Quantum class, Chinese Charter, Typhoon

Review for a Asia Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

This was a challenging cruise to review as it was actually three cruises, let me explain. First, after 14 cruises this was our first on the Quantum class, so being on such a large ship was much different experience for us. Second, this was essentially a Chinese charter and third, our itinerary was greatly altered by a typhoon which eliminated two of the three ports and denied us some of the ...

Interesting Ports on a Beautiful Ship

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

Destinations were interesting from Barcelona via Suez canal to Singapore on a back to back cruise. Petra was a good shore excursion which was otherwise difficult to see. Other shore excursions were also well organised and interesting. The ship was the newest cruise ship in the world at the time and still had the "new car" look and feel. The staff were excellent and being a new ship, every port ...

Great Experience, but Some Problems

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

We boarded the ship in Barcelona & sailed for 45 nights, all the way to Tianjin. Boarding was efficient & took about 15 minutes. We chose this cruise for the itinerary & for the experience of sailing on a new ship. Overall the experience was great, but there were some very big problems. First the good stuff. I found both the ship and the cabins to be lovely. We had a balcony cabin on deck 7. ...

Unable to explore Barcelona as one of our cases was missing and didn't know when we would receive it, plus there was a light rain shower. Embarkation started off as a nightmare as the young girl did not speak good English and I found it hard to understand her, also she told us our room had been moved for no reason so that did not go down well. However RCI gave us a FREE upgrade to a junior Suite ...

Was on Anthem last year and wanted to try the latest Quantum class ship. Very impressive ship. Very modern and geared up for the younger cruiser and Oriental market. Excellent service from all areas. Only let down was rain 5 days out of 7!! From arrival at port to getting onboard took all of 10 minutes. Give your servers a tip when you meet them and they'll treat you like royalty ...

Brand New Ship

Ovation of the Seas is a brand new ship and in that respect, it did not disappoint. The ship is beautiful and has a lot of nice features. It also has some things that might not appeal to everyone. This was kind of their maiden voyage and the ship will eventually stay in Beijing. We had a balcony cabin and the cabin was comfortable and has lots of storage space. The usual toiletries that you ...

Took a 7ngt vacation from Southampton to Barcelona on May 3rd. Weather was disappointing but the ship was impressive especially the 270 venue, the covered Solarium and the Seaplex sports venue. Staff were generally friendly and accommodating and our room, a large interior stateroom on deck 12 was modern and spacious. The virtual balcony was interesting but you do get tired of looking at what is ...
