This was mine and my husbands first cruise. We had chosen this as our Honeymoon so decided to do the Arcadia as child free and we wanted to see the Northern Lights.
I knew this cruise would be older generation (I am 40 and one of youngest there)
I had done my research and we booked a year in advance (one so we could save up and have balcony room for space and two so we had plenty of time ...
My wife and I cruised on Iona last summer and apart from the poor service in the bars and main dining rooms due to a lack of staff we were very impressed. We found a big improvement in service this time in what turned out to be a very eventful cruise to Northern Europe. We had a fire in the Atrium on the day of boarding after a battery on a mobile scooter exploded and caught fire in a very ...
Our first cruise to Norway and we were very lucky with the weather. Best embarkation we have ever had, everything went quickly and smoothly. Our cabin was good, clean and bright. Excellent bathroom and walk in shower. Dined at several of the venues. Particularly enjoyed the Norwegian tasting menu, Sindhu restaurant and dinner in the Pearl dining room. The Quays proved very popular and great for a ...
Fjords was a tick on the bucket list and having not cruised since 2020 we were excited about revisiting P&O onboard one of their newest ships. The ship did definitely not disappoint! Excellent public spaces, lovely decor so many places to visit. Loved the infinity pools and deck 8 hot tubs. Entertainment top class in Headliners theatre,710 club Limelight and Crows Nest. Food absolutely fab in ...
The Baltic Sea cruise was a good value for money, and relaxing as a whole. This was my second time on Aurora, though the ship had gone through a refit and converted to an adults only vessel since my last trip, so there were some changes in layout. Embarkation went very smoothly, and we were directed to our muster station on arrival getting the check in instantly out of the way. The small cabin ...
7 night Norwegian fjords cruise. We chose the Iona after sailing on (and thoroughly enjoying) the Arvia's maiden voyage at Christmas.
Overall, I would strongly recommend the cruise and the Iona.
Pros:
- Great ship with loads to do and lots of entertainment options
- Shows are usually repeated three times a night so you can do 2 or even 3 in a night easily
- Limelight club cabaret ...
I chose this cruise after spending 2 weeks in the south of France when it was 42 degrees! We will go North I said, let's do a cruise to the Fjords, we won't be too hot there next summer. And how right I was.
The weather was dreadful, rained the whole time we were in Norway, but it wasn't too hot to do sightseeing so a good decision to not go south this summer!
The ship, the staff, the food, ...
It was our first cruise with P&O and also the first time sailing in such a vast ship. The ship is spanking new and looks lovely. It is enormous and so lots of space even when we sailed at capacity. Most of the time it didn't feel crowded. Our cabin at the aft was perfect for our cruise to the Norwegian fjords. We had fabulous panoramic views as we sailed. The weather wasn't that good but we ...
I was dreading going on the Iona from some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. Embarkation was quick and easy, the ship is quite amazing with so much seating in the atrium, bars and on the sun deck. Loved the infinity pools around the promenade - such a great idea as is the Quays which does really good fish and chips. I didn’t eat in the main dinning room any night but rather ate at ...
We booked our cruise (an interior state room), for about 570 pounds per person and we got a free upgrade to a larger state room in which we got floor 11. I think we lucked out in terms of our floor because it wasn't near any entertainment or restaurants, zero noise! So, overall what can I tell you? I think for 570 pounds per person this was a great deal. A hotel in Norway for 7 nights plus all the ...
