Good entertainment, appalling food

Review for Ventura to Europe - All

I'm not a great cruise expert, given this is my second cruise and had my first one about 20 years ago. We've chosen this cruise because we wanted to enjoy some summer time on sea and couldn't do a longer cruise to the Canary Islands. We were expecting a 5 star experience but overall it was a mixed bag. Embarkation was tedious but smooth: long queues at the terminal to leave the car and ...

What an amazing experience ....we loved the new feel ship with great views out of its many glass windows, all staff were helpful and friendly. Balcony cabin with extended balcony were great for sunset drinks.the fjords are magnificent especially looking at them from a hot tub!Favorite restaurant was the olive Grove and sunset bar for early evening drinks. There is nothing to fault with this cruise ...

Worst cruise ever

Review for Iona to Europe - All

I have cruised many times over the years, and P&O are the worst I have ever experienced. They missed ports due to “bad weather” when it was 20 degrees and sunny with no wind, the food was appalling as was the entertainment - three of whom told us that it was their first time ever performing on a cruise ship. Food - usually there are several included restaurants, a buffet that serves a large ...

Not how what we expected for P&O

We are a family of 4 and we have undertaken many cruises before. We originally booked to sail on Iona in 2018 for 2020 when the ship was announced. We decided to see the Norwegian Fjords as a family it is something we had wanted to do. Covid meant that our original booking was cancelled and we moved it to 2022. The ship itself is beautiful. Our cruise was at full capacity, one of the first ...

A nice first time

This was our first ever cruise so we was not really sure what to expect but overall very pleased. Embarkation - Seamless and great, from joining the very long line of people outside, we were in our cabin with the luggage with 45 mins. Perfect. Cabin - rather good to be honest, we stayed on deck 9 and the balcony was super. Inside everything was good, clean and the bed was comfy. My only ...

Missed Cruise Ports

Embarkation excellent, Ship is very spacious and bright. Atrium slightly disappointing rather like a Shopping Mall. Food in horizon and main dining very good, Sindhu not worth the money. First ports Stavanger and Olden excellent.Main problem was missing the call at Gerainger, main reason for booking cruise. Once again Iona had to miss this port due to high winds? It seems this is a regular ...

Another brilliant cruise onboard Britannia

We had a fantastic holiday on onboard Britannia for a second time. The food was 95% great. The lobster and King prawns were a real treat. The entertainment was brilliant, especially the P&O performers and the staff are a real credit to P&O. The trips were well organised and despite the very hot weather we still had a great time visiting the different countries. I particularly enjoyed the art and ...

Iona and Fjords - V good but maybe got lucky

Review for Iona to Europe - All

Overall was good/v good with a few niggles, but based on other reviews here we might have got lucky. Also largely agree with many of the things other reviews on here say, although none of other reviewers issues affected or bothered us too much. Ship was v nice and our accommodation (deck4, sea view, was fine) (last minute booking) Staff we interacted with were good / v good Food was ...

Wonderful first cruise experience for my husband. Slight hiccup at the end...

We had originally booked a Baltic cruise on Azura, due to set sail in summer 2020, but Covid-19 obviously put our plans on hold. We were disappointed but cancelled and rebooked a Norwegian Fjords cruise on Iona for summer 2022 instead. This was our first (and definitely not our last) cruise together. I had previously been on an informal (but very enjoyable nonetheless) Ocean Village cruise in ...

The only good thing I can say about this cruise is the quality of the food. We had the ultimate drinks package - should be renamed the very restrictive drinks package. The glass house didn’t serve a decent wine within the meagre price of £6.99 and unlike other cruise companies who charge the difference between the allowance price and the listed price P&O charge the full price less 20%. Fever ...
