FIRST TIME CRUISER
I went with a friend , simply no good on all levels boring , flat atmosphere, rough sailing , missed stops, mykynos and skatios no compensation , late sailing by 7 hrs! no entertainment , food OK, staff miserable . Captains night waste of time . What was the point ? I didn't get why ? I can't really say I went to Greece ! What I saw was rubbish . ( because of missed ...
I don't want to waste a lot of my time writing this review, but just to say that we were with a group of people (10 in total) and we all has a lot of issues during our weeks cruise. Worst of all it was my friends wedding onboard, and many of her arrangements and our dining plans were messed up! We weren't able to sit together for dinner until the 4th night!! Even the special wedding night meal saw ...
Chose to go with p and o because of recommendations from friends . This was our first cruise, only my husband and myself in the party . Our baggage labels were sent to us and printed and put on our cases . We had confirmation of a free upgrade. When we reached the embarkation point we were told those labels didn’t match our cabin. The staff didn’t know why so we were left waiting until they found ...
Having read the reviews in advance we were a little worried. This was our 27th cruise (various lines including P&O). We had an aft balcony cabin which was on the corner of the ship. It was spotlessly clean and, although a little tired furnishing-wise, due ship's age, it was more than adequate. Only gripe was the bed seemed harder than usual. The service around the ship was fine, staff were ...
Introduction
We have enjoyed many cruises (15+) over several years, and the majority have been with P&O.
This time we cruised on their newest and largest ship, Arvia, going to the Mediterranean (although in fact, the only destinations were in Spain) in September. One port was changed from Marseille to Cartagena due to a Rugby match in Marseille.
As the ship was not going to cover any ...
We are regular cruisers across a number of cruise lines for last 23 years (2 or occasionally 3 a year, so have an idea what's going on). We do not have rose tinted spectacles for any cruise line and you will find this to be a honest take of our experience (the good and the not so good) on P&O Arvia.
Nothing to do with the cruise really but please be aware of a pitfall that occurred using ...
Overall, I had an ok cruise on the P&O Arvia. The main positives were:
- Limelight Club - Great entertainment by Alice Fearn
- Excellent Food at Sindhu, the Keel and Cow and the Beach House
- Kezia Gill and the shows in the Skydome
- Food in the Olive Grove and the 6th Street Diner
- Staff in Brodies were super friendly and the trivia was fun in there!
- Balcony Cabin was nice ...
As the Ariva ship is very similar to the Iona (we have been on her this year as well )
This review will just concentrate on the plus/negative points between the two
Plus points
The range of food is better on the Ariva both in the buffets and the mdr,s
The shows and the acoustics in the main theatre where also better
(The sky's the limit and greatest days being our ...
Having recently returned from a 14 night cruise on Arvia, I would like to offer my comments on Arvia. Obviously I cannot complain about the pre-boarding nightmare caused by there being 3 cruise ships in Southampton and the lack of transport which caused some quite long delays before arriving at the Ocean Terminal. As a disabled traveller, the assisted boarding was proficient despite our attendant ...
Never seen such pleasant hardworking staff across the board yet still people moaned .Food was great even the buffet loads of choice much better than iona in may which was shocking .People were fetching chips from taste to go with their meal as not once were any on just tasteless aunt Bessie type roast potatoes and on a couple of occasions boiled was the only choice of any sort .Often just 1 ...
