Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Ventura

Having cruised on Ventura twice, pre Covid, we thought we would sail on her again. We had read some comments on here from others stating that standards had slipped on all fronts. However, we kept an open mind. We used the online check in and travelled down by coach. We were on the ship within twenty minutes of arriving at the terminal . Our luggage arrived outside our cabin promptly . ...

You get what you pay for

As I said in my title, you get what you pay for. The ship is getting on and looks a little faded in parts. The food is nowhere the level you would otherwise expect on a cruise. But hey, you get what you pay for. What I don't understand is why people who come on having paid a P&O price, expect a Regent Seven Seas service. This is an adult only ship which quite naturally attracts a fair amount of UK ...

Standards have fallen and unhelpful staff

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azura

Whilst the crew were attentive some had only very limited English. The ship was immaculately clean and our cabin steward was lovely but the ice bucket ordered for 6pm each evening more often than not failed to arrive on time if at all. The food for the first 2/3 days was tepid and we regularly sent back cold coffee. There was no information given about ports of call other than to suggest ...

A cut back too far.

We’re experienced cruisers but our first time on P&O. We’d always believed P&O to be a cut above the rest but our experience on Ventura fell short of expectations. There’s nothing basically wrong with P&O Ventura but it didn’t “wow”. It all felt a bit pedestrian, service reduced to a minimum, no frills, no extras. Everything feels a bit lack lustre. Talking to other guests who have ...

Bland, bland, bland

Organised a friends get together for a weeks cruise around the Greek Islands sailing from Malta. Arrival to Malta went well, embarkation went smoothly. Had an extended stay due to late arriving passengers (not their fault). Valletta is a beautiful city and well worth a visit. One couple in the group were given their cabin keys only to find an officer in their bed who had been working the night ...

Great crew but ship needs refurbishment.

Positives: The included food was mostly good. The buffet had limited options but the menu changed daily and the food was always piping hot. The MDR food was good except for the deserts which I found very bland. The entertainment was very good particularly the Aurora orchestra and cast. The guest entertainers were above average too and we saw a different show every night of the cruise which ...

CARNIVAL trading as P&O

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Azura

We chose based on dates, itinerary, price and P&O reputation. Our balcony cabin was roomy, comfortable and mostly well kept. It's a tired older ship, cabin carpet had some stains, the fridge barely worked and the cold water wasn't cold. The ship was crowded, it being August, and felt it at times. Reception weren't great. The main restaurant food was often good, never great, but sometimes iffy. The ...

Dated cabins, poor service, lackluster entertainment and poor choice of food

This was our first time on P&O, having done many cruises with RC and Celebrity. We were disappointed pretty early on, to be honest. The ship in parts is very nice and modern but in other areas it's very dated and even chlostrophobic. Weird fake grass up on deck which looks cheap and when wet, stays wet for a long time. Pools too small. Cabin very dated - for a ship still relatively new I ...

So this is our 19th cruise and the 4th on p&o. 1st time on Azura and sadly it will be our last! The entertainment and ship wide facilities are good. Nice layout, good pools, plenty of loungers. So the best bits 5* for entertainment. The theatre is well equipped with amazing light and sound and the shows are excellent. Great dancing and some excellent vocals from the male lead singers and ...

What has happened to P&O?

I went on this cruise with my 23 year old son who is a teacher hence going in the school holidays. As it was very little extra (e like to be midships and have a proper sofa) we had a suite for the first time. The suite was great, and the bathroom especially so with a large shower and a jacuzzi bath which I overfilled with bubble bath!! However the location was not great - under the swimming ...
