Queen bed. Note the drawers on the right. They could not open the whole way because they were so close to the bed.

Pretty good

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Pacific Encounter

First cruise. Not too bad, but not outstanding. The absolute highlight onboard is the staff. All staff are extremely hard working, polite and professional. This is from the cleaners to the entertainers. People like the cruise director are fun and don't mind being silly to get a laugh from passengers. Being our first cruise, we were a little overwhelmed on boarding and there are no clear ...

The Encounter was once again a delight. Staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The cabin was nice, the food quite good, and the entertainment enjoyable. I will happily cruise on this ship again. The food in Dragon Lady, the Asian restaurant, was superb. Better even than the last time I was on this ship, and it was good then. The paid pizza restaurant was again ...

Just got back from the Island Hopper itinerary with Pacific Encounter out of Brisbane December 2023. Travelling as a family (husband, wife and 2 kids aged 2 and 4). Grandma also came along and stayed in the adjoining room, although not connected internally. Our only other cruise was earlier this same year on Royal's Quantum of the Seas. I know comparing the 2 is like comparing apples and ...

Winter escape

We chose this cruise as a winter escape and a mid-year break from work. Even though the ship itself was old, it had been beautifully maintained. The public areas were both casual and tastefully decorated. Among our favourites were the Bonded Store, Angelo’s restaurant, and Charlie’s Bar. The Entertainment team did an excellent job of being inclusive of people with disability and there was ...

Our 4th Cruise on Encounter since restart. We loved our cruise to PNG few years back on P&O and this one was just as good ( except one island short of last). The main reason was the same as last, the people you meet and make friends with on this cruise. Updates since last trip on ship - Julie the cruise director has gone to Adventure I believe, and Christiaan has progressed up from ...

Having not cruised for several years due to Covid, it was great to be out on the ocean once more. The ship’s capacity is 2 600 but we were informed that there were only 1 600 people on board due to Covid restrictions. PROS Staff were obliging, friendly, happy and relaxed. Common spaces have been revamped and look fresh and clean. Food was good without being great. Could always ...

Back to Back cruise part 2.

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Pacific Encounter

We ended up with back to back cruises only because of old cancelled cruises thanks to Covid. Whilst on the Covid subject. Previous cruise on 20th did not see any covid cabins as with previous cruises and same with this cruise. So if it was onboard didn't hear anyone discussing or mentioning it, mask wearing on each cruise is less and less. It is still mentioned on intercom but nobody enforces ...
