Penthouse with Balcony (S3) Cabin Reviews

Panama Canal Cruise : Cabin 6003
Suite was fantastic. Only down side was wooden outdoor furniture which was old and in need of re staining or replacing as very faded and paint stain on one of the cushions.

The positives. Suite was large with a separate living room/dining room and bedroom. Also had 2 bathrooms, one full bath and one half bath. Suite is on the front and starboard side of the ship with a huge double balcony facing forward and a large porthole facing starboard. There is a cabinet in the living room that houses a large flat screen television and a minibar/minifridge fully stocked. There is also a round dining table and 4 chairs. The couch facing the TV has a chaise lounger on one side and folds out into a queen side bed if you wish. Outside on the balcony is a round teak table and 4 padded chairs along with 2 padded chaise loungers. The bedroom can be closed off from the living room by a curtain and consists of an oversized queen bed, 2 small nightstands, a desk and sitting chair and an almost full wall of closets and drawers for clothes. The negatives. This room is right above the starboard anchor and the room gets very loud and it vibrates when it drops. One morning it knocked a fixture from the ceiling it vibrated so much. Also, the room is directly above the Cabaret Lounge and you can hear the music and feel the vibrations from the bass. We gave up trying to sleep until the music stopped around 11 pm. Finally, you feel a lot more motion of the ship from this forward suite, although neither of us found it unpleasant. Overall, the spaciousness of the room and balcony and having 2 bathrooms won out over the noise problems. Read Less

This cabin is on the very front of the ship and has a great view forward and to one side. The large balcony was a great place for viewing the glaciers and wildlife. There was a wooden table and fours chairs as well as two lounge chairs. All the chairs had cushions and the lounge chairs also had blankets. The cabin was basically two rooms with a heavy curtain across the opening between the rooms. There was a separate thermostat for each room. There was a powder room just inside the front door and the en suite bathroom had a jacuzzi tub with shower. Both bathrooms had large counter tops around the sinks. The living room had a table with four chairs, sofa, coffee table, two padded chairs, end tables with lamps, and an wood entertainment cabinet. The entertainment center had a large flat screen TV, DVD player, stereo receiver, speakers, and storage. We did have a problem with one of the speakers not working but maintenance came promptly and fixed the problem. We were able to order two DVD's at a time from a fairly long list through our cabin steward. Our cabin steward was very friendly, helpful, took care of our cabin impeccably. The room service staff were friendly and prompt. Actually all of the staff we encountered on this ship were the friendliest and most helpful of any ship we have ever encountered on any cruise ship. One of the extra perks for suite passengers was private breakfast in Sabitini's restaurant. It was a very pleasant experience and so much calmer than eating in the ship's restaurant or buffet. We really loved this cabin. I wish we could take all of our future cruises on the Pacific Princess in this cabin. Read Less
