Fantastic holiday on board Azura

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Azura

This is my second time on Azura, but the first time I have been on her at capacity. Found it a bit dauntingly busy in places but the staff really tried their very best to keep up with busy bars and dining rooms. Dining - A shame the app wasn't being used in my opinion. Instead quite a lot of queues and buzzers for the Main Dining rooms. The staff were clearly under enormous pressure. Breakfast ...

Very Disappointing

Too many overweight and ill mannered seniors on board (although there were quality passengers also). Too few comfortable seats in desirable areas unless constantly harrassed by (very polite) waiters to buy drink after drink. The instant you emptied a cup, glass, or plate it was removed by waiters (sometimes they had to be told to leave glasses alone). Loud, unpleasant "Rap" music piped ...

A wonderful week on Azura

Just back from a Med cruise on Azura and it was wonderful. The crew cannot do enough for you. The captain is friendly and present around the ship a lot, which was lovely. Food and service in the main dining room was faultless and breakfast and dinner. The buffet was great for lunch, lots of salads as well as heavier options. Veggie dishes are good and easy to find. Plenty of sun loungers ...

CARNIVAL trading as P&O

We chose based on dates, itinerary, price and P&O reputation. Our balcony cabin was roomy, comfortable and mostly well kept. It's a tired older ship, cabin carpet had some stains, the fridge barely worked and the cold water wasn't cold. The ship was crowded, it being August, and felt it at times. Reception weren't great. The main restaurant food was often good, never great, but sometimes iffy. The ...

Great Cruise ignore poor reviews

I was a little hesitated to book this cruise given some of the more recent reviews were a bit mixed. However, I’ve just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable cruise with no significant complaints. It appears some of the die hard cruisers on here have been disappointed by some of the very minor changes P&O may have made with certain aspects. But in reality they will have no material impact on your ...

A sinking ship

Just returned from a 7 day cruise around Croatia from Malta. Have used P and O prior on a cruise to the Caribbean about 10 years ago but was not aware how this cruise line has fallen into decline. The balcony cabin was exactly the same as we remembered as the decor and carpets seemed the same as 10 years ago. However no complimentary bottled water in the room (you have to buy your own which I ...

Dated cabins, poor service, lackluster entertainment and poor choice of food

This was our first time on P&O, having done many cruises with RC and Celebrity. We were disappointed pretty early on, to be honest. The ship in parts is very nice and modern but in other areas it's very dated and even chlostrophobic. Weird fake grass up on deck which looks cheap and when wet, stays wet for a long time. Pools too small. Cabin very dated - for a ship still relatively new I ...

So this is our 19th cruise and the 4th on p&o. 1st time on Azura and sadly it will be our last! The entertainment and ship wide facilities are good. Nice layout, good pools, plenty of loungers. So the best bits 5* for entertainment. The theatre is well equipped with amazing light and sound and the shows are excellent. Great dancing and some excellent vocals from the male lead singers and ...

So much could be better

Chose this 7-day cruise because of the destinations en route. The "buffet" leaves a lot to be desired - poor choice of dishes, terrible organisation in terms of getting people through, inadequate tea and coffee stations which always lacked simple things like teaspoons, the food was consistently cold and/or dry. One of the main irritations was the captain. Multiple times a day he would make ...

We have recently returned from our Azura cruise and have had a lovely holiday. The ship is older but smart in places. We travelled on her a few years ago and noticed a few improvements. There does seem to be a few cutbacks with staffing but we found staff very helpful and most of them have double jobs on board and work hard. The food in the main dining area were smaller portions which ...
