getting people through, inadequate tea and coffee stations which always lacked simple things like teaspoons, the food was consistently cold and/or dry.
One of the main irritations was the captain. Multiple times a day he would make ...
I chose this cruise as I liked the itinerary. I was dubious about going on the Aurora, but the fact that it was Adult Only helped seal the deal and the price was right.
Why was I dubious about the Aurora? This was my 3rd trip on her, my first being in 2019 just before the pandemic. My experience then was great. Good ship, lovely crew, good service and great food choices. Having experienced ...
We were excited for our cruise, it was going to 9 destinations and 8 we had never been to before. We are not new to cruising so knew what to expect on a well detailed and organised cruise.
The Ship is fine in itself, if a little tired in places. The Captain was brilliant, he was from Derbyshire and made every announcement funny, but informative.
Catering needs some serious work, and I mean ...
I have cruised with P&O before., but never on the Azura.
We arrived late due to our charter flight delay. The dining rooms were closed. The buffet restaurant was only partially open so the queues were long and tiring with a limited choice. Not the best introduction to Azura.
I felt the ship was tired and lacked sparkle. Service was mediocre. Entertainment bland and quite amateurish at some ...
Chose Arcadia for a number of reasons - been on before, adults only + Fjords for 1st time.
Few positives but many negatives.
Positives ...
We were in a balcony on Sun Deck which, according to deck plan, had a solid wall going aft and nothing above us. Wrong! The wall had 2 fire exit doors which were latchable from the inside and Sun beds above us that were usually laid out @ 7:17am on a ...
Due to family connections Malta is a regular destination for us. So a cruise around the med sailing from Malta meant we could combine 2 trips together. The boarding process was well organised and straight forward. The Azura is an older P &O ship and is showing signs of age. The cabin was clean and tidy and staff very helpful. We were in a forward cabin and the allocated restaurant was at the very ...
No fly from southampton appealed to me. Embarkment and coach transvers very good.
Front line staff (waiters restaurants / buffets) all bar staff. Very professional with overall good service.
Inside cabin very clean with good attendant.
Food in complementary restaurants poor. Food in the buffet very good with quality meats etc.
First 3 days at sea just piped music no live entertainment ...
Overall a disappointing experience. It doesn’t help to have seen the ‘salami slicing’ cost saving measures affect the quality of the cruise each year, having cruised with P&O ships mainly for over 20 years. The ship is rather tired and though the cabin size and layout (superior balcony) is good, it needs a refurb. Doesn’t help that we’re not told the times of flights before choosing an airport. ...
