"They offer a Retreat menu but there are only 2 options for lunch (one of which is a big plate of salad) and there were only two daily menus throughout the cruise so very, very limited choice. One positive was the incredibly helpful and friendly bar and waiting staff - far better than on Iona...."Read More

1-10 of 148 Mediterranean Britannia Mediterranean Cruise Reviews
Third P&O cruise and chosen for the stops in Spain and France. Food and service were impeccable. Port organisation was superb. Ports and weather were very enjoyable, particularly Valencia (Spain) and Toulon (France)
Luxury Balcony cabin as ever was well organised and comfortable.
What we missed was:
1. Presence of officer staff on black tie nights, making them a bit like damp ...
I was really looking forward to my first Med cruise in 3 years but I was very disappointed with this cruise. Britannia herself is clean and tidy enough but I really miss having a proper prom deck to walk around - for most of the cruise, exits to prom deck were closed off. I used The Retreat most days and while it was a bonus having a quiet, adult only area, it looked very tired - ripped beds, ...
I read all the reviews before deciding on a holiday so only fair that I should leave my own objective review. This trip was our first time on Britannia and we had a fantastic trip. The food choices were really good, we ate normally in the Oriental restaurant and were very well looked after with the waiters always offering more if we wanted it or to change things if they though we weren't keen. We ...
After a lumpy Bay of Biscay crossing, the rest of the cruise was excellent.
The ship was going into dry dock at the end of this cruise for a spruce up.
We had sailed on Britannia before so we knew our way round the ship. The lifts are still a bit of a problem, mainly as at either end of the ship they are smaller and often full at busy times.
Considering the wear she has had, I thought she ...
Chose this cruise because of the ports and the time of year. First three days were excellent then the Norovirus outbreak god out of hand and pools were emptied, buffet was closed, all venues on the ship were single entry with staff enforcing the use of hand sanitisers. Loungers were put away mid afternoon to scrub the decks. Handrails and lift buttons could not be touched. Menus, condiments, etc ...
October 2018 and this was our 12th cruise with P&O.
This time we boarded Britannia on Friday 12th October 2018 on a two week cruise to the Mediterranean. We stayed overnight at our preferred hotel, New Place Hotel , Shirrell Heath, Southampton where we got a taxi to the port. We always arrive early prior to our designated boarding time as we usually get on earlier. This was our 3rd trip on ...
We wanted to visit Madeira and Lisbon so we chose this canary island cruise and booked one year in advance. The sailing was smooth and the cabins were of a reasonable size. The ship was in good condition and clean. The problem was that there were too many people and this made it very difficult to get into a lift.We were on level 11 so needed the lift. This meant waiting a long time to find space in ...
After a first and very successful cruise on Ventura in 2017, my husband and i were immensely looking forward to our 2nd cruise on Britannia in October 2018.
We read the reviews; just as we had for Ventura; but dismissed them as there had been bad reviews of Ventura too, but we'd not had a single issue (apart from a minor dislike of the buffet restaurant which we found ...
We booked this Mediterranean cruise for my 50th. We had the time of our life's .We had freedom dining and ate every night in the meridian. The waiters and hosts were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious from starters to desserts. The bars and entertainment we enjoyed and they shown films too. We played bingo and on the roulette table and had a very good time doing so.The pool and ...
This was our second cruise after the Arcadia last year. This was definitely a step up in quality of food and overall wow factor of the ship. Yes there is a bit of getting used to which lifts to use to get down to your required deck but that's offset by enjoying the beautiful interior decor and ambience.
We cruised to the Madeira and the Canaries. I must admit to being quite surprised as to the ...
