Lovely cruise, did our own tours with the locals, P&O tours far too expensive in my opinion. Lovely food, good entertainment in headliners. Couple of acts not so good, but we all like different things. Piped music far to loud on deck and in live lounge, no chance of having a conversation with fellow guests. I think a charge of £25 to watch Gareth Gates and Madeliene Bell in the Limelight Club ...

Two weeks in the Caribbean 3-17th December 2016
Prior to going on our cruise I briefly looked on the Cruise Critic site and was surprised to see that Britannia only had a 53% approval rating from previous guests however I quickly disregarded this as I have read terrible ship reviews on this site in the past and yet went on to have a wonderful cruise on the same ship being disparaged.

We are experienced cruisers in our 60's, first time on a P&O ship. Being able to choose a direct flight to the Caribbean avoiding the USA was very appealing with no worries about our luggage was heaven. We choose to book with a Cruise Specialist rather than direct with P&O gaining a significant discount also upgrading our flights to Premium Economy.

Birmingham to Bridgetown Barabados Thomson Dreamliner- 2 meals included Excellent food and tea.
Next time we saw our suitcases was in our cabin that evening.
Straight from the aircraft to the P&O shed checkin in Barbados- very effcient.
Room C218 with balcony (Bigger than Britania), deck 10.Very spacious, really comfortable bed.

This was our ( with my wife) first cruise on P and O and only our second overall. We had a balcony cabin towards the rear of the ship . It was fairly good; I have been in smaller hotel rooms in London and Paris! The bed was great and i can honestly say I had 14 great sleeps.

Always wanted to go to the Caribbean, having sailed with P&O to the med on the Ventura we were looking forward to this trip, so myself and family (1 14 year old son, partner and father went) We sailed from Southampton, the crossing to Port Delgarda (Portugal) was very rough, it took 4 sailing days to get there. Porta Delgarda was a welcome piece of land!

I'm astonished that it appears that over half of Britannia's passengers appear to have endured an unpleasant experience. Either their standards are infinitely higher than mine (possible) or they are more sensitive to disappointment (equally possible).
