N399 Ventura - Spain, France and Portugal.
Wow, I would like to start this review by saying wow, what an amazing experience for our first cruise!
Positives
- The most loveliest staff and crew you will ever meet.
- Although an older cruise ship, very clean, tidy and lots of facilities.
- Really easy embarkation and disembarkation process at all ports.
- Lots of choice when it ...
This was our first time cruising and it was amazing. Horizon buffet was excellent with lots of choice and we had a meal at the Glass House for our wedding anniversary and the food was beautiful.
The Britannia is a beautiful ship and even though it holds over 3,000 guests it never felt overcrowded.
The only queue that I saw was for the burgers and hotdogs at the Lido grill. And they were ...
Travelled 9th to 19th September 2023 (couple aged mid 50s)
Having read some of the very poor reviews a few months before our trip, my partner and I were a little anxious that it would not meet our expectations - especially having cruised with other companies before. This was our first P&O experience so they had a lot to live up to.
What can I say except we have just returned home after ...
Wow just wow, first time cruising so did not know what to expect. This ship and especially the staff exceeded all our expectations!! Firstly the staff greeting you onboard so friendly cases dropped 10 minutes we were on deck 15 having lunch, the rooms beautiful we had a balcony. The food was so lovely fine dining every night and loved the cream tea every day. We saw some great shows, sport ...
We travelled on Ventura in 2009, 2010 and 2011 before many cruises on Azura, Oceana, Carnival and MSC since. I was a bit worried given the many negative reviews but we found a reasonable deal to celebrate our children finishing their exams. We needn't have worried. We had a wonderful cruise!
The food was excellent - the service in the bars and restaurant likewise. We want to give a special ...
I have just completed a cruise on Britannia to Spain and Portugal. The cruise overall was fantastic and as such I have booked another on Britannia in June. A more detailed breakdown of the pros/cons are below;
Itinerary - I enjoyed every port we visited, especially Lisbon. The ship docked in each city and no shuttle bus needed.
Ship - The ship is large and was fully booked. However, it was ...
First time cruisers. Mum Dad & daughter 11. Reading reviews here from experienced cruisers before we left gave us the wobbles but we needn't have worried.
Embarkation seamless. We are aware you should not arrive too early but taxi dropped us off half hour before. Concerned that we had everything correct armed with copious paperwork. Needn't have worried because were met by warm friendly staff ...
We liked the ports of call Lisbon, Cadiz. Barcelona, Ibitha and Gibralter as some we had never been to before.
Embarkation was fast and well organised, the ship was beautiful, very clean and staff very helpful. been on lots of other cruises waiting staff good but never smiled, they were from india and pakistan area. Food good with plenty of choice, never had to queue at any meals.
Shore ...
I had read some reviews after booking and was a bit concerned that we had made a mistake but we cannot fault the service we had or the quality of the food. We used the coach service and were on board very quickly. We had an outside cabin which was very clean on level 8. The soundproofing was better than I expected as I didn't hear other people and I am a light sleeper. We opted for second sitting ...
We chose this cruise as it took in 7 ports of call of interest. This was our 5th cruise with P&O but the first time on Arcadia. Weather was fine and calm which helped, but everything from food to entertainment was the best we have experienced. In the past some dishes in the restaurant were a little soggy such as chips and battered fish therefore we had avoided them but not so on this ship. ...
