When reading the Hurtigruten publicity for the refitted Trollfjord you would expect to find an exquisite small cruise ship, what you get is an overcrowded cheaply converted coastal ferry.
The standard cabins are small with low cost fittings. Our bathroom cabinet didn’t close and the shower fitting fell to bits. The bed was uncomfortable.
Dinning was not the highlight one would hope for. ...
Just returning from Iceland intensive cruise and were very pleased with the trip.
All of the Azamara ships are old but they are well maintained. I am sure if you looked for it you could spot areas which could be improved but we don’t approach a holiday in that way and didn’t see anything we were unhappy about.
As appears in most reviews cabins are on the small side and so is the shower room. ...
This was our first Azamara cruise, and with continuing issues with their website, we were a little concerned about the whole experience. I'm used to having all my documents in hand and luggage tags on all my bags before I board, and that just didn't happen; but that being said, it was the smoothest embarkation ever!
We realized early on that we love being on a smaller ship. The staff was ...
Our tour started with a private flight chartered by the cruuse line in Oslo. They were so disorganized, long lines, and bus transfer that did not know what they were doing. We did not get our tour of Svalbard as described in the itinerary. The ship was wonderful and new after only four previous sailings before ours. The expedition team was nice and helpful. Our issue was that we did not go ...
We had never been to the Nordic countries and chose to combine the scenic 2 cruise with 15 day land based tour of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Estonia. We enjoyed the overall experience and were satisfied with most of the staff and very satisfied exploration team.
The food and food presentation was excellent .
The exploration team explained what they were trying to achieve and explained why ...
We have been travelling with Scenic for over 15 years now. We continue to travel with this company as we have always had excellent tours and cruises as well as exceptional tour directors. The tours we have experienced cover land, river and ocean.
Scenic Eclipse, both 1 and 2 are beautiful ships but most of all the crew, food and excursions excel themselves.
We did Antarctica in early ...
My wife and I travelled on Scenic Eclipse 1 in September 2019. The ship had been launched much later than expected, and had only been on a few cruise segments before we boarded, and it still had many problems - not least the Discovery Team (i.e. the "expert" guides on board). It was our first cruise with Scenic, and looked destined to be our last.
I wrote to Scenic to complain. They responded ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and we weren't disappointed, getting to sail 81 degrees north and seeing Walrus and Polar Bears in their natural habitat were highlights.
The ship itself at first appeared a bit too glitzy (we normally sail Seabourn) but we came to like its different spaces and varied lighting. The cabin was very comfortable and the crew were amazing. Lots of ...
We went to Iceland with the Eclipse II. The pre cruise situation made us want to cancel. They require us to have a doctor fill out an 8 page medical form with some pretty intrusive, and in our view unnecessary, questions. So all your medical history including asking if you have ever had any treatment for depression or any mental health issue, what is your alcohol use and prescription and non ...
We undertook a cruise to the Arctic (Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland, 15 days) in July 2023 on Scenic Eclipse II. It was our first cruise with Scenic and we are fit, athletic people in our early 50’s.
Like some of the other reviewers, we would certainly concur with the view that Scenic are horrendous with their communication and organisation prior to you stepping foot on the boat. Looking at the ...
