Mr Barlow in concert, the only positive event on this cruise and I am not a fan of him or Take That, he was very good though so I will eat my words.
Pool deck 18 worryingly left full when all others were empty due to dangers. Not attended by anyone either.
Single cabin; view from balcony.
Single cabin; view from entrance.

Could be a great ship with improvements

Review for Iona to Baltic Sea

We went on a Northern Europe cruise for 7 nights; this is by far the biggest P&O ship and as it was half term a busy sailing. I travel on both big and small ships, and like both for different reasons. For the size of the ship, I expected more activates like the larger Royal Carribean ships however I did not use most of the facilities or activities on board as they simply did not appeal to me. Many ...

An Impressive Ship, Lots to Do, But Dining Was Not Relaxing!

This was our second Norwegian cruise with P&O, the first being on Britannia in 2018, and our third cruise overall. Our adult son accompanied us this time, and we chose a spacious interior cabin with a sofa-bed, mid-forward on Deck 4, which I'll describe in more detail later, but suffice to say we were very happy with it. Iona is an impressive ship, with lots to see and do; it's still got that ...

Amazing ship & enjoyable first cruise, needs improvement though

Before boarding the Iona cruise ship, I was very excited for various reasons. The main one was that it was my first ever cruise, so I didn’t know what it entailed. I had heard lots of good things about cruising though, particularly this ship, so I already had positive expectations. Another reason was that I would be visiting Norway, a country I had always wanted to travel to and never visited ...

We wanted to try cruising on one of the new larger ships. This cruise had been postponed a couple of times due to Covid, so we were delighted to get on board. Parking with CPS and embarkation were a breeze. We were in a conservatory mini-suite on deck 9: we decided to avoid the controversial cabins on Deck 8. The cabin was clean and well-appointed although we did think that storage could be ...

We have been on many p and o cruises on various ships and really enjoyed them This ship is not for us you have to book dining for every meal on an app you download when you get on board. Even have to book entertainment in some cases but these were repeated a lot . Rooms only done once a day Think very short of staff or that’s how it seemed. This was supposed to be a Norwegian fiord’s cruise ...

Crowded, noisy booze cruise

We booked this cruise over 2 years ago as a special birthday celebration and COVID delayed it. In the meantime, we did another Iona cruise in January this year and that was lovely, but there were only 2500 passengers on board. This time, fares had been heavily discounted by P&O to fill the ship and there were a significant number of younger, louder party goers aboard. There were no masks ...

Excellent cruise ship

We chose this cruise so that members of our family not happy about flying could visit a beautiful country, Norway. Having recently been disappointed by the MSC Bellissima - poor food, poor entertainment, massive ship - I was concerned that this similarly sized ship would also be a disappointment. Amazingly, although this 5000+ passenger ship was full, this was a great cruise. Food very good, ...

Cruise to Norway This was our 2nd time on the Iona ship,so we had a good idea about what the ship offered This review will just concentrate on the extra bits we found out about ports of call/odd quirks 1 there is a switch to operate the night light (outside bathroom) beside the bed 2 keep an eye out for promotions on board the ship these do seem to change often and some are ...

Ship too big for Fjords

Beautiful ship, couldn't fault it, staff lovely, cabins fantastic, brilliant entertainment. But- We did not go to the Fjords. We went to 3 x Norway ports. Due to high winds and rain on the one day IONA was due to go down the fjord to Olden it couldn't do it I think due to its size. I have previously been to the fjords twice in much worse weather and the ships been able to get in. I think this ...

Cruise mis-sold as a fjord cruise - its not!!

Review for Iona to Baltic Sea

We wanted to see the Norwegian Fjords and thought the cruise sold as a Norwegian Fjord cruise would allow us to do that. What we got was a Norwegian coastal cruise with zero scenic fjords seen during the entire trip. After a first stop at Stavanger we were due to go to Olden and cruise by the scenic Fjords. Due to winds of 50 mph the Captain advised that we could not enter the Fjords and visit ...
