Review for Queen Elizabeth to Panama Canal & Central America

We chose this cruise because although we had sailed QM2 several times Transatlantic, we had never been on the QE. The dates fit our schedule—sail the QM2 over to Southampton, a week in England and sail the QE back Southampton to Fort Lauderdale. Our leg was the beginning of the QE’s longer leg, she will be sailing over a month, all the way to Alaska. My observations: Embarkation in Southampton ...

Cruising in a late-pandemic world

Review for Wind Star to Panama Canal & Central America

We were tired of staying home and have always loved Windstar. Although we were somewhat put off by the COVID restrictions imposed by CDC and other governmental authorities, foreign and domestic, on the cruise lines, we decided to give it a try. It was probably the best cruise we have ever taken (and that is a lot of cruises). We boarded after a mandatory COVID test and stayed in our cabin until ...

REVIEW OF "GATEWAY TO SUNSHINE” CRUISE" We just returned from the Oceania “Gateway to Sunshine” sixteen-day cruise that started in Miami on December 21st, 2021. It would be a vast understatement to say our experience with this cruise was disappointing. We booked this cruise in late August primarily because of the impressive number of destinations it offered: Miami; Georgetown, Grand ...

Fell far short of their reputation and our past experience.

This was the maiden voyage for this crew following the long Covid-induced hiatus and it was clear to us that this ship and crew was not ready. BIg things and small were problematic. We can start with our return flights which were changed without consultation or notification. I discovered the change when I reviewed the embarkation package. Then Oceania insisted that it was a schedule change ...

Cruising with Covid the good, the bad and the ugly.

Having not cruised for almost 2 years we decided to book 2 cruises for the last part of 2021. The first cruise on the celebrity Apex from Athens to Miami went well. We had to wear masks most of the time and tours were mostly on Celebrity controlled tours. All passengers and crew were vaccinated, and they tested us several times during the cruise. The ship made all the schedule ports, and the ...

Worst Cruise We Have Ever Experienced

Review for Insignia to Panama Canal & Central America

Normally, we have had no issues or problems with Oceania, but this cruise was different. First, the cruise itinerary was changed three days before we travelled canceling a place we wanted to go. Then four days into the cruise, the itinerary was change again dropping two countries and three ports from the cruise entirely. There was no compensation offered and we had 8 days at sea on a 16 day ...

The crew was great, but the food not so good!

I am a veteran of cruising, and have been on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Viking and Carnival numerous times. For the extra money paid for an Oceania cruise, I really expected more. I wanted the Panama Canal, full transit itinerary, and when we booked, Oceania was the only one going all the way through. I must say, the crew and service was fantastic. Because the gratuity was included, I did ...

We Jumped Ship In Cabo!

Review for Crystal Serenity to Panama Canal & Central America

After 55 cruises, the Crystal Serenity was such a unsatisfactory cruise, we made arrangements to get off the ship in Cabo San Lucas and fly home. Yes we left. This was the first leg of the world cruise and we found it to be a major disappointment. We looked at each other one day, and decided enough was enough and let’s leave. We contacted the concierge and made all the arrangements, got on the ...

We had a great cruise on the Serenity

We had a great cruise on the Serenity from Miami to Los Angeles. This was the first leg of the 2020 World Cruise. Food and wine are an important part of cruising for us. We found the food to be very good to excellent with only a couple exceptions. The included wines were certainly up to the task. The service was great throughout the ship. We received particularly good service from Phil on ...

First Expedition Cruise

Review for Le Dumont d'Urville to Panama Canal & Central America

Hubby & I chose the cruise because we wanted a short cruise that included a Panama Canal crossing. This cruise was an expedition cruise focusing on national parks in Costa Rica & Panama. Started in Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica and ended I. Panama City, including a Pacific to Atlantic crossing of the Panamá Canal. We’re not naturalists but thought it may be an interesting experience. This review is ...
