Our stateroom was assigned by RC on the starboard forward part of deck 6 and was above the deck 5 smoking area. This meant when we wanted to use the balcony, we got cigarette smoke in the air. Fresh air was why we picked a balcony in the first place. The stateroom was only one or two flights of stairs away from the main public areas, so we could avoid busy lifts most of the time. In the stateroom, while it was small, the bathroom was extremely functional. Having USB ports and magnetic walls was also convenient (pro tip - magnetic clips are handy for hanging things on the walls like hats and drying swimwear). However we would have preferred to have a curtain or room divider so that a person sleeping wouldn’t be disturbed by someone reading or coming in late. Having all the overhead lights on the same switch also contributed to this issue. Read Less

Great Family Cruise : Cabin 7266
The cabin was considered obstructed because there were life boats below it, but they didn't block any views! Great cabin!

Lovely cabin. A bit narrow. No coffee table. Ordered room service and had to sit on the bed to eat it. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Storage is great although a small cupboard in the bathroom would be handy. Veranda is nice. Table very small, but I suppose suitable for the space. View is far more obstructed than expected. I've almost always booked obstructed view on other ships with no problem. The life boat comes nearly to the top of the balcony rail and since I'm only 5 foot tall it was difficult to see over it. A really nice room. Its listed as obstructed but its honestly not. You can easily see over the top of the lifeboats and have a little restriction to visibility to the rear of the ship but that's only because its the last balcony room on the deck. Room does creek when the ship starts to really roll but otherwise its pretty quiet. Toilet did have a strong urine smell as others have said but I don't know why as it was always spotlessly cleaned. Storage was ample and we found room to be spacious. Read Less

I did not chose this room as I am a Crown and Anchor member I expected a better cabin to be allocated to me. Turns out RCI had no record of my membership and it took 3 days for them to sort it out. They agreed I probably would have got a better room but they would not change it. I would rather have had an interior than pay extra for a balcony I could not use due to a tender boat stuck in front of it and smokers below. Balcony in this room is bigger than others due to bend in the ship. Such a shame we could not use it. The rooms on Ovation seem deeper and narrower than other ships. The design is awful. The bed should be closer to the bathroom instead of down mere inches from the balcony door. For two friends who want twin single beds it is an bad use of space.. Due to the fake wood bedhead and fixed bed lamps you only have about 8 inched separating the beds as they cannot be moved further apart. So we had a huge amount of free space in front of the sofa. I do not recommend this ship for friends in single beds. The noises in this room are annoying. A strange noise came on at about 3am. like a camera zooming or a robot moving. An investigation needs to be done in this rom to find out what this noise is. Could still hear it with earplugs. Noises coming from cupboards and a continual creaking sound like an olden days sailing ship. from around windows. I was awake for hours in the night. The cupboards are useless. My long formal dress hung out of the space. The rack not high enough. Items, such as trousers and skirts on a hanger placed on one rack would hit and get crumpled on the ones below. For 2 people we managed to squeeze it all in and the bags went in the locker space above the bed alcove. For families they would have no space to put their luggage away or all their clothes. Very bad room design. Bathroom OK with curved glass door so no water everywhere. Kettle and frig in room very handy. Kettle is there, as Asians expect it and as this ship is based in Asia. All ships should have this. TV is fixed on the wall in front of beds. Would be better to have it in front of sofa so at least kids could watch it. And near the balcony. Never going on this ship again and this is the worst room I have ever seen on a cruise ship. The designer of this room should be made to take a trip in this cabin and then be asked would you pay $4,500 AU for this? Read Less
