A Sweet Suite Trip

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Aurora

Our second mini cruise with P&O spending some non-refundable credits. Together with ROL, our preferred agents, we'd worked out how to best spend our credits and on this one we were able to book the Mayflower suite on B deck. Our first suite on a P&O ship although we'd regularly sailed with Fred Olsen in their Premier Suites. We were on a three night hop over to Zeebrugge near the lovely town of ...

Suite Disappointment

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Arcadia

It was a special occasion so we decided to upgrade to a suite for a cost of over £1200 for three nights . Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment, the room itself was very nice but the bathroom was not as advertised, it stated and still does that it has a whirlpool bath, I’m afraid this is not the case as it’s just a standard bath in a bathroom designed for a disabled person with a shower in a ...

An Enjoyable Cruise on a smaller ship.

Our first cruise on Arcadia, the smallest ship we have been on so far. First impressions - the Atrium is quite compact not the wide sweeping staircase one sees on the newer ships, that said fine by me. As it was a very short cruise we opted for an inside cabin Deck 8 forward. Three wardrobes !! including shelf space, cabin clean and tidy, no wear and tear at all. The bathroom seemed slightly ...

First-timers with big expectations.

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Britannia

We were a 50+ age group of 8, 6 of whom were first-timers, and two had completed 26 cruises. After rave reviews from the 26-cruise couple, we decided to try it. I'm glad we did, but I wouldn't go on a cruise again. The ship had just been on a short refurb, the carpets were fresh, etc. We were advised that we had queued for embarkation (queueing is not usual) because the refit had overrun, ...

Poor experience on Britannia

The cruise on Britannia was a real disappointment although it had just had a lovely refit. We booked the cruise to relax and use the Thermal Spa, eat great food and drink a few cocktail, but 2 days before we were informed the Thermal Spa would be closed and were refunded the money, no explanation! The ship was extremely cold, but no explanation as to why, we did get some info from the staff ...

No idea on diary requirements, even went to diatry meeting and was not informed that you could book gluten free 24 hours in advance, only found out after complaining in main dining area about lack of choice. Waterside very poor staff including helper when asked what else stated plenty and started pointing out vegan and vegetarian, food cross contamination gluten free cakes with none gluten free, ...

NHS AURORA - HOSPITAL SHIP

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Aurora

This was our 9th cruise with P&O. After our cruise on Arvia, we decided to try an adult only ship. As Aurora had been highly recommended, we opted for an 18 night Mediterranean cruise from Southampton. The ports of call were great, Tangier being a complete and delightful surprise. We thought she was a beautiful ship, with very smart decor, great public areas, fantastic crew, and a huge amount ...

Early misgivings over what to expect from recent reviews were dismissed as soon as we got to the Mayflower Cruise Terminal, boarding was seamless, from check in to a glass in hand was just 20 minutes, Our Deluxe Cabin starboard/aft was large with an extended non overlooked balcony. it was clean spacious with a lovely touch of Champagne and Chocolates, a welcome return of dressing gowns and ...

Decent ship - but lots of fellow passengers!

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Iona

User Avatar

This was our 5th P&O cruise and the 1st time on IONA. We travelled as a party of three, two adults and a teenager. This was also the largest number of fellow guest passengers we have ever sailed with circa 5.5k. The ship was full. Boarding that many passengers is always going to be a challenge, which was the case, slightly longer than normal with the process taking around 90 mins from parking the ...
