Queen bed. Note the drawers on the right. They could not open the whole way because they were so close to the bed.

A First and Last with P&O

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Pacific Explorer

Having 18 past cruises to compare with, My Wife and I would say we ought to be capable of accurately compiling and submitting this review. It is my opinion that this ship is dangerously old. The very visible rusted major steel structures are of great concern. Many totally clouded and cracked window panels in public areas are another telltale sign that this vessel is fast becoming destined for the ...

Penthouse suite perspective.

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Pacific Adventure

The suite was superb, the deck, massive. Aft cabin. Quite a bit of noise from the wash behind but I expected that. Cabin staff were superb, cannot fault them. With the suite came perks. Fruit bowls, snack trays and these were unnexpected. Large packets of chips and peanuts and chocolates. These went to our cabin staff so they were enjoying that. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud - just ...

Shabby ship and poor entertainment

Disappointed with this cruise. Weather was good and sailing was smooth. Loved that it was just a short cruise of four days and enjoyed the shore trips to Port Lincoln and Kangaroo Island however the ship is very old and tired and really shabby. Staff were mostly friendly and efficient but clearly overworked and tired. One cleaner told us they work 12 hour days for 7 days a week with no ...

Lovely cruise, recommended.

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Pacific Encounter

The Encounter was once again a delight. Staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The cabin was nice, the food quite good, and the entertainment enjoyable. I will happily cruise on this ship again. The food in Dragon Lady, the Asian restaurant, was superb. Better even than the last time I was on this ship, and it was good then. The paid pizza restaurant was again ...

Such a disappointment

My first ever cruise and cannot say how disappointed I was. From the state of the ship just being old to the actually drips on my head in the pantry as the whole roof leaked in the main dining room. The whirlpool spas (not one of them worked so it was just like warm bath water), to the showers that firstly burned my hand badly as it was about 79 degrees then they just turned the heat off so cold ...

We were on a 4 night sailing Adelaide-Pt Lincoln-Kangaroo Island-Adelaide in Feb 2024. Deck 10 balcony cabin. Cabin was dated. Loose tap in bathroom sink and one of the bedside lights non operational (although did turn itself on at 3am one morning). Food quality was good with the Dragon Lady and Angelo's restaurant excelling. Selection of different foods in The Pantry on Deck 14 but the ...

Worst cruise experience

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Pacific Encounter

1. bathtub is mouldy, toilet smells like dirty public toilet. Made compliants but no improvement. 2. Everything on the ship aren’t being maintained and very dated, e.g. Pantry water tab (to wash hands) not working, not just one of them but every single one. 3. Staff need a lot more training, the worst customer service I have ever experienced on a cruise ship. E.g. in the Pantry, one of the ...

Perfectly Fine

I chose an interior cabin. There should have been two travelling but I ended up solo. That was not a problem at all. I have travelled extensively by myself and carry a book everywhere. If I wanted a conversation, I could always find someone to talk with. If not, I read my book. Yes, the ship could do with an upgrade but it was kept spotlessly clean by the amazingly busy cleaning crew. My ...

Very sad

We chose this cruise (P&O Pacific Adventure) to be with the family and it was a short cruise. Sadly the food was really bad, we even gave the chef of the Italian restaurant cart blanche to make a meal with lots of veggies. It was more Thai than Italian and very unhealthy to eat. With very few veggies. The shows were very loud too. The dancers had great energy but sadly they killed a lot of ...

I am on my last night of my 5 day cruise from Melbourne to Kangaroo Island and I have had the best time. The staff and crew have been nothing short of amazing. James and Leo who are bar staff in the Explorer lounge were brilliant. I can't believe i forgot his name but he was our amazing waiter from day one, he worked in the black circus as well as oasis. Honestly one of the most amazing humans i ...
