Good Cruise but Lost Luggage
"I would think that it would not take than long to recover my lost luggage since I provided the exact location where it was and spent numerous hours of my time with them on the phone! We spent two hours looking for the luggage while the rest of the passengers were disembarking...."Read More

1st Time on Ovation - Not sure its for us

Review for Ovation of the Seas to Australia & New Zealand

Don't let the title put you off - Ovation is a great ship, and we will cruise on her again, but just not our style (maybe we are getting old!) But to start at the beginning - we had a number of reservations cancelled due Covid (like many) and we ended up booking a Grand Suite on Ovation to get back to cruising; to do that in Oz (a Covid hangover, wanted it to actually occur); to treat ourselves ...

The trip would be interesting because we had not been on one of the bigger RC ships to date and also it would be a sample of how Vanuatu and New Caledonia were shaping up after the over two years with no cruise passengers and their money. Things were ominous at Sydney Terminal when we were handed a sheet of paper advising that Mystery Island was cancelled because of wharf repairs. The rumour ...

So Disappointing

Review for Ovation of the Seas to Australia & New Zealand

Disappointing for many reasons: 1. They are closing Windjammer Cafe every night at 8.40pm!!!! Unbelievable!! All the food is put away & doors at closed by 8.30pm. No longer can u wander in after a show & have a late night supper, cup of coffee, drink & chat with friends. 2. We are in a suite & have access to Coastal Kitchen. However, ZERO catering for vegetarians. It’s a joke. Tomato soup & ...

My mom chose this cruise for me, and I had been on it before, so despite me trying to have little to no expectations I got more excited as it approached, and prepared and packed gleefully hoping it would be as good as before the pandemic. Leading up to the big embarkation day was a bit stressful with COVID tests and going into another country, not to mention packing smartly and everything ...

Review for Ovation of the Seas to Alaska

Alaska was a bucket list with the scenery and to hopefully see whales. Due to receiving 2 text and an email warning not to arrive early we arrived at 11:15 for an 11:30 boarding. The embarkation was chaotic and definitely not as smooth as it is in Miami. It seemed there was one line but no communication where it began or ended or where to drop luggage. I had the donning package so we ate in the ...

Skip cruising this year, wait 2 years for cruise industry to make a full comeback

Review for Ovation of the Seas to Alaska

The cruise industry is in a tough spot, they have had to somehow survive the last 2 years with virtually no income stream. Right now as they are preparing to bring everything back, they are also suffering from staffing shortages. Prior to our cruise, we had researched what activities would be on this ship. From shows like Pixels and a Beautiful Dream, to activities such as archery, wine tasting, ...

Good Cruise but Lost Luggage

Overall cruise was good. Embarkation was the smoothest that we have experienced; it took only a few minutes. Junior suite was spacious and cabin attendant was excellent. Dining was good. Had dinner in the main dining room most nights. Immediately after boarding, made reservations for the Coastal Kitchen for two nights; when we showed up somehow the reservation had been lost. We were ...

Booked 3 weeks prior to sailing it was a screaming deal! Got double points, and were on our way to getting Diamond status. We are From Oregon so easy drive up I5 to Seattle. The food is good. But I s it great? ( Not really) However you can find find good food it’s just maybe not quite as good as some of the other ships I have been on for sure but I was very happy with the food. Don’t listen to the ...

Impressed with general organisation and especially cleanliness

Review for Ovation of the Seas to Australia & New Zealand

We were worried about the size of this ship being the biggest we had been on and it had a lot of stuff that we didn't need like bumper cars, surfing, trapeze etc.but it was easy to avoid them and enjoy the rest of the ship as they were tucked away in the sportsplex. What impressed us most was the organisation. Despite having to be medically tested before we got on as we had to change planes ...

Entertaining and fun cruise

I have cruised with Royal Caribbean before a couple of years ago - to the South Pacific for 7 nights - and really enjoyed it. That cruise was on the Explorer of the Seas, a ship I really liked. This time was a 10 night cruise to New Zealand on the very large Ovation of the Seas. I believe it's currently the largest ship in the Southern hemisphere. We were very lucky that the crossing to and from ...
