We chose Pacific Encounter because the itinerary included ports in Papua New Guinea that we were keen to visit and sample the culture. The check-in system at Brisbane Port is diabolically inadequate! After standing in a long line for more than 100 minutes to board the vessel, we eventually made it to our cabin. While we were unpacking an announcement from the captain told us that due to ‘civil ...
We arrived at Brisbane cruise terminal at our allotted embarkation time. Still had to queue for two hours (less 5 minutes) until we boarded. From this point standing in queues is my main trip memory. I had problems with my room key and account. The queue at the reception desk took an hour and 40 minutes. Luckily, when I got to the front, the issue was quickly resolved. There were six (or it may ...
This was our 5th cruise with P&O over a period of 40 years. This will be our last. The standard has slipped dramatically after covid. It was our 20th Wedding Anniversary and we told P&O this when booking. Nothing was done to help us celebrate. Not even a card! Everything is aimed to get as much money off you as they can. Even a tour around the Ship to show you the galley and internal running of ...
So we booked a 2 week cruise around the pacific islands leaving Brisbane on the 15th July for a 30th and 50th birthday and it ended up our worse holiday EVER.
So we arrived at the port on the 15th and were totally shocked to how many people were using walking aids or in wheelchairs and after walking around the boat it become aware the 2 week cruise was going to be like living in an age care ...
Firstly the entire crew were all wonderful helpful and caring.
The food though was very disappointing. Breakfast the eggs scrambled or fried were stone cold along with bacon.
Dinner and lunch at the Waterfront Restaurant had the same menu every night . The quality was not good. Dragon Lady and Angellos was the same. The only decent meal was at Lukes which we had to pay for. It was of the ...
Chose this cruise as it was departing from Cairns where we live and we had wanted to see PNG and try a cruise as had never been interested before. We were happy it was only a 7 night cruise and were happy to get off the ship back in Cairns. The cruise was quite rough at sea for 1st 2 days and was happy I was taking seasick tablets from when we sailed. Many were quite ill the first 2 days and ...
We chose this cruise because it was cheap. you get what you pay for!! after the last p&o cruise, i swore i would never use p&o again. the food in all free restaurents was tasteless, poorly prepaired, poor quality & with little variety. i thought it may have improved, but it hasn't.
Drinks are double the price of any other cruise line considering they are pouring 1/2 nips (30ml) for $11. ...
I have been on several other cruises pre COVID. Two were with P&O, the others with Princess.
This time around though, I went with my adult daughter and her two children, aged 6 & 8.
We booked fairly late for it, spur of the moment, paid about $849 per adult for inside cabin. Slightly less for the kids.
Embarkation: Fine
ROOM: Fine, although my grandson was in a top bunk and said, ...
Embarkation: we lined up for over an hour to get into the terminal. It seems that everyone arrived for a 12:30pm boarding time despite the time they were actually given. Once we got into the terminal the process was relatively straight forward. I'm not too sure why I bothered getting my second covid vaccine or doing the rat test though as these were never checked.
Room: we had a three birth ...
Rooms were fine - staff was excellent! Can't fault them for a second. Can't say the same for other passengers...
First I'll say the shows and comedians were perfect! Staff were beautiful, and all the water, coffee and juice stations were always in great condition and full! It was, overall, not an experience I regret.
However...
Some activities were so limited that only experienced ...
